Hi, I'm Frances. I am looking for ways to encourage more exercise. I am having trouble getting my food under control, but it is easier for me to get the exercise in. I want to be doing 10,000 steps each day by the end of the year.

It could mean that your heart rate is too high. If I start feeling sick, I check my heart rate and usually lower my effort.

A cinnamon hard candy.

I am reading Lady of Ashes by Christine Trent. It is set in the Victorian times about a woman who is an undertaker. Lots of interesting information about how the dead were handled at the time.

I hate frozen vegetables. They are mushy and firm at the same time. I love fresh or cooked vegetables of any kind, except parsnips.

I have seen it and have a link to a page that sells DVDs. I have not tried it out yet. I sold my house and am busy packing stuff.

Frances, Campbell River, BC Canada. I weigh 258 lbs. I want to lose 15 lbs. by the end of the year. I will do this by attending curves at least 4 times a week, cutting out junk food and tracking my food intake. I am trying to get to 10000 steps a day. I did pretty good today and got to 7100 approx.

I worked out on Friday. I worked out at 72 to 79% of my maximum heart rate. My right knee was sore. My chiropractor said I had overdone it a bit and to take it easier on the knee.

I worked out on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and plan on working out on Friday. I am working in the 72 to 75% of my heart rate, which is a good fat burning rate.

I walk my two dogs, Abby and Pixie, about 30 minutes each day. Abby is a Schnoodle and is getting older (13) and has a bit of a limp on her front right. Pixie is a Japanese Chin. She could do without the walk altogether. She would prefer to sleep or keep watch on the neighbourhood.

I used to feel the same way, then I got a Kobo. I find it easier to carry around with me, so if I am waiting, I have something to read. My local library allows the loans of digital books, so I do not have to buy them. Often, the waiting list for e-books for popular books is shorter than the waiting list for the real book.…

If you need face to face support, try TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly. You get a weekly weigh in, people who trying to lose weight, people who have become KOPS, suggestions to try. The yearly dues is about $36.00. Then you have your monthly dues to cover the rent of the building etc. If you find a group that meets in…

Unless you are abnormally short, you should be eating a lot more. You will run into health problems.

I donate to charity or sell on Facebook. Getting a few extra $$$ to buy new stuff in the right size. If I go up again, the clothes are usually out of style. I have some skinny clothes that I can fit in, but are not in style so I do not want to wear them.

I get my official measurement every Friday at Curves. That is the weight I track. If I feel like I am bloated or constipated, I will weigh myself to check and if I am up, treat the problem. I also belong to TOPS. I get weighed there on Monday. I do not track this, as it is a different scale and sometimes the numbers are…

I have a Schnoodle and a Japanese Chin. The Schnoodle has decided to sleep on the floor at the foot of my bed, on a bed I have there. The Japanese Chin sleeps against my back. The cat has decided to live on the big chair in the living room. He is 20, and he can sleep where ever he wants to.

Worked out at Curves. Was low energy, but still raised my Smart to 2.19. Heart rate was between 74 and 76%

Due to back and knee injuries, I cannot kneel. It causes too much pain, and then I am crippled for the rest of the day. I will see if I can find some squat replacements.

It is reported to be starting at $350. Too rich for me, when I hesitate on getting a fit at $99. I have a flip phone, so I don't know if it will work when you do not have a smart phone.

You know what? Most people are too involved with what is going on with their own lives to be bothered about anyone else's. I have over 100 lbs. to lose. I am taking it slow and steady, as I have back and knee injuries. My best exercise is walking the dogs. It is something I have to do everyday, and I enjoy it. Make sure…

I worked out today. I am still suffering the effects of the cold/bronchitis I had. Near the end I started feeling sick. I backed it down a bit, but at the end, my heart rate was at 84%, 144 beats/min. I took extra time cooling down. Even though I worked hard, my Smart Card showed I had lost .4 of my workout number.

Impulse buying. If I do not have it in the house, I do not miss it. If I buy it, I have a hard time controlling my consumption of the cookies or chocolate bar. I eat way too many carbs. I also do not like meat, chicken, turkey or fish. I have a hard time getting enough protein in during the day. I found this new protein…

I will give it a try too.

I worked out in spite of having a cold. It started last Monday, so I did not work out last week. I thought I would take it easy, but I increased my Smart score. I coughed my way through the workout.

It is also for people like me, who is losing their close up vision. I have to step off the scale and bend down a bit to see what it recorded.

If you are in a safe area, go for a walk around the block, 2 or 3 times.

I have them at my Curves. I cannot really compare, as I only used the old machines twice, before the new ones came in.

No pain, no gain. Ugh. If you are really hurting, you are damaging yourself.
