Wonderful and encouraging post. Thank you for sharing

I just did level one of RI30 for the first time and I actually liked it quite a lot more than level one off 30DS. For some reason, 30DS hurts my one shoulder. I really liked the cardio portions better in RI30 level one comparatively as well. Except running man, which I do with the grace of a lumbering bear. For some…

today I saw a lady at the gym who was doing the jacknifes with a push-up added into each rep! She was a badassss! I told her so too.

I just added in a day of swimming because I feel like I'm not getting enough cardio during Stage 1. I usually have been walking on my off days, but I feel it's not enough to keep me from gaining fat along with strength. I'd like to have a yoga day built in there too!

thanks! That's a helpful link.

nope, just said that that particular exercise would aggravate my wayward disc.
-
pretty sure this is my exact experience

You are amazing. And you are an excellent writer.

You ladies all sound like FUN! I'm 5'3'' and at 174 this morning. Trying to head towards the 140s, but the lowest I ever got was 154 before I started the slow creep back upwards! Hoping to never return to my starting weight of 212! I'm looking for friends as well, so feel free to add me! Emily

I shall!

I've never cooked salmon before. If you cook it on the grill, do you shut the lid? Do you ever flip the salmon? Or just leave it skin side down?

I think that Type 1 really can make it much harder to lose weight. Your metabolism is not like that of people with a functioning pancreas. It's great that you're so diligent already! How are your A1Cs? If your sugars are really well controlled, but you're still not losing lbs, maybe you are eating too many calories still.…

I'm far too lazy for morning workouts but I aspire to them! I already eat a small breakfast (~300 cals) but it might help me to save them for later in the day!! Yeah, I see what you're saying about everyone will lose below their TDEE. The hard part is knowing how long to wait to decide whether or not the TDEE estimate is…

I am going to start using this phrase!! hehe. Yeah, I have been trying and playing with numbers since autumn. Hell, if it's true that I'm eating above my TDEE (and gaining weight) then I probably have already completed a reset! The idea of a day a week of fasting really intrigues me. It might be something to help me along…

Delicious partially hydrogenated vegetable oils. Suddenly, I want oreos. Or maybe an oreo blizzard would suffice.
-
laughing at the bar of oreos...!

Thanks heybales. I will drop some more and see what happens! I think my body is pretty efficient at holding onto its reserves. Even when I've been very active (hiking all day for field work, etc) my weight doesn't drop easily. So maybe I'm one of those people for which calories in is absolutely the most important thing to…

It is pretty all over the place for sure. I do weigh all the food and count out my snack nuts, measure my wine, etc etc. I've been at this forever it seems. No "unlogged snacking". But it seems like anytime we go out to eat, I end up going over my limit, so I try to compensate by having less on another day. Mathematically,…

thank you! i will do that!

I say I average 2x week because sometimes it's 3, but more often it's 2. Generally, I like to do other stuff like bowling, frisbee, running, hiking, yoga etc., so not all of my activity comes from lifting. In a given week I get 4 "real" workouts and fill the rest of my time with light walking and so forth. I haven't been…

I accidentally fasted last week. I had to do fasting blood work...at 4pm haha. Oops! So I went like 8pm til 4pm the next day. Was STARVING by 5pm. But I actually felt pretty good later and even proceeded to do a kickbutt run that evening.
-
Good idea. I think I had better figure that out.

I've tried eating up to about 2300 per day but my weight was stable. At that time I was doing a lot more cardio (e.g., spinning, running) and my burns were higher. I was gaining slowly at that consumption level as well. About 3 weeks ago, it was suggested that I cut my calories down by about 200/day to see if that would…

spreadsheet says take 24% off of that TDEE = 1924 so guess I'll drop it and see what happens. So frustrating... My body just holds on to every little scrap of calorie it can find. :embarassed:

GREAT STORY!!! You're going on my "Inspiring Women" list :drinker:

very helpful!

Is there time in the morning? yes. Am I going to go to the gym in the morning? ... probably not. Unfortunately, I'm a night owl (as evidenced by my late night posting on forums) and I feel energetic and alert in the late afternoons. Always wanted to be better at mornings. The best run I've ever had IN MY ENTIRE LIFE was at…

I just re-looked at my source for my little circuit and realized that the author was NOT suggesting a circuit at all. I just read it wrong. Oh well... at least I've only been at it a few weeks. Not doing anything heavy and I can get onto the right track now. I was starting with this…

I can do that!

huh! I just don't think it looks awful at all. You look mortal, but that's not so bad! Don't get so down on yourself!
