A guy in my office just started the Dukan diet this week. From what he described, it sound really hard with lots of sacrafice. I started with Atkins which worked great and then I added calorie counting and exercise. Instead of Dukan, my suggestion is to use MFP to keep your carbs around 20 and your calories at the number…

Not everyone counts carbs as their diet of choice. I do and it has worked well for me. I bought the New Atkins diet book but you could find the salient parts online at atkins.com. It gives you lists of recommended foods. Check out my diary. I eat eggs and cheese in the morning, protein and salad in the afternoon and low…

Wow Doing great

I've cut my carbs way down (atkins). I eat a couple of eggs for breakfast and mostly protein and salad for lunch. No cravings any more and I'm not too hungry most of the time. My diary is open to all

Sounds like thousands of calories to me

Others on MFP have suggested popping popcorn at home and sneaking it in in your purse

I'm eating about 1600 calories a day and have been consistently loosing at 2 to 3 lbs per week. I burn 200 to 400 calories per day doing cardio. So, for my 2 cents (pence), I think you should eat at least 1,600. I've also kept my carbs low, around 20 per day (Atkins). Good luck.

Good luck Geeman. Keep us posted.

I think you're right about OCD. Daily diary updates is a great outlet. If Howard Hughes had MFP, he might have cut his fingernails.

Just a small set back. You're back on it. Good luck

I'm sure you know this but when you put your info into the BMI calculator it tells you where you fall based on generic tables. Of course there are many other factors that the tables don't account for but here's the deal. I don't know where you fall now but if you still fall in the obese catagory, set a mini goal to cross…

Sometime just the act of sharing your stress helps relieve it. The fires are getting a lot of play on national news. Stay safe

I frequently go over 100g of protein in a day and I'm still normal (although some might disagree)

Yes it's true. There are people that go around and shrink clothes. Like many people on MFP, I had 3 sets of clothes, skinny, medium and fat. I'm back into medium and on the advice of my MFP friends have thrown out the fat ones. I better start locking my door so the clothes shrinking fairy stays away.

Bump - I'd like to know too

I'm doing a combination of Atkins, watching my calories, cardio and MFP. It's been working so far. I've stayed in induction for 3 months and have lost 40 lbs. The first couple of weeks were tough with headaches and cravings but since then I've felt great. I'm rarely hungry or crave. I know there is a lot of negative talk…

My Dad did the same thing when I was 15. He's been through 3 more wives since. The odds are against him ever being satisfied. As my Dad got older, he realized he had what he really wanted and he gave it up. You can't get back lost years. I'm a little sad for you husband. He's made bad choices that sameday he will regret

Welcome to MFP and good luck on your journey

OK Guys perspective. If you want to get even and make him forever sorry he walked out on you, look great, feel great and live a happy life. You don't need him. You've got you

I watch my calories and carbs and do only cardio. I've lost 39 lbs in 3 months (its not all water)

Try an avacado. It's healthy but high in calories. Might be just the thing after workout

After reading through this thread, I'm thinking I need to get some newer t-shirts for the gym. I'd hate to think people are talking
