I tried the switch to whole grain as well but still gained weight. I love fruit but it is so high on e glycemic index, I think staying under 50g of carbs a day is my best bet. I'm on meds for insulin regulation so I'm hoping that will help now.

I'm going to be doing more research. I think I will just mainly stick to low carb all around. I do like healthy fats such as all natural PB and nuts. I think I will just carb cycle. The differences between Keto and Atkins are pretty marginal, but I'm just going to go with my gut.

I've done Keto plenty of time, I typically fail after a few weeks because it is so restrictive. I mainly like Atkins because I can have some dairy, the cheese allows me to keep my sanity and stay on track.

I don't eat any bars or prepare foods, I prefer to use whole foods and eat clean.

There really isn't a huge difference between the two in my opinion, because the foods that i do eat are clean and gluten free. you are allowed to have carbs with gluten free such as quinoa and such but i cant handle the carbs. I wish I was able to do that but I am insulin resistant therefore extremely carb sensitive. I'm under the care of a naturopath at the moment who is closely monitoring my insulin and thyroid levels to keep them optimal for weight loss. I just don't respond to eating carbs.

My mother in law invites me over several times a weeks and always wants me to have a glass of wine with her and to eat pizza. No matter how many time I tell her it isn't on my diet she still constantly asks. It gets annoying but I am the one that makes the decisions.

No, after you start to admire the new you and get a little bit cocky(you deserve that), the confidence comes and the mental notes leave as well. I believe you will always remember your battles with weight and those will keep you grounded.

With insulin resistant PCOS I am only able to lose weight with restricting my carbs to around 50grams a day. I am seeing a Naturopath now who just took blood yesterday to get new readings I will likely go on Metformin, I've never had issues with it and I will accept any help I can get regulating my insulin level. Thanks for your posts ladies, keep up the good work. I am struggling with my weight loss, mainly due to hormone issues and thyroid issues post pregnancy but your photos are inspiration. I have managed to gain wieght after the initial baby weight loss. :(

As we get older we can no longer eat what we want and exercise and still expect to lose weight. Try cutting sugar out of your diet and any white starchy carbs that will make a huge difference. Also, have you had your hormones checked? Mine went haywire after I had my son, to the point where I was in menopause.

Just make sure your doctor wants to fix your hormones as much as you do, and get copies of your blood work.

I finished day 7 today, I'm doing the shred in addition to 5 days a week of heavy lifting in the gym so I am really hoping to see some great results.

I eat 6 times a day and have 30 grams of protein at each meal and I have 100 calories of fats during each meal as well. It does feel like I am constantly eating but the results are phenomenal. I only have carbs three times a day.

Cardio, you have to get leaner to lose it. Otherwise you can use the leg adductor machine but that will just promote muscle building which will push you fat out even more.

I don't think a lot of realize how much hard work and training it actually takes to get muscle definition. You have to try to get it, you won't just bulk up by exercising.
