Slow and Steady is winning the race :)
I have been using myFitnessPal for about 18 months now. After years of trying "everything" looking for that quick fix, magic bullet to magically and QUICKLY melt away the results of a lifetime of poor eating and fitness habits, I decided I had nothing to lose by sticking to the basics and taking as long as it takes. At…

When is it a plateau?
I apologize in advance for yet another plateau thread but my mind is swimming all the information I find when researching this so I am hoping to get some input from folks who have been there done that and maybe can encourage me or give advice. Background: I have lost around 33-34 pounds since January. Been losing a nice,…

Big change in face after 31 pounds lost :)
I'm only half way to goal and don't have any full body before pics but noticed tonight the big difference in my face :) Can't wait til I reach goal :) :) MFP rocks! I couldn't do all this without it :)

Reached a big milestone!
I couldn't be happier that I found this site/app. I have tried so many different diets/pills/programs and spent a boatload of money over the years with little permanent success. Thanks to MFP I have hit my half-way mark of 30 pounds today :) :) No progress pictures because I have always avoided the camera (if I had started…

Be sure to take measurements!
My weigh loss has slowed a bit the past few weeks. So today I decided to take new measurements. Sure enough I had lost another 1/2 inch from my hips, arms and legs. Very motivating and helps offset scale frustrations. So be sure to track those measurements if you aren't already! :)

Wish me luck--nervous
I know this topic has been covered to death but I am just looking for encouragement, not a debate on the merrits of the change I am about to make. Short story. I started out MFP "by the book" 1500 net, eating back my exercise calories, monitoring my macros, etc. was losing a modest .8 pounds per week. Then I had a "bad…

Its Friday...let share NSV's :)
I hope I am not the only one who feels the need to celebrate a non-scale victory today :) Mine..about four months ago I bought a new pair of work pants. Wore them once and though they "fit" by the end of the day I had to unbutton them on the drive home, so they have sat in my closet since then. Wearing them today and they…

Easy, portable healthy foods
Hi All, In the summer we spend most of our weekends (and soon ten days straight) at our camper by the beach. We are always on the go...pool, beach, etc. and while I still log and stay within my calorie range, I find it difficult to stay with in my macro goals...mostly because I am unprepared with my own stash of healthy,…

Looking for MFP friends like me
I am female, early 40's, mom, full time worker and have 40 more pounds to loose. I'm kind of shy about requesting friends lol. But if anyone would like to add me so we can support each other, I am hoping to connect with a few women of similar background/goals. 30's, 40's, 50's, busy but dedicated lol. Hope to make some…

Net calories burned
When logging my exercise, I have been adjusting the calories burned to account for the calories I would have burned just doing my normal activites. For example, if my HRM or MapMyWalk value is 300 for 30 minutes I have been taking off about 40 calories for the 30 minutes that would have been burned had I not done the…

Zero appetite after exercise
Anyone else experience this? After I exercise, my appetite is seriously non-existant for at least an hour if not more. I have been forcing myself to eat some protein and healthy carbs but is it really necessary? I'd honestly prefer to enjoy my food rather than feeling like I have to force it down but I'm a bit confused on…

"Saving" exercise calories
I know there is a ton of threads about eating back exercise calories. And I get it that we "should". However, since MFP only tracks daily net and not over a week, and most weekends are my rest days as well as days I am more likely to eat more because we are at our beach place, what I have been doing is "saving" those…

Knee pain
First I will say I realize this is not a place to get medical advice. Basically I am looking for personal experience/suggestions from anyone who has experienced this. I realize if things don't improve I will need to visit my doctor, but I am hoping this is something I can recover from without needing medical care. I…

Lesson learned about water weight
Of course I know, I have read, read, read, not to get emotional over the scale when I know I have been eating right and exercising. Yes, I am a daily weigher. I do use Libra now to record the weight and watch the trend line instead of getting TOO hung up on the fluctuations. BUT....typically the fluctions are a pound or…

New to forums
Just wanted to jump into the forums and say hello. I have been on my weight loss journey since January, but started using this site April 3. The app and site have helped tremendously...only lost 7 pounds from Jan 1 - April 3 and have lost 11 more since starting with this application :) Looking forward to interacting,…
