That is what I drink too...and use for my smoothies, etc. It is very good! I used the unsweetened original (no vanilla). 45g of calcium per 8oz serving.

Take a peek here. I am vegan and that is a challenge for me as well....just a matter of planning ahead. Some days I get it...some days I don't. http://www.livestrong.com/article/232757-calcium-rich-foods-for-vegans/

Thanks for your input. Changing over to a vegan diet is challenging in that carbs are the main source of my nutrition. I am aware of low glycemic foods, and have been focused on them for quite some time. My values were doing really good, on a downward trend for the first five weeks (I'm 6 weeks into changing to an animal…

These are wonderful! You can also use them as 'steak strips', slice them about 1" wide. Caramelize in a hot skillet with a touch of olive oil spray. Soooooo good, you'd swear you were eating steak!

Make sure you keep hydrated. That is my biggest challenge. As I increase my fiber intake by eating more fruits, veggies, and grains, I get in trouble because I don't drink enough water. I got one of those insulated BPA free tumblers with a straw (16 oz). I find I can drink more water if it's ice cold and I use a straw. My…

Me too Jordan! I am the sole vegan in my household, though as the mom and wife, I get to cook all my own meals. However, we have all types of food in the house. My husband cooks his stuff and I cook mine. I try to do at least one vegan family meal a week that we can all enjoy. The hope is to build an 'arsenal' from which…

Thanks for the add! I just started a group "Eating Vegan for Health"...thought it might be nice to have a place to go for strictly vegan info...although all the recipes on here look good enough to eat, I really can't 'do' chicken and such *smiles* I hope you join and share your ideas and recipes! Super simple 'banana cookies': 2 bananas mashed (more ripe is better) 1 C old fashioned oats (not instant) That's all you need, but add-ins are good too. I have made a chocolate version using pure cocoa powder (no sweeteners or milk). Cinnamon, raw cashews (chopped); chia seeds (adds protein); craisins, raisins, etc. (not…

Hi Rose, My name is Christina...I am a vegan (new) and also cannot exercise. I am a thyroid cancer survivor. During the surgery to remove my thyroid, they had to scrape a tumor from one of my vocal chords, causing permanent paralysis. This left me without much of a voice, which I needed. So, I had an implant inserted to…
