Thanks for the helpful hints re cardio. I have been thinking about toning it down and just lifting for a bit to see what happens. Heybales has suggested that maybe I need a rest week as well. I'll keep tweaking things. I've lost weight at a steady pace previously (but was much more overweight and it just "wanted" to come…

Thanks for the encouragement. I am sticking with it. I will take measurements again next week and see if I've made any progress. I wonder if my "spike" days are screwing everything up. Usually one day a week I go out for a big dinner with bf (think Thai food or pizza, etc) and that day I'll have 2500 calories. Then every…

Still no weight loss. Week 4 weigh is 172.6 (Started out 4 weeks ago at 172) that is a 2 lb gain from last week. Daily average food = 1777 Avg exercise = 231 Avg net = 1546 I re-adjusted some numbers to make up for reduced intensity exercise and BMR = 1454 and Goal weight total calories = 1756 I'm right on target so what…

If you want some recipes that have nutrition info already figured check out www.jointhereboot.com/recipes/juice Lots of good ones on there and it will help you see what you might like.

I did a mini juice fast recently. I felt really good, actually. I don't think I'd be able to do a whole week. Main problem for me is that I'm not a fan of the veggie tastes so I only like the ones with a lot of fruit in them. Then I just get SO much sugar. My bf, on the other hand, loves celery, carrots, etc and he could…

Those banana ideas are great!

Hello everyone. Hope you're all having a curvalicious Monday. What are you doing today to make Monday a success? I'm dragging my boyfriend to the gym for some weight-lifting! Working on toning up that "back fat" roll of mine. You know, that thing that hangs over the bra strap and ruins many a summer dress photo? That one.…

Hello! I'm Emily and I'm 28. I happen to have a pin-ups calender hanging here because I love them so much. I already have "hourglass measurements" but not the pin-up look ;) Would like to trim it in and try to make my own version of a pinup!

Ok heybales! Thanks so much for the in-depth analysis!! :) I think I will try a week "off" and of eating 1500 calories. We'll see if maybe it helps out. Back when I started my weight-loss journey in 2009 I would reliably lose 1-2 lbs/week until I got to about 160 lbs and then it really slowed. The lowest I ever got was 151…

Thanks I'll give it a go :)

I'm 5'3'' and 170lbs and body fat calculators give me anywhere from 24-40% body fat...quite a range!

OK heybales, would you mind checking this for me? Ultimately I get about 5 legitimate workouts per week and the rest is miscellaneous walking to/fro. sleep 7.5 hrs/7 days reading/tv 4hrs/day x 5 weekdays reading/tv 6hr/day x 2 weekend days workout routine: spinning 1 day/week (45min) running 2 days/week (30min/run) vinyasa…

No...my measurements did not change either. I've been lifting weights to try to build some muscle mass, but so far no numerical triumphs. I don't know how people are managing to lose 1+ lbs/week. My body doesn't even want to give up a fraction of a pound right now. I missed one workout last week and so adjusted the calorie…

Current BMR = 1452 Goal calories = 1757 Average calorie intake per day = 1742 Average Exercise burn per day = 180 Average Net Calories = 1562 Net above BMR = 110 Weight lost this week = NONE Stayed the exact same weight. Quit sad.

oH YEAH...I have no trouble eating more haha. Maybe if I try to eat a smidge less I might bump that number a bit lower next week. Here's hoping :ohwell:

Goal calories =1800 Start wt last wednesday = 171 Avg cal consumed = 1950 Avg exercise =221 Avg net this week = 1728 End wt today = 170.6 Only .4lbs but I'm happy enough! I think I need to tighten it up a little more maybe to push over the 1/2 lb/week threshold.

Rockerfeller Skank. Weapon of Choice. Love me some Fatboy Slim! Also, I love to imagine Christopher Walken and his excellent dance moves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMZwZiU0kKs works every time I run :)

Thanks for the friending! For intervals I've been enjoying spinning and hill sprints and sometimes even a little bit of homemade interval on the treadmill. I'm looking forward to getting a more "official" interval training schedule though. Any tips?

I love interval training!

Well, you're freakin gorgeous too, so that certainly helps! Love the red!

Progress end of Week 1 Current BMR = 1456 Goal Weight BMR = 1291 Daily Goal Calories = 1800 Average calorie intake per day = 1790 Average Exercise burn per day = 312 Average Net Calories = 1478 Net above BMR = 46 Hope I'm doing this right!! First week trying :) I'm taking Heybales advice and only adding a bit more per day…

Bump. Cool topic! Very informative. Thanks for taking the time to post and to explain

Thanks!

OK. Thanks... It will take some getting used to because my brain is trained to go "Oh no! You're above X number stop eating!" It's an adjustment to think that some days will be over and some will be under... I don't know why this is so difficult to wrap my mind around. Too many years of believing that I have to be below…

Took it!

Thanks, glad to have that clarified... Would it be accurate to say that one should try to consume a number of calories between their BMR and their Total Calories #? In this case, I'd aim for between 1460-1800ish each day?
-
Heybales, Thanks so much for all the help with this concept. I've been over it a few times and I'm ready to get started. Just want to make sure with you that I did it right. Do you mind?? According to your spreadsheet: Current wt: 171.4 (current BMR: 1454) Goal wt: 135 (Goal BMR: 1291) Activity calories: 551 Total…

that sounds...amazing!
