Revising! I bought a new BIA scale that member @Walela617 uses and it measures body composition--not just weight but fat, water, muscle mass bmi, etc. After verifying the scale was accurate, I am sadly having to revise my start weight and goals. My scale was 2 + pounds off. I am also switching to Saturday reporting from…

This is harder than I imagined it would be. But I got a new scale a week ago that measures body composition, and the reality of it seems to be helping me decide to have a little more discipline. This week: A: 3 AF: 4 An improvement from my usual habit of every evening.

Revising! Welp, I bought a new BIA scale … the same one that member Walela617 uses, and it measures body composition--not just weight but fat, water, muscle mass bmi, etc. After verifying the scale was accurate, I am sadly having to revise my start weight and goals for this challenge. My scale was 2 + pounds off! Some of…

Hi there! I'm here because I need to stay on track. I am stopping the 5 pm cocktail, and then a wine while fixing dinner, and then a wine during dinner . . . and then "might as well put a few more ounces in to relax after dinner." Oh my! Summer is the worst time for me because it's fun to sit on the deck with the cocktail…

Hi there! I’m looking forward to following you all and posting to this group. I’ve just resumed posting my meals to MFP about a month ago. About 18 months ago, I lost the weight and thought I was at a perfect weight, but I slowly put it back on. Unfortunately, a year ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and I’ve been so…

That's a cool-looking scale! I put it in my cart to order. I think it will be useful to have that information, but I'm also scared to see what it will tell me!

Hello. I’d love to join this group. I am needing to get in shape and lose about 10 pounds by March 13 so I can have more stamina and health when I take a bucket list trip to London-Paris next Spring. I’m having a big milestone birthday in January. Feeling motivated. Current weight 146. 5’4”

Hi everyone! I'm jumping back into this inspirational group this cycle. I started keeping track of calories, etc. more consistently for the last few weeks. This group worked so well for me last year, but now the weight is going back up and it's a struggle. I've gained back 10 pounds. That's a red line. I'm in my early 70s…

Hi everyone! I'm jumping back into this inspirational group this cycle. This group worked so well for me last year, but now the weight is going back up and it's a struggle. I've gained back 10 pounds. That's a red line. Glad to see so many are still here and new folks too. I'd like to average a loss of 1 pound a week. (Why…

August, Sept, October 2022 I’ve missed the group. You are all such an inspiration! I had to take a break for part of the summer. I took a nice relaxing trip to Hawaii from the first part of Sept to Sept 17. Two days back home & I tested positive for Covid. It was not pleasant and I took Paxlovid anti-viral. I’ve got a mild…

Thank you for continuing the group! I've been on the sidelines for the last month + and gained back a few pounds I had lost at the last challenge. This is what happens when I take my attention of the ball every time! A lot of burnout I think. I'm still getting plenty of exercise but not drinking enough h2o for this kind of…

It’s mid-week. I decided to add a CGM to my tool box because I think it will help me focus on carb control again. It’s so frustrating to see my number on the scale going the wrong direction. I’m figuring out that summer is the worst time for me. Too many family events involving food; people visiting; vacations.

May 1 to July 31, 2022 Back for my 4th round of this challenge! Thank you RubyRed. Goals: meet "best for me" weight: Maybe low 120s - not sure. Add meditation and breathing sessions to manage stress. Keep adding back muscle with weight training. Get my blood glucose and cholesterol to acceptable levels. (recently diagnosed…

That's so helpful! You're right. It's complicated! Still working on this on my end. I've seen a small drop, but not as much as I thought so I have another CGM coming and hope to tweak this more. Interested to know if my moderate to high aerobic exercise is helping or causing a stress reaction as well. If you have any…

Yes, you can get 23&Me's health report. It's a little extra charge but they give you some analysis. If you feel like spending some extra time beyond that, you can download your "raw data" from 23&Me to your computer and start exploring. Well, it's a little bit of a rabbit hole to do that! but the information is out there.…

As someone who has been struggling with controlling blood sugar (pre diabetes) in order to avoid diabetes, I think educating yourself and being proactive by doing these things will help a lot. 1. Go to a diabetes class. You can do that on line or in person. 2. Go purchase a blood glucose monitor. Walmart has a good…
