I highly recommend Hal Higdon's training plans. Do a Google search for them, and you can find specific day-by-day plans for beginners through advanced runners. I followed it to a T and had a great race.

I am a mom of 3 and run two small businesses. A few years ago one of the products I sell was featured in a magazine and my sales increased 6-fold for about a year. I was ridiculously busy and stopped working out for the first 6 months. After that I decided that my mental and physical well being was worth something, so I…

Xersion brand compression pants from JCPenney. They're always on sale, stay put through a run or workout, and even have a pocket for your phone.

Another vote for Feetures.

You should move.

I love my immersion blender.

Not sure if this has been posted, but has anyone had trouble with the app adding the same mileage multiple times? I was about 10 miles from being attacked by Wargs and then all of a sudden I was in a completely different place. Looked back and saw that many of the dates (about a week's worth including June 30 especially)…

When I hit my goal weight, I'm going to lose one additional pound, and then eat 3500 calories worth of Cap'n Crunch.

I don't mind PB2 either. It does the trick in a pinch--just don't expect it to be exactly like peanut butter.

I have a business transferring recipes to plates. It's been a great way for me to work from home and have the flexibility to be with my kids. [edited by mods]

Actually no bun is called protein style. Animal style is extra lettuce and tomato. But I agree, do try In-N-Out. It's good and everyone who vacations here always wants to go.

There are things you are glad to do, and there are things you are glad to have done.

I second the vote for Feetures. I get mine in 3-packs on Zappos.

I do 18:6. What helps me is to make the first meal (mine's around noon) soup. I make 3 cups of chicken broth with lots of cabbage/onion/kale. It fills me up for about 2 hours, and then I still have calories for a couple of decently large meals between 2-6.

Awesome. The title of this post alone made me laugh.

A friend of mine uses an Apple Watch to track his swim workouts. Not sure which model.

Sorry, actually the calorie burn was 324 so about 75 calories difference. Does that still seem like it'd be within the parameters? Same app really, right?

I agree with hanlonsk. Don't worry about speed--just get the miles in. And don't be afraid to walk when you can't run anymore. Just try to shorten the walking intervals over time.

Losing weight doesn't have to be overwhelming and time consuming, just keep it simple. First rule: no eating off your kid's plate or finishing their uneaten meal. Throw their leftovers in the trash or put the plate in the sink and run water on it. Second rule: one portion. You don't have to cook special food for yourself,…

I use MFP for forum motivation and the diary, and only have one friend--an actual friend in real life. I don't think it's rude to decline requests.

Was that the one about the tightrope walker? That was good.

Seeing the sunrise and already being done with your workout--best feeling in the world.

I don't have the kind of swelling you do but definitely by the end I could push in my ankle with my thumb and the imprint would stay. I remember after the baby, maybe one or two days after, I peed nonstop and lost a pound or two per day for several days. Stand backward on the scale if you have to, and eye on the prize!

That mean girl stuff never completely goes away but I'd say the ones offended have pretty low self-esteem. I would definitely say they are in the minority.

We are not vegetarian but love their products, especially the breakfast sausage patties and Buffalo wings. The Buffalo wings are great in salads.

I buy a nice body scrub and if I work out that day (for you it could be for eating well) then I use it. Otherwise, just boring bar soap.
