Thanks everyone. Those one pounds gone week after week really add up to big changes :) So encouraging.

This was brilliant! lol

I love this thread...so motivating...thanks everyone for sharing! I will never have my own before and after pics because I have hidden all but my face from any camera for years and years! Kudos and congrats to you all :)

Great job...and very inspiring! I am half way to goal and am about where you were to start. Your transformation is amazing and makes me very excited to reach my goal! Great job ...thanks for sharing ;)

^^ I couldn't agree more. I personally don't believe our bodies run on a midnight to midnight clock. While I wouldn't want to have a severely low day which took me below 1200 in any given week, being able to view my intake over the week rather than getting all worked up about being a few hundred calories over on a day has…

I am a daily weigher so I am very familiar with water fluctions on the scale. My experience is that water hides in places of our body that we don't necessarily see or feel. I "know" this (for me anyway) because if I go a day or two with high sodium and/or carbs, regarldess of my calories and exercise, I WILL gain 2-3…

Wow. You ladies are a true inspiration!

I love Qwest bars. Its hard to beat the protein and fiber content for a calorie total of 160-210 depending on the flavor. 1/2 of one works well as a mid morning snack and I eat the other half in the afternoon. Tides me over nicely and helps get my protein in. My favorites are chocolate peanut butter and peanut butter and…

Tag. Gotta try these

i agree for the most part. however it would be just as good if employers with primarily desk job work were required to help with nutritionists and fitness related assistance (gym memberships,etc.). There is a part of personal responsibility on the individual to offset their sedentary job duties with good nutrition and…

It has taken me 2.5 months to lose my first 15. Slower than when I dieted in the past, but I am not dieting per say now...I am changing my eating and exercise habits and including a moderate calorie deficit so while this is slower than in the past I am confident it is fat I am losing and I am so proud of myself and feel so…

At the first sign..which for me is an odd tense sensation and slight visual bluriness that precedes the migraine headache, I take 2 ibuprofen, and two excedrine migrine as well as drink at least 16 ounces of water as fast as I can. If possible I then retreat to a dark area for about fifteen minutes. This isn't foolproof…

great question actually...curious to see what others do. I measure at the largest point...but I have a feeling my mid thigh is shrinking while that spot isn't much.

The sad thing is that after 42 years of having that 1200 calorie number drilled in my head, despite being an intelligent woman, and hearing over and over again here that its really not a good level for most people, it takes a conscious effort and a leap of faith to treat my body right. We have a whole generation or more of…

eye opening study. Thanks for posting. Time for me to ease into a more reasonable net calorie rang (currently net below 1200 on a regular basis though I do eat 1300-1500)

I had another one Saturday..a weird one for me. I went to put on one of my tankini tops to go to the beach. I have had this top for years and its always been snug. Rarely have I had a bathing suit become too big during weight loss...they stretch ya know so usually they are wearable even when I lose weight. Anyway I went to…

I have had some bad experiences with other products and did tons of research before trying OEP for the first time. I am very aware of the dangers of some manufacturers but USP has a very good reputation and I have been using OEP for several years off and on and it seems you and I are both at least anecdotal evidence that…

Well to be completely detailed lol, I actually take my HRM minus 30%, map my walk applying the net calorie conversion and just for good measure, MFP after the net calorie conversion and take the lowest of all of them. Yes, I am a bit of a numbers geek (I am an IT professional what can I say lol). After a whole bunch of…

^^ this is what I take...funny that the only other response of someone who does use something is the same product I use. I have tried so many things over the years and this is the only thing that has even come close to helping with energy/appetite control without making me shaky. I only take one about once a week on really…

Congrats! Often I find the NSV's even more satisfying than a drop in the scale on any given weigh in :)

Have you considered adjusting your macro goals instead of the calories? As others have stated, its likely water weight due to the increase in calories. For me, I have learned that a higher protein and lower carb ratio helps keep the water fluctuations under control. Every one is different, but thought I would throw that…

A great big round of applause for us all :)

^^ I hit a small bump in the road when I started using my HRM calorie calculation. I started knocking off 30% and started losing steadily again.

I am losing twice as fast (though it still only 1- 1.3 pounds a week) using MFP as I was on my own. Curious if you are watching your macro goals (protein/carbs/fat) as I have found that when I go over on my carbs I tend to have a smaller loss. You can set your macro goals differently based on what works for you but I…

I have no idea why but I always weigh least at 8 a.m. regardless of when I wake up. I am guessing everyone is different.

I don't have any advice that hasn't already been given but I can offer encouragement and empathy. I recently added running to my routine for the first time in my LIFE. I am 50 pounds overweight and had an bad ankle break two years ago that has left me with one ankle that is permanently a little stiffer than the other.…

I never understood the workout on an empty stomach thing...especially first thing in the morning when you have the least amount of blood glucose available...it takes time to convert fat to energy so no wonder you were light headed! I love working out in the morning except when my knees are acting up (early arthritis) but I…
