  • I had a personal trainer a few years ago who introduced me to walking on an incline. She said it was the best for fat burning. I set my treadmill to the highest incline possible (15%) and walk at a pace of 3.5 It really gets your heartrate up there and easier on the knees.
  • All of these (I live in Calgary which isn't near any lakes but we have a cabin on a lake in BC that we go to on weekends) And add - beer on the patio, kids playing outside and not messing up the house and camping!
  • Its hard to tell you a number without knowing your stats but if you go to the Goals section and change your goals to a more equal % for fat / protein / carbs it will put the number in for you based on how much you should eat. I have mine set to 45% carbs / 20% fat / 35% protein. Everybody has different beliefs though on…
  • I did it years ago and lost a lot of weight but when I went back to eating carbs it all came back within a few months. I don't think it is healthy. I have a friend who does it every year for a few months, loses loads then goes back to usual and it comes back then she does it again the next year. She loses weight going to…
  • Are you doing any strength training? I'd add some weights to your exercise regime. More muscle means your body burns more calories. Also - maybe try zig zagging for a few weeks.
  • I'm sorry to hear that! It sounds like a huge struggle. i am also from Canada so know how brutal a Canadian winter would be if you can't do anything. I also hear the call of red wine frequently :-) (and dark chocolate!). I have to admit I indulge frequently but have tried to balance it with other heathier choices. Saying…
  • lol, I was wondering the same thing! I came on here to do a search to see if anything was written about it. I just e-mailed the company to ask more about the differences between it and HRM and what the tested accuracy of it is. I am interested in it as I really want a HRM but I like that this also monitors you throughout…
  • I actually love the fact that my son is so honest. If I put something on and ask my husband, he'll always tell me I look good (unless it is REALLY bad). My son - if he doesn't like it he tells me right off! On the rare ooccasion my husband and I get a date I always have Dylan in the closet with me checking out my outfits.…
  • Do you do weights at all? You need to do something different for a few weeks to bump your body out of it's comfy spot. I'd suggest adding heavy weights 2 or 3 times a week for a few weeks and see if that helps. (try to make them heavy weights though, the lighter ones might be too close to the other stuff you have been…
  • I'm the same. I have adjusted mine to 35%.
  • Add me too! :-) We can all use all the support we can get!
  • I do this every week. I even have 2 lunch bags so I can have the first 2 days packaged and ready to go. I eat 5 smaller meals a day so I really need to do this as there is a LOT of different containers. Plus I try to not eat any processed foods so making it myself on Sunday is great. I usually make a huge omelette and then…
  • Marvao and Evora in Portugal are stunning. More inland though. Also the Italian Riviera (Cinqua Terre) is fantastic. By far my favourite place in Europe / Asia is Turkey though. Get outta Istanbul as fast as you can - the rest of the country is unforgettable. If you want to PM me I could probably come up with hundreds more…
  • If you have a hard time - look for the book called the easy way to quit smoking. Both my husband and sister in law quit cold turkey while reading it. http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Way-Stop-Smoking-Non-smokers/dp/1402771630/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308002245&sr=8-1
  • It also depends on treatments she is receiving. If she is in chemo or radiation then they do not recommend fruit. I have two family members fighting cancer at the moment and we were surprised to see it right in the literature at the hospital. Something to do with the antioxidants actually fighting the treatments. Other…
  • I haven't had this done but I wanted to tell you how amazing you look! Good for you!
  • Yikes - I totally forgot about that link if facebook. I did check out the daily apple and Robb Wolf's website. Checking out the facebook link now!
  • I agree. He probably thought about it for ages, trying to think of a nice way to suggest it and it didn't come out quite right. I bet he thinks it is something you would want but would never do for money reasons (or other reasons like that) and just wanted to say something to you about it so you would know that he would…
  • Of course! I agree! But at the moment I am already exercising (bootcamp 1 x per week and cardio / weights 2 or 3 times a week). I'm wondering if I should continue what I am doing until I can completely do the Insanity program or is it worth switching and just doing it halfway until our company is gone and I can dedicate…

  • You need to change something. Our bodies adjust to our routines quickly and stall out on the weight loss. I'd suggest you do one (or more of the following) 1. Increase cardio / decrease weights 2. Increase weights / decrease cardio 3. Increase calories for a few days 4. Try a dufferent cardio and / or weight routine. Good…
  • Holy smokes! good for you! What an inspiration.
  • If you have time the evening before these are great sandwich alternatives...... Option 1 Salad roll julienne carrots and cucumbers boil whole wheat vermicelli noodles for 1 minute, drain and set aside. Cook and dice up a chicken breast (or use leftovers) dampen a rice wrapper and lay it on a plate. Place veggies, small…
  • Awesome! Thank you for posting this. I was just thinking about this the other day when I had my 'fast music' playlist on. I'd get going really well and then boom the beat would change and I would falter. I ended up picking one song and putting it on repeat. needless to say I am already sick of that song!
  • Can I ask what you eat? I am always way under in my protein and have a hard time figuring out how to up the protein without also upping the fat.
  • Produce bags (I think they are called green bags) are a lifesaver. You put your fruit and veggies in them and they stay fresher for up to 3 x longer. And they are reusable! I bought 2 packs of them over a year ago at the dollar store for $4 and I am still using them.
  • I just googled the Daniel plan and you're right - it does look like a good one. My only hesitation with it is the religious aspect. I would feel like a bit of a hypocrite doing it. But it certainly looks like a well thought out, well rounded plan!
