Hot tea can help.

I'm also the only low carber in a house with four people in it. I make a meat, a low carb veggie or two, and a starch. They eat the starch and I don't. I worried about getting bored, but I pretty much ate the same things most days when I wasn't strictly low carb. And to be honest, I've tried things I wouldn't have before,…

Definitely!

I had salad twice this week when the family had pizza (its been a nutty week) and didn't even care. I could have had the pizza. I actually tried to talk myself into it because it would have been easier but I honestly didn't want the pizza.

Not entirely. I'm LCHF but I do get some sugar from low carb veggies, berries, and Greek yogurt. I cut out a lot of sugar, but it would be very difficult to cut it out completely. I'm guessing you mean sugary "junk" food, though, not fruits and veggies. I think that's what is usually meant when someone says they are…

I agree with seeing a dietitian. I can tell you ways to help cut out sugar and carbs, but I'm not sure if that would aggravate your other issues. Best of luck to you!

This mainly happens to now with desserts. Now that I rarely eat them, when I do they taste awful.
-
Never mind.

LCHF here. I don't go by a specific plan, though Atkins is probably closest. Feel free to add me! Also come and join us on the low carp group. I'd post the link but I don't know how on my phone. Now I see Misti posted the link.

If you like fruit and you're not too concerned about your blood sugar levels, I say go for it. At least you're getting plenty of vitamins and fiber.

I generally buy generic coffee. This last time I splurged and bought Maxwell house. I did try bullet proof vanilla chai tea and it was good but caffeine and I don't always get along.

No, I don't, because healthy is not necessarily the same as weight loss. There are certain foods that do nothing to help me feel better and certain foods that make me feel flat out terrible. I won't say you SHOULD cut out anything. If the "white" foods you're talking about give you energy and keep you full, then you should…

Thank you! I will definitely try that way of cooking them next time.

I make sure to eat enough fat and low carb veggies. In the end, you have to find what works best for you as each person is different. I have a friend who can eat a bowl of oatmeal and be full until lunch. If I eat a bowl of oatmeal I'm starving inside of an hour. I would suggest keeping track of how you feel after meals…

No difference, they work the same. Your personal health will determine how bad it is for you. An apple or a Heath Bar can make my blood sugar skyrocket. If you don't have issues with blood sugar or insulin then sugar just becomes an easy thing to cut out to lower calories.

Baby carrots and Greek yogurt are my current go to. Cheese is a good option also. During certain TOM I make fat bombs to keep around. Visit the low carb group for fat bomb recipes. I also like almonds but I can't leave them alone. If they are in my desk at work they must be eaten.

Just give me the butter thanks. Fat is not "bad" after all, but corn is toxic for me :.

What would we argue about?

I'm interested in reading about it. I'm a little nervous about trying it, though. I could handle being hungry but I've had my blood sugar go too low one too many times to feel comfortable with it. I'm not wanting to eat so much between meals so perhaps I can try fasting in the future.

I've been using Lou Ann's because of the cost. This brand has no coconut taste unlike the brands that say organic. At least where I shop. For the rest, you have to find what works for you. My calorie counting is sporadic because I eat the same foods almost everyday. The amounts may vary but not by much. Right now I'm…

I forgot the ACV today but when I do buy it I'll spend about $4 on a big jug of it at Walmart. We use it for cats and chickens, not to mention cleaning.
-
I agree with this. We all have those moments but it gets easier. Maybe TMI but it's PMS time and I'm craving carrots dipped in Greek yogurt mixed with Hidden Valley dry mix. Two months ago I would have been nose first in the ice cream, or wishing I was.

Welcome and congrats on the loss!
-
Welcome Kristen! I don't have much to add, just take your time and remember that sometimes it's all just one big experiment. At least that's how it feels. You're welcome to add me but my food diary can be sporadic.

Coconut oil can keep you awake? Dang. I haven't been sleeping well either. I thought it was other things, and I know those things play a part. I will start paying attention to it after noon.

If you haven't already you may want to check your sugar levels after eating bananas and apples. I love them, too, but they make my blood sugar skyrocket. Have you ever been to bloodsugar101.com? They have good suggestions on finding the foods that benefit you the most, as each person is different. Basically you remove high…

I'll have to give it a shot!

I've heard about ACV helping with blood sugar but have never been brave enough to try, lol. I suppose I could mix in with water and drink it that way. Or I could start mixing it with my salad oil.
