  • : ) I'm 5'5 and medium size built. Aiming for 135 pounds, almost there!
  • Start in small steps. It's a great thing that your friends are encouraging you to jog, but that sudden physical change might cause more harm to your joints. I recommend start slowly. Walking is a good step, go for time rather than distance. As for the pain your experiencing, best advice is to get medical advice from a…
  • Generally, 1200 is the minimum you would want to eat to sustain your normal bodily functions. People have eaten just 1000 calories and been okay with it, but it really depends on your body dimensions (height, frame, age). I would advise against eating 1000 calories unless advised to by a doctor.
  • Rice is a major component for thai and vietnamese cooking, >.< I MUST have it. Too much of anything can be bad for you. Although rice is good, i think of it more as a filler than any real nutrition. I still eat it in most dishes but reduce the portion sizes. Portion control is always important. I find if i eat too much…
  • I prefer Almond milk for its nutritional benefits like: usually fortified with B12 vitamins, low carbohydrates, less saturated fat and the flavour is pretty mild. Honestly, I really like the flavor of soy milk but i'm a bit afraid of the hormonal effects it might have even though minor. I have pcos, so it's a bit of a…
  • Hi, I've given up pasta, but not potatoes. I reduce my intake of potatoes or starcharchy foods due to insulin resistance, and i find myself not as hungry afterwards. Personally, it just wasn't worth 50 minutes of running to burn off a bowl of -delicious- pasta (GOD. i want some right now) but if its something you enjoy, i…
  • Yum, both ideas sound good! Thank you knittnponder and Mystikalbeanz
  • My goal is to drop 25 pounds : ) feel free to add me as a friend
  • I like working out in the evening preferably before dinner. :) that way I have a lot of energy and I can gauge what I can eat later
  • I was diagnosed with pcos, with pcos comes a higher chance of being infertile and diabetic. Although im young, I've always wanted kids.. I always kid that I could never see nyself with kids vut if it comes true, I think it'll be devastating for me. :) with weight loss comes with looking as a sexy beast too :p
  • I'm 5'5 and my ultimate goal weight is to be 135-140 pounds or have a 25% body fat. Whatever comes first :)
  • I commend you for being courageous and trying to make a good change for yourself by exercising. The hardest thing is removing yourself from your safe zone and pushing yourself in public. It can make anyone feel vulnerable, but as time goes by, that vulnerability grows into strength. Continue working out and remember,…

  • Reading this is a bit discouraging.... I've been diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago and started eating 1500 calories a day for 3 weeks, but haven't really lost that much weight. I read somewhere that PCOS carriers have to be cautious with sugar intake because we might be insulin resistant? This makes me worry about eating a…
  • Over eating has been a challenge for me. What helps me though is eating high fibrous foods like raspberries, beans (ohh especially beans!) and nuts. It makes me feel fuller longer. Portion control important too. If your eating at home, just mentally prep yourself by putting your food into a smaller dish/bowl. It gave me…
  • Burpees = hell I love the feeling at the end, but oh man, it wasn't fun at all to do. I'll do burpee once in awhile to change routine. I usually do it while watching blogilates video

  • Laughing cow cheese triangles... YUMMM Without reading the calorie labels, i always thought it was like 100 a piece but was surprise it was 70 for 2 of them! Cheese is my a weak spot :p Another surprise was that Fibre 1 make these chocolate brownies for 110 calories. Chocolate needs fulfilled.
  • Pho Ga aka Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup - Either chicken broth or 1 breast chicken in 3 cups of water (chopped) - Anise stars - 1 Yellow Onion, charred - 2 tbsp ginger, : ) I like the flavour of charred ginger - 2 tbsp Fish sauce - Black pepper - Some salt.. adjust to your liking - 2 tbsp coriander seeds toasted - 3…
  • Personally, I would skip the energy drinks. Too much caffeine is bad for you and usually energy drinks load up on a lot of sugar. I have PCOS so too much sugar is a no no for me. Weight loss is about calories in vs calories out, so i would advise not to drink your calories all the time. Water is always the healthier…
  • A Torontonian here : ) Feel free to add or message me
  • I love Iced Green tea, just good old regular steep green tea with ice. If i feel like a real treat, >.> I'll get myself a Bubble tea preferrably the Milk tea flavour or pineapple

  • Hey, I think breakfast really helps the body's metabolism and can also help supress hunger in the afternoon. I find i don't eat as much for lunch when i have breakfast and I definitely feel more energetic. I don't really like time consuming meals in the morning so i'll either have 1 serving of fruit like a banana or an…
  • I'm 5'5 and wear a size 12 for comfort. Depending on the store and material of the pants, i can sometimes fit in a size 10 weight 159 - 160
  • Some days i feel in the same boat. What helps for me is eating fibrous foods that make me feel full but don't have as many calories (beans, lentils, raspberries). I find when i eat refine carbs like rice, noodles or bread... I feel full but quickly have an urge to eat again shortly after. So after 5pm, i avoid refined…
  • Take her to the doctor to get a check up. Personally, I wouldn't recommend teaching her how to count calories.. I know it works for some people, but I think the main emphasis should be on healthy eating. Does she eat out of boredom? Is she watching tv or surfing the internet for several hours? What foods are available for…
  • I guess it was acknowledging the real problem. The problem wasn't that i was overweight, but it was that I was living unhealthy. My philosophy needed to change. I ate everything on my plate because "it was worth my buck" and 'snacked a lot' to fill boredom. I knew that it was unhealthy, but was not able to stop. : ) I'm…
