Wow, I never knew this ... I was always told to add a little oil... going to do more water in a bigger pot and less time from now on. Big Thank You to everybody and for even asking the question.

++++++1. I agree. wow on the nuts and peanut butter. There is a learning curve with food weighting and most on the boards are very helpful to point us in the right direction. They have some great tricks. <3

There is a great sticky on the boards something like...." so you want a flat stomach"... you should try and find it to read... I think in general . Hopefully someone else will come along and post the link for you. Best of Luck.

I wish you the best of luck !! (so glad you aren't upset about me looking at your food log).. :)
-
I just checked your diary for a few weeks, seems you need to weight and log your food by weight. ie oz/grams...I know at times you cant so go with the package info... but when you can weigh the foods/drinks/condiments. don't use cups, 15 pieces, 1 medium banana, etc.... weight everything you can. Nuts can be wayyy off on…

2 month is not to long, but you should see a little downward movement. If you charted your weight loss for those 2 month would the overall look be downward? as you probably know weight loss is not linear. If not, double check your calorie count, you may be eating more than you think or as said water weight. The way it…

I believe it is safe to use the cans nutrient values... some quantities in the can may be off by 10%-0%, ie. ounces. It really is not much usually, . so I wouldn't worry about it. How long have you been at this.... if only 2 weeks, give it more time, there is some water weight due to increase exercise. On the sugar,…

Your fine, none taken. I was hoping to get back on track to the walking and strength, instead of the "definition serious runner".
-
Thank you, ( I must have missed your previous post) So a beginner walking up hill till they cant take it any more is working towards leg strength but will come to a point when it will no longer work when you don't get to that "cant take it any more" point. I walk a lot of pastures with huge gullies (wash outs), I guess I…

Sorry, you are not going to gain muscle eating at a deficit and it takes a long time to add a pound of muscle doing progress weight training. (newbie gains possible) Yes, you will see your body shape changing so take measurements or pictures. But for weight loss you need to be in a calorie deficit.... usually by eating…
-
Good question... is the resistance considered when walking up hill.

I have the fitbit charge hr... is it worth it? to me yes.... but 20 years ago, NO. It is not necessary, it may help me lose weight a little bit, but if I couldn't afford to get one, I wouldn't. It all comes down to money and how You want to spend it.... necessities first, bills, food, shelter, etc... if you are having…

haha.... need some antibacterial soap on that kale....
-
What about your diet? Have you been eating less? To lose weight you have to eat less calories than you burn.
-
Have you been checked for allergies.? May be allergic to something you are eating.
-
I have the charge hr.... I like it, is fun to see all the stats and the challenges are fun to do. I like checking my heart rate when out wogging, it pushes me to go faster. The wrist band does not bother me, I don't even realize it is there, but that is a personal preference so you may like the clip on better. Depends on…

A lot of people do snacks and "cheat meals", but keep it under calorie goal or at maintenance. If they do go over you can balance the calories out over the week to make up for it. Carbs fill me up and I stay fuller longer. Maybe you are talking cake, donuts? Sugar and carbs are not evil, they can fit into a day fine and…

I agree with all the advice from kshama2001. Calories look good, and if you can walk some do it, if not ok too. Good Luck.
-
My day numbers are like yours. desk job... to get 10000 I do a hour walk in the evening. I walk as fast as I can, then slow down a bit, then fast as I can again... you get my point. :)
-
Wow, that is a big increase. What state do you live in?... or should I ask what part of the U.S (if in US) do you live in?
-
Yes, you are losing at a good rate. When you log your food you get a better understanding of their calorie/nutrient count and this helps in the long run. Later on it may get harder due to getting close to weight goal, so be prepared for that. What some are saying is don't restrict to much, can cause a blow out of whatever…
-
So you have mfp set to maintain and you're creating your deficit with only exercise? This is becoming more relevent to the current thread. If you have 85 calories "earned" that's not your only deficit, that's on top of how much you put into mfp that you wanted to lose. So unless your goal is maintenance, you have a bigger…

I'm already thinking about just giving them to my sons.... they will eat anything !

I have never tried one but like you I hear about them all the time.. well, the store had them on sale 10for10, which I don't even know if that is a "sale price"..lol.. I picked up a couple to try, but haven't yet. Good to hear they weren't disgusting just mehhh. I didn't even think to heat them, I assumed like granola bar,…

Awesome work !!! You have to be real accurate in your logging the closer you get to goal weight.. but I am sure this plateau to shall pass.
-
Love it !!!! keep dancing !! :D

To me this rant is an observation at a gym, so yes it matters. They aren't looking for a pt they are observing. Many make snap judgments in all aspects of life, as pointed out many times. Now if they were searching for a pt, I am sure they would do more research on them and make the judgment from that. Any business wants…

I just kept going up in clothes sizes... 6,8,10.12... 12 was the last straw, I was telling myself I deserved to gain a few pounds, I raised 3 boys, worked hard... I could handle a few extra pounds. It was just getting out of control, then I took a good look in the mirror and didn't recognize myself... I was always normal…

I would say I mainly read the recent discussions to find more hints. The experienced people who post I kind of track what they say. I belong to a couple Groups but not active in them. The Stickies are great. I also love reading the success stories....
