You are right about staying under my weekly calorie goal. I had about 2000 calories I didn't eat over several days. I guess it isn't cheating but it isn't the kind of food I had been eating.

To me to satisfies my need to weigh myself every day. I don't know why but it helps me to pretend that I am already the weight they say I will be in 5 weeks. It keeps me on track. However, I find I lose at a faster rate than they say I will (a least for now I do.)

Not stress but coming up on TOM. I never thought of that. Is there any trick to staving off the TOM cravings?
-
Yeah, water and fruits and veggies.

Since weight can change so much on a day-to-day basis, I only weigh in once a week (Monday) after enjoying a low calorie exercise free Sunday. It feels great to get encouragement of a loss the first work day of the week.

Thanks for all the advice and good wishes. I will certainly try to follow all the pointers you all gave.

It might be that your lower belly is where the lose skin is sagging. That is pretty common when you have lost weight and have excess skin left over.

I have tired NB and they have always fit oddly. Is it expensive to have your feet measured and gait taken?

Just because he agrees with you doesn't mean he is ready. Personally I don't do things I am not ready to do and to have someone nagging me about it makes me not want to do it more than ever. Leave him alone and let your own success be his inspiration. Make the healthy way of life you have chosen be the tempting aspect and…

Mine is usually 270 to 300 calories. I go protein heavy on breakfast because it keeps my blood sugar level and I don't get hungry easily. I have eggs or Greek yogurt, but sometimes I go crazy and have a protein shake. I don't eat a huge breakfast because dinner is usually a higher calorie meal for me.

Omg that sounds yum! I don't have either of two stores but I will try and be careful.

I agree with you about the south beach. I never felt so healthy as I did when I lived by its principles. Since I have returned to them I have felt amazing once again. My body just doesn't handle carbs well at all. I feel shaky and crave all kinds of unhealthy food. Now since I limit the carbs and eat more protein and…

I did read it too. I agree it sounds very restrictive and difficult. Honestly, I couldn't do it. Even when I was being super strict with my exercise and diet I was pretty miserable. I found it much easier to live on the principles of the south beach diet. Even if you don't do the first phase (which is the hardest) the over…

Wow these all sound great! Do any of you cook it wiped in tin foil? I've heard that it can help keep the moisture in the fish,

Okay, my hubby is eating his own calories (2100) and I have a lower goal of 1600. I think I must have confused people when I said I did the counting. I meant that I made mindful food choices that would fit his and my calorie requirements. I am not running his diet for him. I don't require him to do anything like I do…

What is a tdee? I don't know a lot of the MFP speak means.

Thank you!

We aren't giving ourselves bad and good foods at all. But there are foods that are triggers for me (bread mostly) and foods that the hubby knows aren't worth the calories. I think he struggles with the point of denying himself completely and then going overboard if he eats it at all. He wanted Chinese last night and I said…

I'm with you girl! I think we're being trolled hardcore.

Diving into skinnytaste.com right now. There are loads of recipes! Looking over the options and ingredients, I can see that I am not flavoring my food enough. I can see where that would make it unsatisfying.

I would suggest measuring your body first off. Get all your measurements and wright recorded so you have many points of reference for weight loss (I never remember to do this and always regret it)Also have your spouse take before pictures. Secondly, I would say to sit down and plan your first week of meals and snacks.…

First of all, make sure you are eating a healthy range of foods to build up the nutrition your body needs. From there, I would say to eat smaller more frequent meals throughout the day to see if you can spark your metabolism back into gear. Like the other poster said it will take time. Your body and mind need to heal. I…

I never thought he might feel badly about that. We talked about it a little last night though. How could I challenge him without it being the naggy wife syndrome? He does want to lose the weight (he doggedly works out every day even if he gets home late without me saying anything ) and he was able to slip into a pair of…

Artificial sweeteners are terrible for you. They cause massive unhealthy cravings, they bloat you up like a balloon and they can cause your bladder to become sensitive to where you are running to the bathroom all the time for a wee. As soon as I started kicking out the diet coke I was drinking, all these symptoms went away…

I don't add a lot of veggies to my sauce unless I make it homemade. Besides, my husband and I are still in the phase of re-training our taste buds and need some meals to be somewhat the same for a while. The changes I made this time are I used whole wheat pasta and very lean ground beef for the meat sauce. It is certainly…
