  • I always thought that was why women were referred to as the "weaker sex". Victorians referred to faint women having "vapors" politely (this later was used to describe any woman thinking for herself, such as suffragettes). We already know medieval ladies were kept secluded with other women, indoors, during that time. I…
  • The intense pain usually lasts 1-2 days for me, the rest of TOM can proceed as normal. An occasional rest day is a good thing. I've been looking into the EPBOT blog writer's suggestion of using a corset to apply pressure and how that can help the pain; I haven't found a corset I like that isn't wildly expensive, lol.
  • I won't spend my life avoiding Chinese buffets/takeout, so I am fitting it in now. Not even a cheat; it can totally fit if I want it to. Once a month at least. Walnut shrimp, beef with broccoli, a small lo mein and an egg roll or wonton. But after a half marathon (only two under my belt so far) I eat all the things.
  • You are going to be told you can't spot reduce. Also you can't grow muscle while eating at a deficit. That being said, what are your stats and how long have you consistently followed the gym regime you have outlined here?
  • Did this at work :)
  • OP my son is 4 but when he kissed my belly and asked when the baby was coming I felt so hurt. I'm sorry you went through that and are still struggling through the day; maybe baby steps instead of tackling the whole thing at once?
  • I prefer to eat fast, personally.
  • Amazon has tons of GF stuff, they were my source back when I spent a few months GF. (Didn't help me as much as it helped other family members.)
  • Did some bouncing by the printer :)
  • Recumbent bicycling has been an amazing help for me after a knee injury. It doesn't burn a ton but it is movement and there are times I can feel that old familiar burn.
  • I tried going gf a few years ago when several people in my dad's side (including dad) were diagnosed with celiac's. After a month I didn't feel better, hadn't lost weight, and really missed bread.
  • How tall are you? Maybe set it at maintenance but eat 100 cal under, slow but sure.
  • I used to do it weekly, then monthly. Now I am doing it day to track trends in my reset.
  • Measuring tape. This had a good side effect. I have regained some weight but my inches are smaller than the last time I weighed this much. It's motivating to know I still have muscle under all this!
  • Weds. was still packed, but Thurs. was a ghost town; I wondered if I had missed a memo. Today was about normal. A bunch of local trainers and nutrition-type businesses started "win money for losing" competitions within the last week so I estimated the drop off wouldn't happen until late February. We'll see.
  • 73! I love jumping jacks, I do them in front of the microwave at work. Husband offered me 30 bucks if I do it again... naked. Maybe after a few more pounds lost...
  • Yay, though I walk through the aisles of chocolate and cookies I shall feel no evil, for thou art with me. Thy carrot and jerky stick comfort me. Gives a whole new meaning to "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies" for sure.
  • Depends on the packet. As always, check the ingredient list and nutrition information. IIFYM.
  • Oh I completely agree on the variation! I know my body, which is what I described, and the OP seemed similar to my situation, so I shared.
  • I always know I'm overeating because #2 will happen every day. I'm personally pretty happy having it happen 2-3 times a week. I do drink coffee and take a daily fiber supplement, to make sure I'm not constipated, but as my GP told me when I mentioned it to him "Less garbage in, less garbage out. "
  • My motivation comes from a ton of little measurements. Maybe I didn't lose weight on the scale, but a half inch came off my thighs. Walking longer, running farther. Already signed up for my favorite half marathon (they give out dinosaur shaped medals, it's the best). Pick little weekly goals and stay on a roll!
  • Love Propel! If price is an issue you can buy the flavor packet (box of 10 for $2 US at Walmart) and mix your own with municipal water. Propel doesn't have the high sugar and caffeine content of a Dew so it's probably an improvement. Full disclosure....I drink a can of diet Dew daily. I used to drink a c-store cup daily,…
  • More likely your changed eating habits you blame on shift work than the shot. I lost 40-ish pounds while on depo. Fast but safe? Set your goal on MFP to lose .5-1 pound a week. Lift lots of heavy weights. Measure and count everything you eat. It will happen, I promise you. The most important part is sticking to it. Making…
  • Breakfast and Lunch down, no foreseen problems with dinner.
  • I'm going on a 2 week business trip. It is a road trip. I have planned out my snacks already and am bringing them along (no TSA yay), have a shopping list for my in room fridge when I settle in, insisted on a hotel with a gym, and do plan on going a bit over in the weekend at restaurants BUT refuse to feel guilty about it.…
  • I like to do a little more in the house, but do my walking outside. Would a little folding desk cycle that you can use while reading or watching tv be doable for you? I'm thinking doing something different might not trigger the internal symphony as much.
  • How much are you eating? Calories In is as important as Calories Out.
  • How do you define "only healthy"? How long have you been using the calorie tracker? Also curious on your stats, age/height/current weight and what your daily MFP goal is right now?
  • Just got a call that the daughter's cello lesson is cancelled today. So I think we will do some walking laps together at the rec center. If I had any plans to go anywhere with an elevator/escalator I would do that, but alas, small town America has few such opportunities.
