  • I know it sounds cheesy but I have 101 Running Songs on my iPod. Most are motivational but the ones that are not I just skip anyway!
  • Hi I have messaged you - happy to be part of this. See my profile for more info about my running. Thanks
  • Hi there I have an Indian Takeaway once a week (after weigh in!!) although I do log this and I have the healthiest thing on the menu (chicken tandoori, no rice, but nan bread and 2 poppadoms). I do then follow this with some choccy and maybe sweets - as i am like you with a sweet tooth. But also like you I can't eat as…
  • Hi I have Sennheiser (not cheap) and they are great. They stay in place when running outside, can't feel them and they sit slightly off centre of the ear so that I can hear approaching cars. Don't know what the Bose ones are like but I am sure someone will have an opinion. Best of luck.
  • I know what you mean - and it would have been easy to go back on and log the lower weight. But as you say sticking to a weekly weigh is best. I am sure you will drop those few pounds next week. BTW I also weigh in on a Weds but in the evening usually.
  • I know what you mean about scales............I took a peek at my scales last night and they said 190lbs then on my actual weigh in day (today) they said 192lbs! I was tempted to record yesterdays weight but then I would only be kidding myself - right??
  • Welcome - this site is great. One tip I would consider would be to add more info to your profile. If people need friends I always look at their profile first to see if I have anything remotely in common with them. Just a thought.....................please feel free to add me as a friend tho!! Best of luck on your journey.…
  • Great info. Thanks. Any idea of a rough cost? been researching this for what seems like ages and cannot decide which to get - there are so many out there and so much choice is too confusing for me!!
  • Hey I'd be interested in replies to this too. Because I do most of my exercising at the end of the day (after work) I struggle to eat the majority of the calories burned - although I usually manage 25 - 50%. I am not seeing the results on the scales I would like to - but I do feel good. I'm sure you'll get some great…
  • Any idea how much this would cost? BTW love your quote on your signature. Made me chuckle!!
  • Hi I have this mental problem with hills. I think you just need to practice this. Only piece of advice I can give is take very small steps and have a picture in your mind of how it will feel when you get to the top / half way / to the next telegraph pole etc etc. I have been working on this - happy to be your friend if you…
  • Hi there I have experienced this sometimes when running. I put it down to one of two possible things: 1. Not enough water before you run - not so important during the run if you are running for less than 1 hour (unless ir's particularly hot) 2. Psychological - do you get it when you feel that you need to stop running and…
  • Here here!! x
  • Would love to be your friend if you want to add me. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!! Alison x
  • I must be very sad as I actually look forward to logging everything! "Little things please little minds!!"
  • If you were to share your diary we may be able to help. Add me as a friend if you want to...........................I'm 5ft 11 too!! Lol. Alison x
  • Hi You might wanna get this checked out at the doctors. Do you have a lot of salt during the day? I only wake up thirsty when I have had an Indian takeaway with poppadoms!! Let us know how you get on. Take care. Alison xx
  • You'll be glad you did!

  • Hi There Christina Well done for posting on the forum. You should put a photo up and give us some more info on your profile. I like to see where people are from cos there are not many from the U.K. Also it's good for other members to see what you are like, what you like to do, what exercise you like etc. Feel free to add…

  • Agreed!
  • Looks like you are not eating back enough of your calories burned to me . You should increase your water consumption too. Maybe your body has gone into "starvation mode". You look good tho!!
  • You got me with that one!!!
  • Yes - I'd actually go further and say that it would do you good to exercise every other day - that's what I do. Your body then gets a rest and time to repair. I do tend to run every other day though so you could do something different on the in between days. Hey I should do that!!!!!
  • My thoughts exactly!!
  • I know that most people on here weigh themselves more than once a week but I don't. If I ever have a sneaky look in between weekly weigh ins I am always disappointed yet by the time I weigh in at the same time and day each week it has usually sorted itself out. Maybe you could try that??? Try not to get too despondent.…
  • What working out are you doing? If it's running outside then you need to make sure that you have the right trainers. I have had shin splints when I have increased activity too quickly rather than gradually. I manage to work through it but it makes my legs feel like concrete - so I have every sympathy with you. Massaging…
  • Would love to do this but would prefer to keep to my weigh in day of Wednesday - just been away on holiday for a few days so will start this from next Weds using that weight as my starting weight.....................does any of that make sense??? Sorry = great idea!! x
  • Great question. I would like to know this too. Is it best to have a strap or does just wearing the watch work?? Looking forward to seeing any responses. Thanks for asking!
  • I would say you should definately invest in a good pair of shoes. You should get your gait analysed too. If you do you may find that you can run! Actually I don't think anybody CAN'T RUN. If you can walk you CAN RUN. Go for it. You will avoid injuries and you will know that you are well supported. Best of luck! Enjoy. x
