I haven't watched any Dexter, but I have friends that were HUGE fans of the show that have advised me to not begin watching because the last season is that bad, that it ruins all the prior good seasons. A couple not mentioned yet: Black Mirror and Sherlock. Oh one more, if you haven't seen it and you like sci fi: Fringe.

"Stuck for how long?" is my question too. From 297, weight should be melting off. Also, losing 3 lbs/week is a perfectly fine goal at that weight. I would advise splitting some of your cardio time into resistance training and make sure you get a good amount of protein, on the order of about 160-180 g per day. The weights…

For me, 1) Spurs (my love of Timmy D goes back to 1994 when he started his college career scoreless against Alaska-Anchorage) 2) Celts (hometeam) I used to far prefer college ball over pros, but lately it's started to flip-flop. There's so much young talent in the NBA now, great time to be a fan.

I don't have a lot of genetic advantages, but skin tautness is one. I've lost around 140-150 pounds over a year's time and no loose skin whatsoever. If only I were so fortunate with my hair...

Is this thread for security question phishing? I frequently see this particular question used for security questions to allow password resets. While on the subject, what are people's mother's maiden names, name of your first pet, the city where you were born and what banks do you use? Note - please don't answer, I'm not…

You can bookmark a thread now (see the icon for the star), then click your bookmarks (other star) to see what you've bookmarked. I far prefer this to the dozens of "bumps" that add no value whatsoever to a discussion.

If you're truly just looking for a ballpark estimate, just use the MFP result. That's what I do and it costs $0.

Here's my apple before/after: Being apple shaped, I'm finding, requires patience and perseverance. Let me throw in perspective so I can have a 3rd "p". Patience and perseverance to fight through the frustration of doing so much work and being so adherent to your plan, yet still seeing more protrusion from your midsection…

This dude: Not the chain, but the genius that decided that meat, cheese and maybe a veggie or two should go between 2 slices of bread. To the poster that put a picture of an American Indian to thank them for IPA, I hope that was humor, otherwise learn your IPA history (hint: has nothing to do with the Americas).

Anyone tried the new MusclePharm bars - Combat Crunch? They're fairly new to the market and have positive reviews online. But I know how those reviews can be manipulated so I'm curious if anyone here has tried them and what they thought.

November 1 is my "Black Friday", the day after Halloween when everything goes on 50% off sale. I've actually got a schedule I've refined over the years. On Nov 1, purchase favorites for half off. Not TOO many though, because in another week or two, these items will get marked down 75% off. Then I load up on the things I…

I drink a good amount of Ceylon tea, but that's not really the answer to your question.

Sorry for seemingly spamming the forum, but I finally got sizing right. Mods please delete my prior posts immediately above. The "edit" button apparently doesn't edit so much as it creates a new forum post. These 2 are from early April, 2013, when I weighed 340 pounds. These 2 are my latest progress pics, from the…

Thanks for this article. I've had some wild fluctuations recently, to the order of 10 pounds +/- the prior week, and trying to reconcile 3500 cals = 1 pound just didn't work, even when accounting for some degree of water retention. Now I get it a little better, assuming the author is right; I tend to be skeptical of blogs.

Outstanding!!!!!

Police Squad! Don't know it? That's because it only last 6 episodes. You do probably know the 3 movies it spawned - the Naked Gun series.

She switched back, actually.

Another vote for RunKeeper here. My needs are pretty basic though so I'm not willing to pay actual USD for a running app. Also I can't claim to have done a full analysis of competing programs, but I like RunKeeper nonetheless.

I'm responding directly to the OP, I haven't read any posts afterward, so apologies if I'm sidelining any current discussion. This is a topic very close to me. I consider myself a devoted turophile and eliminating cheese was never an option. So, I'm not sure what my ticker says today, but the one constant over the 16…

My favorite part of any thread is when the OP is exposed as trolling yet people still respond earnestly.

Hmm, if cheese causes a physiological need for more (and I'm going solely on what was said upthread) I wonder why I feel a compulsion to chow down on the high sugar candies (Sweet Tarts, Tootsie Rolls) and not cheese when, without question, I'd choose cheese if posed a choice between candy or cheese. With cheese, I can…

This is my kryptonite too. It's not that I sit around and think "I sure could go for some Sweetarts" and then go on a mission to buy some, but once I have some, there's a switch that goes off that says "more more more". A lot of the reverse bro scientists say "you shouldn't cut out any foods you enjoy, just enjoy them in…

High protein/no sugar? Meat.

I did my first deletion recently. He was (is) a friend hoarder (~800 last I checked) and I was getting put off by the constant spam on my timeline "x is now friends with a, b, c, d and 4 others". I couldn't care less about someone's inactivity, it's not like there's some max limit and it doesn't affect me in the least bit…

Congrats to all of you upthread that just finished your first 5k. I hope you feel as satisfied as I did when I finished a 5k for the first time (back on Sept '13).

Speaking as someone that loves both In-n-Out and Five Guys, I don't think they're really competitors. Yeah they both make burgers but In-n-Out is more fast food oriented, with prices that are competitive with McDonald's, Wendy's, et al. Five Guys is a mid-tier burger competing with Smashburger, Shake Shack, maybe Red…
