I've done the same both ways actually. When I was about 20 I was a (UK) size 8 and over the next 5-6 years I increased to a size 14 and at my heaviest was wearing a size 16. My mental self image was of me at around a size 10 and I couldn't get my head round the overweight, unfit reflection I was seeing in the mirror. Now I…

After a w/e of partying hard, I am defo ready 4tomoro! Am a bit worried about taking my measurements after indulging so, but will suck it up & do it!

Don't give up! I didn't lose for a month, but I was still exercising and I was losing inches during that time... I don't know if it made a difference, or if after a month my body was ready to start losing weight again anyway, but I changed my goals from a 1lb/wk loss to a 1/2lb/wk loss, which gave me more calories to play…

Hey - wanted to bump this thread anyway - just to remind us all that we're 6packing it from Monday! But....by my maths, there are 42 days in 6 weeks, so L1 is 21 days and L2 is 21 days! Obviously people might be doing it 5 days a week (I intend to initially), what if we record measurements when we've done 11 days of L1,…

I think the main difference between doing an exercise a day or repeating it later in the same day, even with snacks and water, is sleep, which is hugely restorative! I did the 30DS and I also did other cardio afterwards, I built up to it, because for the 1st 5days my quads were burning like mad! Now I have been doing some…

I don't think there's any actual harm involved, they are short workouts...but you might not see as good results as you would if you spread it over the 30 days - perhaps because your body doesn't get chance to rest in between.

I think it also depends on your activity level set. I have an allotment, but because I'm not down there everyday and it's not part of my daily activity, I have put sedentary as my activity level and I log gardening as a separate activity, which according to MFP gives me a calorie burn of about 500Kcal / 120 min. I know…

Yeah...I'm a bit like that too! Ther r some crazy side plank leg raises at the end tho that make me long for mountain climbers tho!!
-
I have been doing L1 for a bit as part of my exercise routine, and I don't think there is a lot of cardio in it. There are plank jacks and mountain climbers, the fat burning comes from combining the strength / ab work with lunges and squats and the sheer pace of it!

I made mine open to my friends, for many of the reasons already said. A couple of weeks ago I made it open generally, I did that for on the odd occasion I might ask for help and people would be able to see what I was eating / drinking. I don't know how I'd feel if some one was negative or judgemental, I am accountable to…

Seems to be a good idea and general consensus! (I've never done a quote in a forum reply - NSV me!!!)

Ru gonna record measurements etc? You had great results on the shred, I lost inches but only 2lb. I thought I would record measurements of my hips, waist and under bust as it is a core workout...does that sound about right? I'm pretty excited about this now, I loved being part of a group when I did the shred, it was so…

I've done a bit of this, as part of a JM combo! After 22nd May I am looking to change my exercise routine, so I may well join in on Monday. How many days / week are you planning on doing it? She says at least 5 to see awesome results! In my combo, I've been doing it twice a week, but would start from scratch proper with…

It's great that you have someone to motivate you - perhaps your trainer could help you when you're feeling like it's not working? Personally, I get motivated by looking on these forums, reading other people's successes and seeing how they've done really motivates me when I'm getting a bit fed up with it all!

Mines open- feel free to browse! And add me if u wd like!

I got mine from lidl, it was £15.99 and comes with a chest strap. It seems fine, shows calories burned and has chronometer & pedometer (Altho I don't use them). The chest strap is comfortable enuf. I wasn't in the position to buy an expensive one but I wanted a guide to what I was burning. I'm happy :-)

lol @jojo- probably, now you've put it on here! I did think of contacting her website, I mean, who doesn't want to make more money?! It's a region thing. I can get it, but I don't think it will work on my machine. It will on my computer, but er, there's not enough room to swing a cat up here, let alone weights! I'm trying…

I do the thickest bit cos that's the bit I'm interested in reducing!

When I started exercising, I used the wii fit and it helped me to build up my stamina and energy after an operation. I lost some weight initially, I think this stalled once my body had got used to the intensity of the exercise. The things I enjoy doing on it are / were: Free step for 30 min Wii step extra (5 min) Boxing,…

I'll be keeping a check on you guys (with an green envious tinge on my face!).

These are great progress pix - well done! Have you gone up to L2 yet?

I have the ones you can currently get in the UK - 30DS, NMTZ, BFBM and 6wk6pack. I've done 30DS, am doing the other three on a rotation, but tbh I'm losing motivation with them at the moment and I think it's because when I did the shred, I joined a thread and we all posted how we found each day, which kept me motivated.…

I found this a struggle when I first started on here. I kept logging everything though, because as ugly as it looked, it made me aware of what I was doing wrong and helped me change it! I started off having a rest day from my exercise routine on a Saturday, I would burn calories through gardening and walking. If I went…

I had mine set to weight lost, and then once I was nearly 1/2 way to my goal I changed it to weight to lose!

There was a good post about alcohol on here not long ago. One of the things I didn't know was that because your body views alcohol as a toxin, other processes are put on hold whilst the body works hard to eliminate that toxin from your body. Also, on a less scientific level (phew! Back in my comfort zone then!), and on a…

I think the best thing you've done is identify the pattern and broken it! Well done! I used to 'not have time' to work out / exercise. Once I realised I simply wasn't making time to exercise, it became easier to factor in!

I did the 30DS and it introduced me to circuit training. I didn't lose a lot of weight, but lost a lot of inches from around my body. I think I got used to the intensity of the workout quite quickly and could soon incorporate other cardio workouts with it. I did it 6 days a week. The best results I'm having are with more…

I'm 5'4" and would like to be a size 10. I'm teetering on the edge of that atm, so don't think it's an unrealistic or unattainable goal. Average sizes for a UK woman are about a size 16 I think. Obviously height isn't effected by eating habits (I hope!), but a country's average weight is affected by many people being…

It's usually porridge for me, made with semi-skimmed milk and topped with golden syrup. High in calories, but keeps me full til lunch. I have orange juice and normally 2 cups of coffee as well. On a weekend, I often have scrambled eggs on toast or a bacon sandwich, or bacon and scrambled eggs! I normally do the bulk of my…
