Yes! Totally agree. I posted in another forum last night saying we have to stop beating ourselves up if we hit or go a bit over our calorie goals as, if we've set them sensibly, they already include a deficit. It's not good, really, that MFP gives kudos for coming under your calorie goal, and the terrible thing is I feel…

I agree. My first step is always to ask if they're ok and that I am worried that they haven't eaten much. I totally understand that some people are recovering from an eating disorder and may be here to increase their eating and I will very gladly support them, I just won't encourage people who are ill and thin to lose more…

Exactly. Some days we're ill, for example, and don't eat much, and that's totally different, but it's so obvious so quickly who the people are who have an under-eating/starvation disorder and it really upsets me when people congratulate them for their massive under-eating. I had someone add me with 'thin' in their username…

You've come to the right place! I've been here just under a month and this site has already changed my life for the better. People are so supportive and the food diary helps you to learn about and monitor your food intake. The first thing to do is find out what your real Daily Calorie goal should be, as the MFP default…

:) Glad to hear it!

Exactly! I'm actually over by 82 for today and I expect I'll have at least a few more calories before the day is over but that's ok because I'll still be at a deficit and most days I do eat at a 20% deficit. :)
-
Yeah, exactly! It's actually wrong, when you think about it, that MFP points out that you're under your calorie goal because it makes us all feel good when it says that and makes some of us feel bad when it doesn't. The key thing is to work out your TDEE and set your calorie goal with a defecit and then remember that…
-
Yeah, I like it when it says that! :) It made me laugh when MFP told me once 'If every day is like today you would weigh...in 5 weeks' and it was the same weight I am now. Ha ha.
-
Thank you for your thoughts too! Much appreciated. :)
-
I think you're right and it definitely helps me if I'm over on one day to remember that I was under on a couple of other days. Thanks! :)

Thanks! :) I do log intake because I'm very much a beginner at all this (been here less than a month, had a bad relationship with food and exercise for 33 years). At some point I hope to be eating and exercising well enough that I don't need to log intake but, for the time being, I need to. :)

Thanks! :)

I changed my goal to my TDEE minus 20% so that's sorted but if I go over that a bit I feel really bad but it's silly because I'm still at a deficit it's just not as much as 20% today. Do you see what I mean? I think many of us are a bit hard on ourselves.

You get what Alan Carr (UK TV presenter) calls 'chub rub' - when your thighs rub together when you walk.

You've come to the right place! MFP is amazing, with so many lovely, supportive people. I'll send you a friend request and if you want to be MFP friends that'd be great. I've been here about a month and I love this site and my amazing MFP friends. All the best! :)

My friend Emily recommended taking Bio-Chromium. I've been taking it for about a month and I still get sugar cravings sometimes and I do still eat sweet things but I think it's less so than before. It might be worth a try. Here's one of the pages I read before deciding to buy some:…

AMAZING! Congratulations and well done to you both! :)

I'm another shortie (5' 3) who is trying to lose the flab. I was unintentionally super-skinny for years (it's in the genes on my dad's side) and then in the last 3 years or so I've put on too many pounds to mention and they're all on my thighs, hips, and stomach. I'm so out of proportion and although I haven't had it…

When people say 'You can have a cheat day as long as you do it in moderation', I just think, how is that a cheat day if you're still thinking about 'moderation'? I really hope cheat days are ok.

Please tell me this is true!

Well done! Your hard work has paid off. You look amazing! x

Hi! It's 10:17am here in London, England. ;) It's nice to think we're in touch with people all over the world on here. :)

Thank you so much, lovely! I ordered a DVD called '10 Minute Solution: Tone Trouble Zones' and it's split into sections on Arm and Shoulders, Butt and Thigh, Abs, Total Body, and 10 Minute stretch. It uses a resistance band which I've also ordered. Do you think that sounds good? What cardio do you think is good for someone…

Thank you so much! Time to do some strength training. :)

From my experience, the only way that real cheesecake is going to fit your macros is if you eat half a slice and don't eat anything else all day. Please someone, prove me wrong! :)
-
You look lighter and much younger. Well done! Keep up the great work! :)
-
What an amazing story. Stay strong, both of you. Onwards and upwards! All the best from me in the UK. :)

Wow. I didn't expect to see his name mentioned here. I was a massive Man. Utd fan as a kid. He's a legend. This is his second retirement announcement. I think he deserves it. :)

Now I REALLY want junk food! Anyone care to share a double cheeseburger and fries with me? How soon can you get to North London, England? :)
