Was grossed out by greek yogurt, but recently tried the Fage 2% with honey and I think I can get used to that. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I liked it, but I didn't toss it in the garbage can like I did the previous ones I had tried.

I learned a lot on my first half a few weeks back. The GU Chomps worked great for me as I felt a burst of energy after each one I took. The problem for me was hydration. I drank plenty of water leading up to the race, but I sweated so heavily that my leg muscles nearly short-circuited. It's weird. I felt like my body was…

This thread is almost as good as Maxim and a lot cheaper too.

I did worst. I had 4 beers, chicken wings, and carrot cake. Sure was a nice stress relief from a crappy week of work and the usual close attention to diet and exercise. Back on track today though.

It isn't worthless, but it is entirely overrated. It offers quasi-scientific numbers to make claims that someone is overweight based on 2 factors: height and weight. With so many other variables especially muscle tone, that's simply not enough. I used it as a positive though. On my run Tues, I kept thinking about people…

Once your endurance builds up, it really becomes enjoyable. Your mind wanders all over the place, and often, you're no longer aware of every agonizing step like it was in the beginning. I try to stay aware of my breathing and my form, but otherwise I get lost in the music and the run. At least, that's the way it is for me.…

I'd rather run in the heat. I'm pretty much donating money to the Y until the winter hits and it gets so cold outside that I'd actually prefer the treadmill.

I have one half marathon under my belt and am running in a 15-miler in September in WV. I hope to be ready for a full within a year.

My man, jeff rodgers is truly a running guru. Don't sweat slowing down that speed will come back to you down the road.

What better way than body fat percentage to determine how fat a person is? Unlike BMI, it doesn't make the mistake of calling an athletic, muscular person obese.
-
I think BMI is a lousy way to access a healthy weight for individuals.
-
A little bit red wine is good for you which by definition makes it not empty calories.
-
Measuring obesity simply by factors of height and weight is completely unreliable. And it isn't like we don't have any other choices than using an outdated, unreliable and horribly generic measure to determine whether or not we are overweight. BMI has fallen out of favor not simply because it fails to account for the…

Not very important and not very accurate.

Is no one else bothered by the girl with the volcano profile pic? I mean...come on...there are obvious sexual undertones

When my young son made a man boobs comment. . .

This. Baby spinach isn't at all bitter. It is useful in all kinds of ways, but since I eat at least one sandwich a day, the easiest way to use it is as a substitute for lettuce.

It took me days to recover from that book.

I hurt pretty bad for a couple days after mine. You should be raring to go in a few short days. Congrats on finishing the half!!
-
I haven't tried it, but I will. I've lost several battles against bad food in the last couple days and need all the help that I can get. Thanks for the tip.

Lower abs are really tough. Try to keep up the cardio, if that is where you're primarily retaining fat, then it is also the most likely spot for it to come off. Reverse crunches and hanging leg raises work well .

Both of my children have been diagnosed with mild autism. They're ages 10 and 7 and both are doing quite well.

Dude, there are all kinds of awesome possibilities that you're not considering here.

Two sides of me are pulling in completely opposite directions on this one. My responsible side says that at the very least you should be completely honest and let them both know the truth. After all, you don't want anyone's feelings to get hurt. Then, there is that other side of me who remembers how fun those days were.…

You're not the only one who bombed this weekend. I'm on top of my exercise, but the eating. . .not so much. It's time for you, me and anyone else who has gotten sidetracked to start heading in the right direction again. Best of luck.

Hi neighbor, I live in Smyrna. Feel free to add me as a friend and best of luck to your quest for good health.

Congrats, man. You're a beast. One of the best after pics that I've seen on here.

I love these. They're a great substitute. Also, both Kroger and Publix have their own cheaper brands which are essentially the same in flavor and nutrition as Fiber One.

Whenever I step outside of my plan, I respond with an uptick in exercise. I midday trip to Mickey D's means an extra mile or two when I run. That way, I go to bed that night guilt-free.

I'd eat it, especially being that you are under you calorie limit. I try to make sure next time though that whomever does the shopping gets the leaner kind.
