  • Wow you look FANTASTIC! Great job.
  • The site does not apply calorie loss due to strength training because there are so many variables that hard to pinpoint exact burn. A persons form and technique can throw off calculation significantly. I agree a HRM would be best it is also ideal for cardio machines to give better calculation then the gym equipment.
  • I have the same problem. Am trying to eat several small meals and increasing calories in current meals. Like adding baked chicken or black beans to a salad or drinking a protein shake and a carb source after a work out. Just make sure you try to add nutrient dense food as opposed to just calorie filled foods.
  • Oh i loved this had me cracking up. This is the birth of a mass forward.
  • Yup, their words are wise. You increased your exercise but not your calorie intake. Watch your net calories as opposed to just food calories. If you eat 1200 kcal in course of day but burn off 500 via exercise that leaves your body with only 700 for daily operations and repairs. Your body will see this as a famine time and…
  • Brilliant, it is a great feeling when you know efforts are paying off. Keep up the good work and best to you.
  • It takes time, you may want to look into if your calories eaten meet your calories burned. Under eating to try and shift scale could cause your body to hold on to stores. Also the scale can be deceptive, a shift from fat to muscle will not show on. May want to try taking measurements and comparing those rather then just…
  • I am having same issue burning 600+kcal with working out and only eating 1200-1300 calories ending with a net of only like 600-700 have started eating more often used to to just the 3 meals and light snack now having several small meals to try and work in healthy food and not just calorie dense foods at end of day to push…
  • Welcome to MFP, I have been here about month and half myself and find the people on here awesome. Glad to hear your setting mini goals to keep you motivated in journey to good health.
  • wow always awesome to see people join with friends and family.
  • Welcome, sending request now.
  • Keep doing what you are doing. The shakes and things are used to limit calories while still getting vitamins and minerals. Looking at your log you are eating good combos of fruits, and veggies that will give your body what it needs. Honestly i am in awe of your menu, great job.
  • Welcome, i have been on site for little over a month and I enjoy it. Keeping track of what you eat is a little odd at first but it really help to see what you are eating and makes you really think if you want that treat or not. Good luck in your journey to improved health.

  • Welcome Angela, You mention that have been off to a "slow" start but mind you that it is a start and you have not given up. Keep on that path and will reach goals. Good luck on journey to improved health. Friend request sent.
  • Welcome Erin. Have been using site for little over a month and I love it. Good tools to help keep you on the right path and more importantly GREAT people who help keep you motivated and on right path. Just be honest with what you log for foods and exercise and it will pay off.
  • just did a search on this because confused as well. To my understanding net calories are the (calories consumed)-(calories burned due to exercise)= (net calories) and does not include your BMR. so if you eat 1200 kcal and burn 700 kcal running then the 1200-700= 500 kcal that your body can utilize for normal daily…
  • Great job. Can totally see change. Also very nice job in goals looking like first is well in sight. Well done.
  • I hear ya, usually i try and keep most of that stuff out of the house or get it only if I know people are coming over that will...um "help" and polish off the majority. what i have found helps me it is not so much a self control thing as deterrent is to brush teeth or take big gargle of mouth wash or even a strong sugar…
  • welcome to the site. Once you get the hang of it becomes easy and great way to keep track of what you eat. Just be honest with data; we all have good and bad days. Good luck to you in your goals :).
  • Emotional eater here, mostly boredom or stress triggers. Have been pretty good about keeping binging to min but do have indulgence.
  • Welcome to the site, have been here a few weeks and really like the tools, huge database, and the community has been wonderful.
  • Welcome Jacki, weight loss is difficult why many here call it a journey. I have been on site for few weeks now and the tools really help me to see how much i eat and all the calories that i used to sneak during the day. Good job on cutting back on sodas; 6-10 cans a day is an impressive number. One thing i have always…

  • It happens, you slipped up today all you can do is chalk it up as a day you went over and try and be better tomorrow. Also don't beat self up over it sometimes you do just need to indulge granted planned indulgences are better then shall we say "oops". Though crackers and salad sound kinda scant so your body may have been…
  • Hello Abby, good luck to you in your weight loss goals
  • Ignore him best you can. As one of the others who posted said it is likely a mind game for him. Knows it gets under your skin and he likes that he still does. Gives him a confidence boost or whatever.
  • it would not be advised. Eating to few calories on any given day could cause your body to think it is in state of starvation and make it want to hold on to fat and weight. My advise is that if you do go over in a day then rack it up as a day you went over; tomorrow is a new day and new chance to do it right.
  • welcome mfp. ya i have found logging foods has helped me realize how much i snack. Having place that can log and see the items be it to little or much is handy. Good luck to you in your personal goals
  • good job; it takes time to reach a goal. Hats off to you on posting pics you are a far braver man then I. Keep up the good work man.
  • Oh wow thanks for info gonna have to check them out. Just seen these profiled on TV health show.... never heard of them prior other then Chia pets.... made sense why they are called that now.
