New vegan for health improvemet

 Hello,
My name is Christina. I am a new vegan, looking to improve my health and successfully manage type 2 diabetes. I am interested in learning all I can about vegan cooking, sharing recipes, sharing struggles and successes, and just getting to know others here in the My Fitness Pal community.

I will be posting pictures and recipes in my blog on this site, look for Cedvegan. This is actually really cool, because I've been using Facebook to share my pictures, and while some people 'get it' others don't *smiles*

Please feel free to add me as a friend, or leave a comment, etc. I look forward to meeting many new friends.

  • I'm vegan too!

Or I try to be... most of the time. I was vegan for four years and healthy and lovin it! Then I went on a trip where it was hard to be vegan, and wound up gaining a fair amount of weight :\ (which is why I'm here!)

Love to share recipes / give vegan advice if you want. I just friended you :)

Thanks for the add! I just started a group "Eating Vegan for Health"...thought it might be nice to have a place to go for strictly vegan info...although all the recipes on here look good enough to eat, I really can't 'do' chicken and such *smiles*

I hope you join and share your ideas and recipes!

    Christina
  • I am vegan when I'm eating meals I've prepared. I'd love a new vegan friend to share recipes with!

Me too Jordan! I am the sole vegan in my household, though as the mom and wife, I get to cook all my own meals.
However, we have all types of food in the house. My husband cooks his stuff and I cook mine. I try to do at least one vegan family meal a week that we can all enjoy. The hope is to build an 'arsenal' from which to draw and maybe add more meals per week.

I know how you feel about the vegan label....I am vegan primarily for health reasons, so I tend to say the word more softly around those who are vegan for ethical reasons.... but I really want to make sure my food is truly vegan, so...there is only one word that fits.

I'm so glad you joined the group and I'm pleased to make your acquaintance!
