  • You could try doing a recumbent bike, if you really want to work out. But if I were you, I'd probably stay home and do some resting. With ibuprofen.
  • I eat essentially the same breakfast every day, was worried I'd get bored but not yet! I've considered doing something similar with lunch and dinner but my husband and kids would rebel against that, I am sure.
  • I always weigh more the day after not drinking enough water. When I drink enough water, I maintain or weigh less. This is assuming that I'm staying within my caloric deficit, of course. I prefer to weigh daily, it makes the up-down thing less shocking. What if I picked a bad day every week to weigh and thought I was just…
  • You say it Looks like it's gaining. Have you been taking measurements? It's possible that you are losing fat elsewhere but not your stomach, so it just looks larger in proportion.
  • What on earth, Fashionsack? You've never been pregnant have you? 12 hours a day workouts is pretty much impossible for non-pregnant people, much less someone who is undergoing the stresses and pain of pregnancy. ** OP I had lost around 20 pounds and was about 175 lbs when I became pregnant with my son. I couldn't stand the…
  • My daughter has swimming lessons twice a week. I WILL run on a treadmill while she's at those lessons. I will also take her to the pool for practice at least once a week, and will get in and swim/play around too. I've REALLY slacked off on my physical activity since it's gotten colder here. I would like to weigh in at 156…
  • When I was in high school I was 143-147. I had rocking abs, and wore US size 6-8 clothing. I am now 158-160, US size 10-12. I am stronger and faster than I was in high school, but have a layer of fat over the muscles. I estimate I will be happy with my body at 140-145. I am 28 years old.
  • I am pleased to say I hit 157.8 a few days ago, but my end of month weigh in was again 159. I did not gain this month, did a lot of walking, and continued with the healthy eating choices (just didn't do well with a calorie count). I am OK with my journey this month.
  • Even Depo varies from person to person. I am a mess when I'm off it--nearly all my weight gain (and related mood swings) were when I wasn't on the shot. All loss this year has been while on it.
  • Haha! I can laugh about this. I have been maintaining my weight at 159-160, however I have also been using a tape measure and have lost some quarter and half inches here and there. If I don't weigh 156 by Halloween, well at least I'll still be a bit firmer and smaller. My women's running group is on hiatus due to people…
  • I think you should post a copy of your restaurant's menu here so we can all salivate and tell you what we'd eat  Also, is there anywhere you can keep a labeled bottle of ice water? I was concerned when you said you were thirsty, keeping hydrated would really help with snack cravings.
  • A lot of people track their calves, too.
  • 1. Throw out the scale. 2. Get out a measuring tape and start tracking measurements. 3. Take a selfie in the mirror. 4. Eat more. Lots more. Carbs, proteins, whatever. I'm a woman and older than you, and eat a minimum of 1700 kcal/day to lose. Bet you could do at least 2000. 5. Lift heavy weights. 6. Check your tape…
  • Is this a joke? 22 year old male, 20 ish pounds to lose, 500 calories and exercise every day...how have you not collapsed/fainted yet?
  • PS--I am 5'6", 10 years older than you, office job, and lose at 1700 cal/day, eating back my exercise calories. So no, there's no way 1440 is too many calories for you, unless you have totally screwed over your metabolism (and if so it should return to normal after some time of normal eating).
  • You are an 18 year old female who is recovering from an ED? Your BMI is 19.5 Normal weight BMI is 18.5-24.9 As you are recovering from an ED and have been following an unhealthy diet as recently as last week, I suggest you up your calories (a lot) and look to maintain healthily rather than losing. *My 2 cents.
  • When I first saw the picture, before it became widely known and designated controversial, I liked it. I've made excuses for 8+ years. I come from an extended family of overweight people who have various health problems, some causing the weight and some caused by it. My mother struggled with her weight all her life, she's a…
  • I just wanted to say that every time I scroll past this thread I think of the Babylon 5 episode " A Distant Star": [arguing over a 'food plan' given by Dr. Franklin] Lt. Commander Susan Ivanova: I'll *gain* weight! Dr. Stephen Franklin: At first, yes. Lt. Commander Susan Ivanova: Fine! All my life I've fought against…
  • Look into getting some foot pedals under your desk, maybe you can pedal while you work. Also, you can try twitching. Curl your toes, move your feet in slow circles, clench and release your calf muscles, then your thighs, then glutes. Then start over with your toes. Move on to shoulders, and down your arms. It's not much…
  • My coworker's father in law did it last year. Everyone was amazed at his quick change, lost around 60 pounds for the holiday. As of my coworker's wedding in August, he's gained it all back.
  • There have been days when I was stressed or busy and couldn't log that day. Example, the day we drove across state for a funeral. I kept a mental tally, the next day logged some approximate numbers and moved on. Still lost that week though I did hold water weight for a couple days. So long as it doesn't happen too often,…
  • If you don't have a health reason to worry about sugars (diabetic, triglycerides etc) and you know that most of your intake is from naturally occurring sources (ie fresh fruit) then, were I you, I wouldn't worry about it.
  • She posted what I was thinking ^^ How long have you been eating this diet and doing this exact exercise regimen? And what caused you to cut calories to 1000 or less net?
  • ^^^^Spam OP, if you are still looking for suggestions, I hope you used the calculator to figure out your calories. I injured my knee last spring and it slowed me down a bit. I saw a physical therapist for several months and did the exercises he taught me. Also concentrated on upper-body weights. I highly suggest it.
  • I cut it out mostly, when I do drink now I have found I became a lightweight, lol. If you go for shots of liquor with diet soda, or alternate with water, instead of higher calorie drinks, you should be able to get tipsy with low calories, I think :) I don't consider it a "plateau" to not lose for one week, I think it has…
  • No. Many of us have manually overridden our suggested calculations. Do a quick forum search on TDEE, it may be the best choice for you.
  • You might up your calories to 1 pound loss/week instead. Also, do you eat back your exercise calories?
  • What she said ^^^ Try getting your body fat % and see if that's something you need to lower, instead of weighing less on a body scale.
  • Iphone protection and running shoes here. Occasionally something clothing wise, varying from ballgowns to Under Armour clothing. I simply must buy a new ballgown in my smaller size. For my next Zumba class, I think...
