Thrift stores are my new best friends. I give them my oversized clothes and I find nice 'in-between' clothes for now. When I get within 10 or 15 lbs of my goal, I'll go on a shopping spree at the mall.

Agreed. Ditto.

Maybe you need to look at the other areas of your life and see it they are contributing to your trouble maintaining healthy habits. For example, if your friends all just want to play video games and hit the bars, maybe you should limit your time with them. (Just an example, but you get the idea.)

Here in east TN we have the annual Tri-Cities Bacon Festival in August. Life is good.

I plan all meals in advance. Then I know what I can look forward too.

You can also wrap it in foil and grill it. I cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, wrap it in foil and grill it. Yum!

I do not eat avocado. Or guacamole. Bleh.

I'm doing isometric exercises for my large grrls and it seems to be working fine!

This ^^^^ And the water in fruit should not be counted either. And if you take a long shower, don't count the water your body absorbed. Nor should you count the water in your lungs if you have pneumonia. **Why can't people just drink 8 glasses of water.... *shakes head* sigh

I plan my cheat meals once a week. I enjoy whatever I was craving and I don't feel guilty in the slightest!

Must try!

I log first thing in the morning because I have already decided what I am going to eat for the day. If I make any changes (sometimes life throws a curve ball) I log any corrections after supper/dinner.

I not a sweets fan but I do make sliced strawberries with Truvia since sugar gives me headaches. My family calls it a dessert.

I'm 5'4", closing in on 50, and sit at a desk programming all day (9 hours work, 2 1/2 hours driving round trip). No matter what amount I say I want to lose, MFP tells me 1200. And it works for me.

Sometimes, people just grow apart.

You must eat back your exercise calories if you are on 1200 cals a day. I am too, and trust me, if you don't , in a few weeks your mental state will be borderline psychotic and your body will stop losing weight.

Dang! Now I want a bowl of cereal!

My mom always said 'don't hit first, but it they hit you, beat the snot out of them.'

Seriously good question. I've always wondered why someone figured there was 2 1/2 servings in a tiny, 5 oz can of tuna :grumble:

Coffee, wine, liquor, chamomile tea (home grown), and water. Plus more water and then some water with a water chaser.

I'm a transplanted Chicagoan currently living in the beautiful Appalachian Mountians of Bulls Gap, Tennessee.

I'm 5'4" and started at 207. The MFP calculator also put me at 1200 which leaves me hungry IF I make bad choices. I was estimating food at first and after I got a food scale, I realized how far off I was. Weigh and measure everything. Eat back your exercise calories. Have patience.

I love my Wheaties and my husband enjoys his Lucky Charms. He just works his into his day and he doesn't have to give up food he enjoys.

Most decent restaurants have usually have some sort of grilled seafood that is a fairly decent choice healthwise. Order it with steamed veggies instead of potatoes and you have yourself a pretty good lower calorie meal.

I have lost a bit over 20 pounds and it's not terribly noticeable. But at 5'4" and starting at 207,that's not a big surprise. However, my hubby says he can tell.

I go over on sugar almost every day because of fruit. I don't count that sugar, only refined sugar.

We are very similar. I an 5' 4", started at 207, and my goal is 125. I have insomnia. My cals are also 1200 and I eat back my exercise burns. But, I have lost 23 lbs in 7 weeks. I measure everything. I estimate high for stuff I'm not sure about, like restaurant food, and estimate low for exercise burns. I drink 12 glasses…

I am a beginner too, and I love the Jillian Michael's Ultimate Body Makeover. It is very basic but still gets you moving.
