• Oops! I clearly had too much wine! :embarassed:
• I just started using virgin coconut oil (I think it's the same as coconut butter?). I only started yesterday so it's too soon for results but I'm interested to hear people's experiences :)
• Thank you :) what is LCHF? Low carb high fibre?
• Your diary is private so it's impossible to tell. I suspect though that you haven't eaten enough. I suspect also you probably know this ... Your body just told you well and truly! Listen to your body, it tells you what it needs.
• Excellent advice! Also, we have Tesco supermarkets and smaller stores and they have a good healthy low calorie range too, I love the Chilli chicken noodles for lunch at 195 calories :) I've never been to the States but friends tell me portions in restaurants over there are considerably larger (hope im not making a massive…
•
Maybe control is the wrong word - we're going to be on a limited budget is one of the main concerns so getting fresh fruit and veg, meat etc is obviously going to work out more expensive than something like pasta, noodles, rice.
I've found that fresh fruit and vegetables are generally much cheaper when I…
• Herbs and spices. Dried herbs add so much flavour to all dishes and have additional health benefits. Dried are fine. Try Italian dishes with oregano, basil, thyme. Greek dishes thyme, sage, oregano. I have herbs in everything! Try poaching chicken in water, splash of lemon juice and a sprinkle of tarragon .. Lovely!
• Yes, it is ground beef :) I don't know if ground means its mushed finer than what we get in the UK, ours is usually packed and in kind of strips about the thickness of a piece of penne pasta (if that makes sense!) I always think of 'ground' being really fine texture like sausagemeat.
• Same as georgygirl :) also, Thai beef salad bowls, mini greek beef koftas, Italian meatballs
• When I'm out of ideas I look in the fridge, see what main ingredient I've got then google it - you have to have a starting point or you can guarantee you'll find recipes for everything EXCEPT what you've got in! There's loads of recipes for one but don't limit yourself - pick what you like and divide the ingredients all by…
• It's really easy, you just add all of the ingredients of your recipe and it does it for you :) You can create your own recipes too - I use this all of the time when I'm cooking for the family and not just something for myself, it's really good. When you go to add food there is a button to say 'Create recipe'. You give it a…
• I take evening primrose oil and a women's multivitamin - definitely helps with my time of the month or, more precisely, is of great benefit to my family at my time of the month haha! No mood swings when I take these :) also makes sure I'm getting the nutrients I need peri menopause (I'm aiming to manage it all naturally)
• Thank you everyone :) this makes so much more sense now! :)
• Oooo! Now, there's a good idea for me to start adding soy! ;) err not a guy, but maybe same effect on gals?!?!! Add some chick peas OP great for calcium and protein - personally, I,ve never done a protein shake or any other food shake in my life and pretty sure I never will.
• Thanks meera :) that's what I thought too (and similarly lacking in experience of scooby!) anyone else care to look? :)
• I've had the same problem. It worked fine a fortnight ago but I get the same message as you now :\
• it sounds like you're being really strict with yourself and it might be better to see how you get on :) I've seen peoples diary's where they label their meals as Meal 1, Meal 2, Meal 3, Meal 4 then Drinks, Snacks etc which might work for you. My diary is open and I have Breakfast listed but I don't do breakfast so what you…
• add me if you like :) I don't follow any fad diet programme, I just eat healthily (most of the time). I don't do shakes, my processed foods are minimal and tend to be salty rather than sweet. I'm on 1259 cals a day at moment (might up it to 1336 next week as I've been doing this for a month now with good results but am…
• Gosh! you've really got a tough one there! It seems all you can possibly do is avoid them wherever possible. As to the legal side, i'm no expert but to be honest I think your employer only has to make 'reasonable adjustment' ... I'm not entirely sure that it could be considered reasonable to ban oranges from an entire…
• I don't log it if its my normal day to day stuff but I do if its a big clean that wears me out! This weekend it was cleaning all the interior windows including conservatory ... Big job! Other people have mentioned you should set your goals to Active - you're definitely not sedentary! I have a desk job and was set to…
• I tried the Weight Watchers Malted Danish for several weeks, ate about 2 slices from each loaf and threw it away! It's like toasting paper! and sandwiches of air - doesn't even hold a filling of any kind! So, this week I bought Nimble wholemeal, same 51 calories a slice and its just like REAL BREAD! it has weight, texture,…

• i think it can be quite hard actually, I eat healthily anyway and have found myself reaching for a biscuit to make up some calories (which I wouldn't normally do!). I've found I can bump my calories up by eating nuts (3 brazil nuts has 83 calories alone). I'm getting a bit tired of chicken and as I eat lots for my main…
• Good. I'm glad about that. She said she was new, no need to be negative, we're all here for positive encouragement and advice .... Right?!! So, I gave advice and the best place to start :) *or he, sorry :( .. Wanted positive and negative ... I've seen both sides and know that the positives only come from nature and not…
• Ignore the mean mouthed people, their intentions are good, they just don't know how to be polite But they have the same message for you. Don't waste your money or your time on such stuff, just stick to vegetables, fruit and meat etc, a good balanced diet. There are plenty of forums here that can help you to achieve this…
• Add a few unsealed roasted Brazil nuts .. 3 nuts is 83 calories, and it's so hard to stop at just 3 ! *unsalted ^^ :)
• Hey Erin, in my case when I was eating foods I was sensitive to it would trigger acne and eczema - I'm not allergic to those foods, I was just intolerant to them. If you recognise that it's cow dairy you need to avoid it in any foods for at least 3 months then gradually reintroduce it ( ie eat it 3 days in a row, in…
• here in the uk you need a referral to see a specialist - it can be done on the NHS but there's usually a delay, or you can go privately (but you still need your doctor to do a referral). There are places you can get tests done without a referral for food allergies but I don't know about any for skin allergies (unless I…
• Helenrs - yes, to both your questions! I'm in uk and had terrible skin, extreme lethargy, severe diarrhoea for over 6 months and went for Holland and Barrett food intolerance tests, I was skeptical but it really worked. Intolerant to grapefruit (have never been able to reintroduce it) tomatoes, citric acid, vinegar and…
