The equation I always see is (weight)*(distance)*(0.63). Which using 115 and 5 miles is 362.25 calories. So not a pound anyway. She would have to run 7 miles every single day to hit that marker. Yikes. OP is very slim. I just don't really think she has it to lose. I think she needs to eat more and lift if she wants to…

And you want to run 35 miles a week on less than 1200 calories a day?!? Sounds absolutely miserable. What are your stats? Do you even have anything to lose? Maybe start lifting to change your shape.
-
Both? I do some interval work because I think it helps my cardiovascular fitness, but I think the only real way to gain endurance is to run farther. I'm slow, my goal this year is to break a 30 minute 5K.

You can't outun a bad diet. If you aren't overweight, just set a low deficit and let it take time. Running five miles a day every day sounds like a good way to hurt yourself. Rest and recovery are really important in an exercise program. I lift 2-3 days a week, run 2-3 days a week, and rest 1-2 days a week. When I eat in a…

DOMS will feel better after a run. If it's sharp doesn't feel better when you warm up, stop. Otherwise, get out there!!
-
Your dog is absolutely adorable!!

Once I get warmed up I'm usually fine, but I don't usually hit the same muscle groups back to back. If I'm feeling so sore that I really don't think I can workout- then I do a nice quick walk for 3 or so miles. Get the blood pumping and work that lactic acid out of the muscles. And hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!

Thank you, I will go do this now!

I still can't finish a 5K in 30 minutes. I am at 33 and some change. So don't let that discourage you! I've run a few fun runs, my best is 34:17, and I was smack in the middle of the pack!

I'm a stay-at-home mom, too. I use Fitnessblender and dumbbells in my basement, and I a double a single jogging stroller- both used from our local buy/sell/trade website! I'm about to sell the double, tough. My oldest is in school, so it's easy to plan to head out with one.

Stay at home mom here. It's calories. Calories, calories, calories. It's hard to outrun a bad diet, it's impossible with kids in tow. You have to eat less than you burn. We eat out occasionally- I make better choices or cut the meal in half/thirds and safe the rest for later. I like to feel full, so I eat a lot of salads,…

I get it, OP! My husband is 8 inches taller than me, and he is a big weightlifter. When he is bulking he eats a bajillion calories a day. Even when he isn't he has to eat a fair amount to maintain his lean muscle mass. I eat at a .5 deficit and workout out 5-6 days a week, split between weights and running. I just have to…

On days it fits, I eat it. On days it doesn't, air popped popcorn and diet Coke. I only eat those on those occasions, hits salty and sweet and I feel enough indulged that it goes away.
-
Both for me! I like them both for different reasons. I think strength training is changing my body more and I like it more- But my family has serious issues with heart disease and cardio helps pad the deficit so I keep it in my rotation. I lift three days, run three days a week.
-
I wake up, make a coffee and protein shake, and get after it.

I don't belong to a gym, I lift in my basement- but I run outside and sometimes do stairs at the local college stadium. I have occasionally had rude people yell things from cars- but most of the people who were working out have been so nice. A soccer team was on the track while I was on the stairs one day, and the coach…

These. But really, there isn't much difference in these and my capris. Just my knees. Capris are easier to find, so I usually just run in those.

Both Fightmaster yoga and Yoga with Adrienne have beginner videos! I don't know if you have tries them but I like them both Adrienne is probably more beginner friendly- shows lots of variations and encourages a block.
-
Fitnessblender here, too! They are all I will use.

I believe it's pronounced "yogging" with a soft "j". Sorry, every time I hear that word I think of that movie! I'm a really slow runner, but I'm still running. I've never heard a runner call it jogging.
-
Yup. I've had wine, cookies, and pizza in the last week and actually lost a bit more than my goal.
-
It was my long run day. I burned all the calories.
-
I'm assuming it's you in your profile picture- I doubt your face ever looks "chubby".
-
Make some baked breaded parmesan garlic chicken the other day. BREAD AND CHEESE!!! AHHHHHHHHH!
-
The job didn't put the food in your mouth, you did.
-
I have dedicated running shoes, and then some cross-trainers for my FitnessBlender days. My day to day or dog-walking sneakers are whichever I have most recently retired.
-
Yes, but we run or briskly walk and it's intended to be part of my exercise routine. If we just go for a stroll with the kids on their bikes, then no.
-
I don't consider a frozen pizza or meal to be homemade. But I will use like store bought noodles or sauce in a recipe and still consider it homemade. I guess for MFP purposes it's homemade if I can't scan the barcode and call it a day. Really though, I don't care what others do or don't consider homemade.
-
This is exactly what I did. I've never been that small as an adult so I'm not sure where I will end up. I'm not married to that goal at all.
-
I don't think anyone has said that. I think the point usually made is that if you are overeating by hundreds of calories a day you won't be able to exercise yourself to a deficit.
