  • Just starting back myself. Completed the program twice before, then injured myself in non-running activities. Have fun with it!
  • I just unburied our total gym from the storage room. It's probably and original model! It still works and I figured why not! I am starting the C25K all over again after an ankle injury sidelined me for 4 months. I am completely at the beginning of that program :( Today I found a youtube video "Lose a dress size in 4 weeks"…
  • If you are interested. The best deal I have found recently is from WalMart You receive a $10 WalMart Card and a $20 rebate http://www.walmart.com/ip/SodaStream-Genesis-Home-Soda-Maker-Starter-Kit-with-Bonus-10-Gift-Card-and-20-Mail-in-Rebate/37813903 If you drink straight seltzer. This makes it much more affordable.…
  • I'll have to take at look at your Zombie 5K, never heard of it. I love Rundouble. And it links to MFP (at least the Droid version does - I'm having trouble with the iphone version doing so.) I completed the program having never run more than 2 steps in my life, before starting. Son is 1/2 way through, and hubby started…
  • Update, Syncing worked fine with my Droid. Not so much with my iPhone. I guess there are a few bugs I need to work out. Still Rundouble is a great app! 3rd family member has started running with it! :flowerforyou:
  • Hey Bobbinalong! That is exactly what I did! Roasted vegs for Thanksgiving and now soup tonight! In addition to the routine roots we also had anise, Golden beets, and celery root.
  • Having the same dilemma. On week 8 and running the 28 minutes is hard, but I think because I am trying to accomplish the distance in the time frame. ie 28 min = 2.8 miles sort of. I am at about 2.45 miles in that time. I think today, I'll switch to distance and go slower. See how it goes. Want to run a 5 k next week :(…
  • WK5 D3 (yesterday) Tickled Pink as I nailed it!! 20 minute run of 2 miles :) Happy dance!!!!      :flowerforyou:
  • This morning's run was W5D1. Fantastic, 8 weeks ago I could/wouldn't run 10 yards! And yes, I started in Aug. Stopped due to knee problems and then repeated W3 when I started up again. So...here I am in Sept :)
  • https://www.facebook.com/rundouble?fref=ts Rundouble's Facebook page has a picture. It's my new mantra. "No matter how slow I go, I am still lapping everybody on the couch!" :blushing:
  • cinhei I was told that if it is very hard perhaps I am trying to go too fast. I didn't believe this but I do know that when my knees were sore and I could barely take steps I "ran" very slowly. I felt I could run forever!!! Now not so much. I redid Wk 3 as I took a week off to let my knees heel. This time around I pushed…
  • I will attempt Wk4 D1 tomorrow. I started ok with Wk 1 and 2. Knees hurt through Wk 3. Tried Wk 4 and nearly keeled over!! Took a week off to let the knees heel a bit. Redid Wk3 - knees ok but I don't feel very good about it. But onto Wk 4 tomorrow!! I'd be happy to support others :) Happy running!!
  • Running should help make longer lean muscles (however - sprinters do tend to bulk up) If you are starting out and 3 miles is your goal you might want to look up the "Rundouble" C25K App (unfortunately only compatible with the android phones) The App (and even the rundouble webpage) gives you a plan of walk/run to bring you…
  • Thank you!! Inspiration from real people is really what I need! Knowing you accomplished this by pushing yourself and sticking to it shows me I can too. You should be very proud of yourself, and you will reap the health benefits for years to come!
  • Very impressive!!! Inspirational!
  • Really? I did not know that! Was planning on that for dinner, now will look it up first!
  • End of Wk 1 for me - First 5 lbs came off pretty quickly. But been bouncing the last few days up and down a few pounds. I'm ok with that as I've added cardio and strength. My body is rebelling! It aches! But I'm not hungry just tired. Sleeping through the night for the first time in years! Hoping I'm building some muscle…
  • That is amazing!! It's what it is all about! Being healthy.

  • I'm over 50 and need to loose 25 lbs. I know it's not the number you asked for in your post, but weight loss is weigh loss, right? It's been stubborn on my own and would love company on the journey. (And I'm in NY - but it's a big state!)
  • Been at this 2 weeks now and this morning was down a total of 5 lbs! Yes!!!! My goal weight is still another 20 lbs away, but I'm headed in the right direction.
  • Other than the Heart Rate monitor with Calorie convertor, I would go on the conservative side and with what the C25K app says. When I've compared my daily calories burned to other sites for similar activity it is pretty close. Mind you i am more of a waager than a jogger or runner so mine are on the low side. Usually 215 -…
  • Definitely look at the Rundouble APP. I'm not a runner. No, let's be 100% correct. I HATE running! But I need something low cost, flexible to my time of day, and with motivation. This app seems to give me all that. I'm only in Wk1 D3 (will be today as soon as it stops raining). And I'm not dreading it yet. Pick an upbeat…

  • This is exactly what I need to do! Going on vacation end of October and wold love to be 20 lbs lighter. I've started counting calories with MFP. I also started C25K, not that it is advertised as a weight lose plan, actually most people seem to gain weight :( But I am so unfit and it seems manageable. 30 mins 3X week. And…
  • Interesting, I only read 1/2 the replies I will admit. However, I am amazed at the number of "let him cook his own food" type replies? Marriage is about compromise. There are so many ways to make our 'regular' menus healthier without losing taste and variety. Portion size for starters. Larger salads, vegetable portions.…
  • Will give them a try but that is more than my normal breakfast so it will have to be for lunch.
  • Excellent!!! You have accomplished amazing results thus far! Nothing about loosing weight, or getting fitter is 'cheesy' and you should celebrate this victory!!!! I also have just started the C25K and myfitnesspal with the intent of getting fitter and hopefully leaner. GREAT JOB!!!!
