  • I think it's really good to get some balanced responses to this question. These running programs are great, and are obviously planned by people with expertise and experience. However, they are pitched at meeting the needs of as many people as possible, which means they have to take a 'one size fits all' approach to their…
  • Lol doesn't the word detox send off alarms in your head? What are you detoxing and how much of the 9lbs is water/glycogen? [/quote] Thanks for replying - I did say I was NOT intending to do the plan but as tinak33 pointed out, wanted info to say no with knowledge.
  • Ground nuts? As in ground almonds etc?
  • I'm up and out at 7:45, would like to get out earlier, but I like my bed too much!
  • Listen to your body and if you feel like doing extra, then why not? First time I did c25k, I had been doing other exercise for a few months including ChaLean extreme so I felt I was pretty fit. Like you, towards the 2nd half of the program I no longer felt challenged. Because I knew I was going on to start bridge to 10k…
  • Good luck with it, I'm nearly finishing it for the 2nd time round. After my first round, I went on to do bridge 2 10k before having a break from running. This time round, I'm not making time to do any strength training like last time and I really miss it, my body felt so much stronger when it came to the longer running…
  • Crohn's Disease and IBS are different conditions that do share some similar symptoms. Some of the foods that are recommended in Paleo eating are known triggers for people with Crohn's Disease (although everyone does have a different response to foods). Such as nuts and seeds and fresh fruit and vegetables. Source:…
  • Hi, from West Midlands, looking for some new friends in the same timezone defo!
  • Just a thought (and I've only just skimmed the other comments, so sorry if this has been mentioned). You say you've set your calorie intake at TDEE-15%? You say you're eating back your exercise calories? My understanding is that TDEE-n% takes into account your activity level so that you only eat back the exercise calories…
  • I'm doing it for the 2nd time round. The first time, I tried to stick to the 3x a week but because I think I was quite fit then (I'd just finished doing Turbo Fire), I wasn't feeling very challenged. Because I was going to be starting Bridge to 10k afterwards, the last 3 weeks I doubled up runs so I did two consecutive…
  • H, just found this group as I have just got back into running! I'm currently on wk 6 of c25k (2nd time through). I'm looking to lose a bit of weight for my wedding in August and then figure out a plan for my running more long term!

  • When you said that when you use the toilet a lot of the foods you eat are passing undigested, then your body isn't getting the full nutritional value from them...which could impact upon your lack of weight loss. I got nothing more than that, I'm afraid other than to wish you luck with your investigations!
  • I don't think there is. I guess it's either don't eat back your exercise calories, or you could add quick add calories that are equal to your exercise. The only problem is that once you log exercise it adjusts your macros too...I really don't know!
  • OP, I hope now that people have felt justified in telling you how much / little you can miss your husband, how much therapy you need for your trust / abandonment issues, how weird it is that you should miss your husband so much for such a relatively short period of time etc that people begin to answer your question! I went…
  • I do! Love cooking and have included a lot of my recipes on here. I think my diary is open so feel free to have a look. If you are interested in any of my recipes then drop me a friend request. FYI having homemade pork bolognese to night with home grown salad leaves. Yum!
  • Make sure the chest strap is cleaned properly (I wash mine in water and then put it through a gentle wash every 3-4 days in a net bag). I also find with mine I have to soak it thoroughly before I wear it. I also tighten it - it always surprises me how tight I need it. If I don't do any of these things, then my readings are…
  • Love this! (What is a 'bad' food choice, anyway?)
  • I trained for a 10k last year and what I felt made me a stronger runner was having done the Chalene Extreme programme. Essentially lifting and core work I think it gave me more stamina for the longer runs.
  • Thx for the lovely prompt reply!
  • Anyone else just flicked through this thread looking for ex-Mfp friends who unfriended you and you were looking for insight? Just me then!
  • I'll be getting mine as soon as this cold clears up...I have a compromised immune system and over the past 12 years it's really helped.
  • I got mine off amazon before they became unavailable. I think they sometimes pop up on eBay.
  • Hi, I believe the mirena IUD, because it has a coating of progesterone, also stops your periods in the same way as the depo does.
  • This is true. Just to clarify, I never try and dictate or suggest how others eat or run their lives, I believe that if it works for them, fine. My friends will sometimes ask me what I'm doing and I'm happy to tell them. This thread was purely observational!
  • Lol, I know, it just seems really odd that my choice of how to eat could cause so much friction on the forum, when I know that no one's eating habits have any effect on my weight loss other than my own! Durrrrrr
  • I selected katch McArdle. You need your body fat %, which is hard to calculate I believe, but I used fat2fit to take numerous measurements and compared that to the reading my scale gave me and picked a figure in the middle....not the most scientific approach, I know!

  • My homemade cheesecake: over 400kcals a slice! I thought I was being good in that I sliced it into 12 rather than 8 in the first place!
  • I log it as per what I actually do, so that if I burn calories that then makes me net under my BMR, I can see it on MFP.
  • I weigh each day and log on a separate sheet. I only have 7lbs to go, and am at 1/2lb loss / week, so a weekly loss of 0.2 or 0.1 of a lb is significant to me. As someone beat me to it on here, on MFP, it's weightloss if it goes down, fluctuation If it goes up!
  • With the exception of body revolution, other jillian michaels DVDs are stand alone and tend to be reasonably priced. Chalene Johnson's DVDs are through beachbody and are programmes so more expensive - I'm not sure about turbo jam as I think that might be a stand alone. I prefer Chalene Johnson's motivational attitude and I…
