Hey - I'm a transplanted Canadian currently living in Everett (Ever-wet!) I love the rain...for the first few weeks, then it's time to think about making that move south...until the summer comes when there's no better place in the world to be!!

I started on MFP at the end of January - my weight loss has been slow and slower, but as of this week I've lost 41 pounds since joining; 57 since starting. I don't really have any before pictures - at that time I did all I could to stay OUT of the shot!! Believe me - there were plenty of days I thought I'd never see the…

You'd never know that was the same person in those photos!! Congrats!!

Ah yes, the joys of premenopause - don't they make you oh so happy to be a girl - lmao!! For me, that means menstrual cramps and hot flashes - often at the same time...UGH!!! And the bloating is fabulous!! Try drinking soy milk - it helps some and tastes good too. Also, I've started drinking agua de jamaica (hibiscus…

I love peanut butter!! And more than that, I love Justins organic chocolate hazelnut butter!!! Like nutella but a bit less sweet... And I can usually convince myself that I'm being healthy because it is all natural. Yum...

I'm not a fan of any type of fad diets, but that soup recipe looks yummy - maybe I'll have to make some and just eat it as soup!

my opinion - they look silly, they don't work and Reebok just settled a class action suit for wrongful advertising on the things!

I've renamed my meals 1 thru 6 (how original lol); my "day" starts whenever I wake up and ends when I go to bed. So, there are some days I'm over on my calories because I'm awake for so much of it...but I figure it all evens out in the end. And whatever I'm doing, it seems to be working for me!!

Well, I hadn't seen the article...the boards move pretty fast!! Very interesting - thanks for posting it. And to captain cranky pants who objects - I'm pretty sure chill pills are calorie free!

You need walking shoes. I'm a nurse too - I live in my danskos at work, but there, despite the fact that I'm on my feet all day, it's still short walks up and down the hall followed by a stop which allows my feet (and especially my heels) to cool down for a minute. Get yourself off to the local outdoors store and pick up a…

...and my dog ate my homework...and...!! I know - I've come up with every excuse in the book myself, and even invented a few new ones!! The only way to get back is to climb back on - good work in getting back to it!!

I haven't done a BFL challenge in almost 10 years, but as I recall, the eating portion was multiple small meals, combining a protein and a carb, low fat and lower calorie, right? So....you have the old standby, brown rice and beans (you can switch out the beans for variety). Quinoa and any vegetable you like (add up the…

1. No the site does not acknowledge that. 2. "cheat days" are controversial. Some people swear by them, some swear they do more harm than good. My personal philosophy is that I am not on a "diet", therefore I do not need to cheat. Instead, if I feel I really need to have something, I work it into my day as much as…

Eat what you like - the key is to eat in moderation and pick healthier choices whenever possible. That way you won't feel deprived and will be more likely to stick with your changes you've made. I've managed to lose 40lbs while eating pasta, drinking wine and beer and eating dark chocolate - all staples in my diet in small…

I divide my weights up - legs, back/shoulders, chest/abs. I find (especially after leg day) that the worst muscle soreness comes 2 DAYS after the workout...I can't imagine having to go do it again that day!!
-
That's exactly how I feel when I go to the free weights section of my gym to do a workout...but I do it anyhow and have realized that no one is really looking at me - I just happen to be between them and the mirror sometimes!! If you enjoy the workout, go for it , I say.

I'm pretty sure it's me

Isn't that a great feeling!! Enjoy your new wardrobe!!
