I see that this post is quite old but here goes....I'm struggling to lose any weight (this time around!) and I put a significant amount of blame on my age. I'm 50 this year but I seem to have been or am going though the menopause. It's difficult to tell! I have been using MFP again for about 3 weeks and have gained weight…

Strava and MapMyRun automatically synch for me. Not sure why it's not working for you.

And here's where it get's weird. Obviously there's a pause between songs. During that short pause, all of a sudden I can hear myself breathing heavy. I can also hear my feet hitting the ground. All of a sudden that seems to break my concentration or remind me that I am running and it sucks! lol. I totally agree with this -…

My PT says you can't out train a bad diet!! Just saying................
-
Agree with this. I can't run at the moment but when I did I don't think I ever really ENJOYED it. I ran so that I could tell everyone I was a runner, it kept my weight under control and I could still eat (and drink) within reason what I liked. I hope to get back to it but even at my 'peak' I wasn't that great - I did get…

I'm 5ft 11" and currently weigh 198. I have been 182 at my lightest but I am aiming for 189 at the moment. :)

Agreed!

I'm doing 5:2 also. Add me if you think I can help. :flowerforyou:

Is there a running club that you could join? Or maybe use MapMyRun which would have local routes. Good luck and take care.

Hi there. I'm 5ft 11in. I want too loose about another 10 pounds. Feel free to add me. Alison

I've had these from running before Usually meant I needed new trainers! I know that you can massage them which sometimes helps. If you go them from walking on pavements then I guess it could be the higher impact that has caused a problem. I have now had to have tailored insoles in my shoes which have helped. Sorry I'm not…

Add me - happy to give and receive support where I can. :flowerforyou:

That's a good idea. I sometimes close my diary but then get tempted to have something that would take me over my daily limit. This would help average things out as MFP doesn't do it over a week. Thanks for that idea.

Me too!! x

I'm starting over too..............happy to help......

This made me laugh! I often say to people if you can walk you can run and then I say you would run if you were being chased! Some people say - unless you can fight!! I know how you feel though my husband says to me "when we go running can we not stop but just keep plodding along?" He actually thinks I want to stop running!…

Love 'getting out of bed to shave the bottom of my feet' line. Hilarious!! Good luck with this.

I have recently begun to realise that it's okay to say that I don't like running (I've always said that I hate the gym!). BUT I DO love the feeling that I get when I have exercised and that is what I cling to. I tell people that I don't like running but I do like the fact that I can have a few glasses of wine as I exercise…

That's not a time to be sneezed at - great job. I haven't run a 10k for ages but I would be more than happy with that time - especially if it was only my second race. Keep up the good work mate. x

Does the Fitbit have a chest strap? How does it measure your burn? I don't know how either of these devices work but I do know that unless you have a chest strap then everything is an average and not tailored to you. Looking at your info about the bike ride I would think somewhere in between would be about right but I…

I'm a sugar addict too - I admire your honesty. I'd like to lose at least 14 by Christmas and I am 5ft 11 and a half!
-
Scarey that I love all these too and have them on my ipod.
-
What she said! Running outside is definately harder as you have slight gradients, weather etc to deal with. Also your sweat evaporates better than in the gymtoo much information? Sorry but it's true!! I only resort to the 'dreadmill' when I am injured or weather is awful. Just sayin........!

I have an epilator and it is great for under arms - BUT it hurts like hell if you have shaved previously. I do use it on my legs but it takes ages and you can miss hairs. When I am going on holiday I have my legs waxed - but this is now less painful since using the epilator. Good luck. Alison

Make sure you drink plenty. I get this when I am dehydrated. HTH.

Both my beautiful girls went to university the year before last (now in their second year). Hubby and I love it! House tidy, food in the fridge. Great. It's lovely to see them when they come home but also lovely when they go back!! Make the most of it. x

That's more like it. According to this site my weight is 'desirable'. Yay go me and thanks for sharing this.
