Guesstimating my food/portion sizes and calories for way too long. I was swearing every day I was eating only about 1,300 calories a day, but when I weighed everything one day (to prove to myself I was eating fine and it was something else causing the issues) I discovered to my horror I was eating way over 4,000 a day most…

Also this. When I was heavier I didn't want to wear cute clothes in case they showed off the wobbly bits, I didn't see the point in makeup cos no one looked at me and I wore my hair short and clipped back. I'm not sure it's the weight loss or the new confidence, but I find more people talk to me now or compliment me so I…

People who know you for years have an image of what you're 'supposed to' look like and you've changed that, so they don't know how to handle it. They'll get use to the new you and eventually stop commenting. :) Happy Birthday for next week!!

I have nothing to add, but I'm not in the US so i'm curious. What if you didn't have the ability to pay the bill for the hospital? Or if you had no insurance? Surly a hospital would still give a critically ill person the same service? I mean, no parent would ever be told "we can save your child as long as you can pay X…

The Slimming World leader in a group I know tells everyone one if you cook mince beef and drain the fat off, it's considered lean mince beef. I struggle with this concept, but others take it as gospel. Some of the recipe books are great, but I found it didn't work for me. I see people eat 500 or more calories a day every…

I love the points system! My mum used this for me and my brother. Points were given for good behavior and taken away for bad behavior and our pocket money every week was based on our points. If we wanted to save for anything, it was up to us how quick we got it. Give it a try, see how you get on maybe?

I'm guessing it depends on the context. If someone said to me "hey, lets do this thing, it's gonna be cool, but unfortunately it's not kid friendly...." then I'd be ok with it. If it was more like "hey lets do this cool thing, but not with your kid cos she's gonna ruin our day..." then I'd take offence. When you say you…

This has happened to me too! When I started this, I had the worst kind of skin problems. Patience, water and a good face wash helped me and after 3 weeks I was back to normal!

Thank you!!

Gold/rose gold!! i wore a purple bridesmaid dress a few years back and the gold shoes were fab with it and we also had gold shawls and a gold bag.

Oh believe me, I'm not afraid of money....It's the "I've worked my *kitten* off all week and look at that crappy pay that's only gonna be in my account for all of an hour before my bills claim it all..." that scares me! :D

I've never seen any that are suitable for under 18's, but I think you're best bet is to speak with a doctor. I would be very wary about allowing a 14 year old replace a full meal with a shake (unless it's been cleared by a doctor), but that's just a personal preference. :)

Just did a quick google search and "1 Cup in Grams" brought up 340g, 227g, 150g and a few more. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=1+cup+in+grams&oq=1+cup+in+gram&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j0l4.9007j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Plenty of recipes have ingredients listed in cups for dry goods (flour, sugar, dried fruit etc) but I…

Plateau!! Especially when you'e had a "great week" in terms of work out/food and you see nothing in return and just want to say screw it and eat all the things!!

"I asked you out because you look like my ex......well you will once you've dyed your hair!"

I did the same as you, lost it, gained it all back (plus extra) and had to start from scratch again. I dunno if it was cos I had done it once before, but the 2nd time round just felt so much harder mentally, especially at the start. The best advice I can give is don't give up! I wish with all my heart I had lost the weight…

I hear ya! I ate a big gooey chocolate muffin today...that i didn't even enjoy that much. I just couldn't resist. That's an extra 40 minutes on the treadmill. But it's one treat, I'm all treated out now.

Kebabs from the take away! Greasy, doughy, soggy and the chicken tastes funny. After a year eating fresh chicken and vegetables it's make my take out taste like mush! :(

Some people bring their kids to work?? Is this a thing? My kid would drive me to distraction at work. I'd get nothing done and spend all day chasing after her with colouring pencils or something to stop her getting bored. Also, I'm pretty sure I'd get sacked for it. My office would literally kill me. One time I had to…

Starting a new job and being forced out of my comfort zone...and having to order a new uniform and being forced to accept my old one hadn't actually shrunk in the wash. And the fear of gaining even more weight cos I had moved to a sedentary job and everyone told me that working in an office would make me gain at least 10lb…

Have you spoken to a doctor? I was the same and they have added iron supplements into my diet and I feel so much better, more energy and not snapping the head off everyone cos I'm so tired!
-
This!! And also "But its EASY for you to lose weight. I can't do it" No it's not easy, I bust my butt in the gym and I refuse the cake 5 days a week. It's *kitten* hard!! Don't down play my awesomeness just cos you don't want to do it!!
-
Wait, what?? Cups....I can't even.... Or the "here is a photo of me at 110lb, am I slim or should I try for 105lb?" Please, some of us would kill for 150lb and 110lb is an unreachable dream for some, don't be that person!!
-
I'm saving this for future reference (and them probably gonna lose it the second I need it) Thank you!! :)

Recipes that don't give specific measurements!! No offence to the Americans on here, but what the **** is a cup?? How big of a cup? And a "dash" of soy sauce could be anything from a teaspoon full to a full on tidal wave. And there are times that google won't help at all, it gives you different weights for a cup…

When people post their entire day on social media as if Facebook etc is a personal diary! "Oh my god, what a hard day, I ate breakfast, went to work, walked the dog and then cooked dinner for the family, now to get into bed with a glass of wine and watch TV" Thanks for the update, no one actually cares...

But people don't always apply basic math. If you're on a low income, feeding your family 3 meals a day often won't come down to basic math calorie wise. It comes down to having to give them food but also pay bills. Is someone gonna spend €10 on a family meal when they can spend €3? If you have to make a choice because you…

I 100% agree. To go into Tesco and fill a basket with fresh fruit/veg is gonna cost more. Lean meat is always more expensive than high fat. One example for my family is fajitas! We love them but they work out so expensive for 3 people. Peppers €1.49 Onion €0.39 Mushrooms €0.99 Chicken €4.99 Wraps €0.79 Spices €1.00…
