Good for you - maybe gym membership and structured work outs could help more people with addictions

I haven't quit entirely but I don't drink now Monday - Friday afternoon...unless there is a planned event. I try to make plans in the evenings like taking my kids to visit my parents, or going to an exercise class - something that passes the time and doesn't normally revolve around drinking. I also put the kettle on as…

Well done!! I lost a stone in January but then maintained and gained 4lbs back but am back on it now!! Another stone and 4lbs to go for me!
-
Please don't do this, they are now linking it to breast cancel. Well done on the decreasing boobs though!!!
-
I bought jeans thinking they would fit 18 months ago. Yesterday I wore them for the first time!! Yes!
-
Weighed in this morning gone and crossed over that stone barrier that has been impossible to cross for the past few years. Actually thinking that I might be able to do this!!

Ha, love people who call a spade a spade! I lost 160lbs in Jan then got bored and tempted to go back to my old ways. Thankfully I am only 3 lbs heavier so and getting back on board today. Will add you if that's ok, I need someone positive saying well done, I get the odd like when I come in under cals but it's not the same x

I didn't realise this was common I thought it was just me! Will be following your thread x

I'd rather eat farmed fish just to help preserve the wild sources. If we only ate wild we'd have no salmon left. Totally up to you though of course.
-
Yes, I am feeling much more positive. You are so right
-
Yep, this has been me over the past 3 days and now I feel fat, guilty and stupid. After a lot of thought this morning, however, I am going to start a fresh today and carry on in the right direction!

That's a lot in 1 month...just over 4 LB a week consistently. Obviously it's up to you but I find if I set really challenging goals if I struggle I completely give up because they quickly seem unachievable. Having said that, if that's what you want to do then all the best x

You are quite right, there is now way I ate those calories. And at the end of the day it's only 3 lbs. Just writing it down is enough to tell myself to get a grip and pull myself together! -Thank you
-
Thanks for your positive words, I am going to keep going and look for the longer term not just this week!!
-
Good point jack lifts maybe I am just looking for an excuse not to put the work in again. I have done this so many times where one set back halts everything and I end up back at square one. It's stupid really, every post I read is about long term commitment rather than a quick fix.

Right, well I guess we had both better take a deep breath and get on with it! Onwards and upwards! I don't know about you but I seem to be all or nothing; ether totally obsessive over food and exercise or totally off the rails eating and drinking everything in sight. Good luck with getting back on track x
-
This is so weird, I'm 5ft 4ins and 168lbs so only 4 lbs more and yet I am a big 14, small 16 uk size. I wonder why it seems to vary so much! My goal is 147 and hopefully I will be a 10/12 then.

You look great and how beautiful are your children!! x

Hum, my first instinct is to think that this guy is a joker and probably taking the micky. Ha ha, box diet, hilarious! However, having read on I suspect that it might be serious! Is that possible? I am not convinced that putting food into a box makes it good for you. You could fill your box with chopped fruit, veg, salad…

Thanks all, I am beginning to really enjoy it, more so the classes than the treadmill in my cold garage admittedly, and the weight is coming off at a consistent rate. Would like to find a way of introducing some lifting soon too.

21 days on MFP (again..oops!) and 8 lbs. down. I am feeling really motivated this time, my clothes are feeling more comfortable and I have enrolled in a couple of exercise classes which so far I am loving. My husband is also losing weight and is playing squash and training so we are working together to keep exercise in our…

I haven't found one yet so I just don't look at calories remaining, I look at my food calories only so that I don't eat back all my steps/exercise calories. I guess if you 'un-sync' your fitbit that would do it but then you don't get all the information in one place. There is a group specifically for fitbit users - it…

I usually make soup or have last night's leftovers. Today at home I threw chopped tomatoes, spring onions and rice in a pan, added a whisked egg and cooked. At the Ed I threw some soy sauce in. It was actually really nice! Bet you could eat that cold or wack it in the microwave!

Today, after 3 weeks of being pretty good I went to a zumba class all on my own and loved it! I then got home and weighed myself for the first time in 3 weeks and I had lost 8 lbs! I am so pleased, just have to keep going that's the only problem!!
-
Yes, I am completely with you! I started this time last year and by summer had completely gone off track. I had even written myself a blog (to look at in private) listing all the great reasons why I should lose weight, improve my fitness and cut right down on alcohol intake but it didn't work! I will be 40 in 18 months…

Sorry, just realised your post says that you son's name is James, same as my eldest a middle name, it's lovely x

Hi there, I also had a daughter who was stillborn at 34 weeks weighing 4 lbs. my experience was 4 years ago and it took me a long time to function 'normally' again. This is very early to be thinking about weight loss, your emotions must be so raw right now. I never know what to say to other ladies who have gone through…

Hi, I would love to join to!!! I would like to drop 8lbs by Christmas (or more if possible) started back on MFP on Monday having gained 18ibs since my wedding 18 months ago - I have 28lbs to lose to get back to where I was some years ago and then I can reconsider my goal if I'm not happy. I have lost 2lbs from Mon to today…

Hey, I am on 1200 calls to. Today I had 2 apples for breakfast, homemade ham sandwich with white bread (oops) and low far spread for lunch and pork and veg casserole with brown rice for dinner plus lots of peppermint tea. Came in at less than 1000 calls and no hunger. I would normally have more but mega busy day at work.…

I think this is what I have (I'm 38), the symptoms are spot on for me. I probably do need to incorporate more stretching into my time so will do this and take is slowly for a while. Thank you
