  • This was me almost exactly three years ago at 200 pounds. I lost a whole lot of weight. This was me face at my smallest. But then I had to gain back some weight this year, so this is more accurate and recent. Trying to get back to the previous picture, but it's still good to realize even though I've got some vanity pounds,…
  • And that's fine. Your friend is spouting bad advice with no evidence other than it being a popular misconception. I lift heavy or I don't lift at all when I go. You can't make progress with lifting if you let yourself go lighter than what you're capable of doing.
  • Ugh, no. Here we go with more women perpetuating nonsense. /eyeroll You will not accidentally get bulky. You cannot get accidentally bulky. Most women will never, ever even come close to even looking somewhat visibly muscular, much less bulky, and it's impossible to do by accident. Lifting heavy alone won't do it. I was…
  • If your back is sore, you're doing something wrong. It means you're lifting with your back and not your legs. I'd recommend recording you lifting a set and then uploading it to Youtube so we can help you better. Also, there's no point in doing so many reps! You're wasting energy and fatiguing your muscles when you could be…
  • If you're that active, that's not a lot of calories at all. When I lift heavily, I eat more calories for energy and to gain muscle.
  • I went down to 125 pounds and still had cellulite on the back of my legs, and I've met women who have been slender all of their lives who have it. For me, the only thing that helped any was gaining more muscle in my legs to make them look leaner.
  • It's not the best guide on it, but it explains a few myths, talks about my own experiences, and then has some good external links. http://crissgetsfit.wordpress.com/2012/01/09/ladies-lifting-weights-get-strong-not-toned/
  • Yeah, I've done that before too. I've also done the OKCupid thing and had guys message me with, "Wow, I expecting nothing but fat girls on this site, but you were quite the find!" Nope. Go screw yourself, buddy.
  • She won't gain weight. However, what she will do is damage her metabolism if she goes that low for a long period of time. She'll also lose lean muscle as well as fat, which is not good, and she'll deprive her body of the nutrients and calories it needs to run. If she keeps it long enough, her body will fail.
  • I didn't date the entire time I lost weight because I didn't think it would be fair to enter a relationship with a calorie-obsessed person who was learning to finally love herself. I think it's different for everyone, but that's how I felt, personally.
  • That actually seems scarily low! If you eat too low of calories then you'll lose weight, but you'll be losing not only some fat, but lean muscle. It's better to eat more calories, and if you're that nervous about it, eat a few hundred more and be more active.
  • I've always been cold-natured, but it got worse as I lost weight. It sucks because I live in the deep south, so the AC is turned up super-high EVERYWHERE.
  • Height: 5'3 Age/Gender: 26-year-old female Highest weight: 200 Current Weight-: 140ish? I have so much water weight, though, so it's probably more like 136. Current body fat : 25-26%, probably. I have a decent amount of muscle from lifting weights, I have a medium-sized frame for my height, and my body still looks…
  • Honestly? I was making SUCH a derp face in that specific picture, haha! I have many (including bikini) with my face, but I love that one the most because pictures have a hard time picking up my muscle tone with my fair skin. Thanks, everyone! And for the record, I have never done any cardio to achieve my weight loss. I'm…
  • It's not recent (I had two different injuries that put me out of lifting for a year, so I lost muscle and gained 10 pounds back), but this was a combination of a calorie deficit and then heavy weightlifting. You couldn't really see any visible muscle definition except in my legs, but I feel like it's just a further…
  • Nope. If I want someone to see me naked, they can see it in person. I've been on the internet way too long to know how all that goes down. No pictures, ever.
  • Age nor body type should matter. How to tell if you have a bikini body: do you have a body? Yes? Do you want to wear a bikini? Yes? You have a bikini body! It's nobody else's place to EVER dictate what someone should wear. If you don't like it, don't wear it yourself.
  • My goal is to be fit, petite, and curvy. I've got the curvy bone structure and fat deposit trend, but even at my smallest, I was a soft curvy. I want to actually look fit for the first time in my life.
  • Yeah, it's definitely a big misconception that the cup letter is indicative of its breast volume. A 28 D isn't the same as a 36D, but people seem to think a D means big. Technically speaking, a D means a four inch difference between your rib cage and your bust measurements, which isn't very big at all, but people don't…
  • My boobs stayed in proportion with my body. So yes, while they shrunk, they still looked big. In fact, for my size (and especially on my 5'3 frame), when I'm not overweight, they look bigger on my frame. With that said, I was probably about a 34GG (stuffed into a poorly fitting 38DD, never properly fitted) before my weight…
  • Wow. There's merely good, and then there's talented, and you fall into the latter category! You are incredibly amazing and I'm awestruck.
  • Hmm, if I have some free time, I might level something up!
  • I'm 5'3 and trying to get back to my former 125 weight! I'm hovering in the 140s right now.
  • ^ Awesome! I've had the same main since vanilla as well, and we seem to be a rarity for that. Mine's a protection warrior. I've been playing WoW since vanilla, and always a raider. I raided all of BC at a top 100 pace, went more casual-core Wrath, quit for most of Cata to focus on my weight loss, and returned to high end…
  • I approved it! :)
  • I'm trying to lose 5-10 pounds before this summer ends, so I'm in the same boat! Feel free to friend me, as this isn't my first rodeo and I know how my body loses weight, so there will be progress.
  • I hate this idea that lifting automatically changes your body type! My body type is naturally soft and curvy and when I lose body fat, it has a habit of disappearing from my waist first, leaving me with flabby thighs and hips and a 25-inch waist. With powerful quads, calves, and hamstrings underneath the layer of fat. I…
  • Water retention in muscles is VERY much a thing. When I'm lifting weights, I don't even weigh myself because my waist could drop an inch while my weight would stay the same. The more sore/weary I feel from a work out, the more water my muscles retain. Regular water weight/bloat is also often a culprit. Most of the time,…
  • Age: 26 Height: 5'3 CW: 145 GW: 125 LW: (recently; not counting high school days) 125 this past summer I'll be dancing, playing active video games (I play DDR/ITG seriously), and lifting heavy weights (primarily squats and deadlifts, and then the dreaded upper body days). No running, though. Could use friends/support! :)
  • I'm a little late this, but I'm sure I could lose five pounds of water weight and five pounds of fat in a few weeks, so let's have it! I'm 5'3 and 145 as of this morning (after days of high-sodium eating, so more like 139, truthfully), and I'd love to be 132-135 by the end of this month. I'm about to start lifting weights…
