The elliptical machine. Years ago I borke my jaw. I could do elliptical machine months before I could do any treadmill/running/etc, since it's no/low impact. It;s been my favorite by far ever since. Very easy on the knees/feet/body since it's no/low impact.

Love my FitBit. It does motivate me. I walk more and take the stairs instead of the elvevator a lot more since I've gotten it. I think it helps me keep better track of how many calories I'm acutally burning, which is important to know. I feel it's very accurate.

My advice is Moderation. Rather than try to cut out your favorite (unhealthy) foods, or really any type fo food, completely just use moderation. For me, it's soda. Instead of a 44 oz soda every day, I went down to a 20 oz soda a day, to now only having a 20 oz soda on Saturday and a 20 oz soda on Sunday. So many less…

I have the FitBit one and love it. Just clip it to my jeans pocket. If your worried about it falling off, clip it so the FitBit is in the pocket and the clip is outside the pocket. That way even if it does fall, it falls into the pocket. I work in an office on the computer typing, so I couldn't get the Flex since having it…

I like to have mine planned out a day or two in advance. But if something comes up, I go with it. The pre-entered plan is a guide, not a straight jacket for me. Having some pre-planning doesn't mean you can't be spontaneous.

Thanks for all the information and input. I've bought my new FitBit on Amazon.com. Thanks!!!

Wow! Lots of very helpful information and input. Thank you all so much!

I admire your restraint and self discipline. I think I'd be too tempted to eat back those calories...

Good to know! Thank you!!!

The only person who is a lost cause is the one who refuses to try. The person who is drowning because they refuse to even try to swim. That is NOT you. As long as you are trying you are NOT a lost cause. You can do this. It isn't easy, but you can do it.

Congratulations on your new baby, and best wishes on your weight loss journey.

Losing. Log daily. Weigh daily (first thing in the morning). I sometimes log the night before, or even a couple days before - planning ahead.

The best time to work out is whenever you will actually work out. For some, that's morning. For other's it's after work. For others it's while the kids are at school. For others... As a previous response said, actually doing the workout matters more than the time of day.

# 19 Some of us have been diagnosed, by a medical doctor, with an underactive tyroid and are on medicine for it - and will be the rest of our lives. If it's self diagnosis then you have a point.

As with ANY food: Moderation. As long as you account for it in your daily calorie count, you'll be fine. As another post mentions, we need some fat in our diet, and at least with cheese you're also getting protein. Also, no food is good or bad. Food is food... It's the amount that tends to be good or bad for our health.

First, so sorry for what you went through with finding out about the affairs. Maybe a non-weight goal. Do you have a favorite dress/pair of jeans/swim suit? Maybe one you don't own, but want? Maybe looking great in that can be your goal? I have a goal weight, but I also have the (more important to me) goal to look great in…

Beautifully said!!! I completely agree!

Congratulations on your engagement! Good luck on your weight loss journey.

I almost always plan the day ahead. I don't force myself to stick with it if plans change - it's a guide not a straight jacket - but I like having the paln in place the night before. I'll even plan a few days in advance before I go grocery shopping to make sure I get what I need. For example, yesterday a friend brought in…

Thank you so much for the kind words and support. It means a great deal to me! jmp463: You've lost so much and are so close to your goal weight! I'm impressed! susanrechter: You will... shlelagh: Keep working and you'll make it!

I'm just like you. I love the people here in MFP, but am traking Points and losing weight in WW. :-)

Eat what you want, in moderation. And make sure the treats are treats - not your entire diet. Yes, as long as you stay under your calorie goals you'll lose weight no matter what you eat, but you want to stay healty not just lose weight.

I'm 4'11". Was at 132. Within a week I was at 126. Over a month later I'm at 123. The first week or two it's normal to lose more weight, as it's mostly water weight. If that amount of weight continues to come off every week then worry. But enjoy the first week!

LOL! Love this answer!

Instead of a tuna salad sandwich I make a salmon salad sandwich. Salmon, mayo, and a little mustard mixed togeter. You can then add pickles, lettuce, etc, to make the sandwich.

Welcome! Congratulations on the granddaughter. I'm also in Utah.

Once a day. First thing in the morning.

Same!

Welcome back. Sounds like you really have the motivation to make it stick this time.
