I'm so glad that you got past the difficult time and see brighter days ahead.

Congratulations on the new you!

Congratulations, you have taken the hardest step. You're here and you have reached out for help. The good news is that there are plenty of wonderful people here to lend a hand. Take it one day at a time. Try not to be hard on yourself. This journey can actually be enjoyable once you get on track. You got this!

I feel ya. I know it is hard. Keep going. You can do this! My suggestion is to eat. Really. When you want to eat, eat. But of course don't eat all the bad things. Eat something high in fiber so it fills your belly, even if it makes you go over a bit. It's more important to address this hunger so you can be successful in…

This! Since getting my wfh gig, my diet is much improved.

I just want to recognize the courage of all the cancer survivors in this thread. Thanks for sharing your story so others can benefit.

It sounds like you have already hit on at least part of the reason for your motivation loss. You are tired. Is there any way you can scale back some of your activities so you can get back to center?

There ya go. Eat.

This sounds unscientific and not thought through by your doctor. I wonder how he/she came to the conclusion that you aren't getting enough protein.
-
Try changing up the normal routine with something that you find fun. Maybe go dancing or something along those lines.

You got this! The new you is just around the corner!

Thank you for sharing that inspirational story. I'm glad you made it through the tough times and can help others with your success!

This is of course completely your decision, but if your doctor feels that medication is warranted, I think you should reconsider. Antidepressants do not cause dependency like an opioid or something like that. Think of it this way--if you were diabetic, would you take insulin? I bet you would. For many people, depression is…

I'm a middle-aged, pasty white boy who enjoys long walks to the fridge, bad puns and defending the thermostat. My type is O-positive.

Know that you are not alone. People with depression tend to isolate and get withdrawn, but taking steps (like you reaching out) to improve your condition is essential, no matter how small. Focus on what is in front of you. What can you do today to help with your recovery? For me, that's getting out of the house and just…

Welcome back. The future is yours for the taking!

Meditation, lavender scents, filtering blue light from electronics (or better yet putting them away), reading, adjusting the temperature to 65-68 and taking a bath are all proven to help. Melatonin may also hwlp. I take the fast dissolve kind and get sleepy in about 15 minutes.

The people I admire the most are the ones who are really out of shape and who show up. You just know it's harder for them but they are still there putting in the time.
-
I just want to say well done. You have come a long way and you deserve to feel good about the progress you have made.

I suppose I have milestones, such as getting to a certain bodyfat percentage, but this is simply a way of life for me now. I tweak as I go based on what I learn. I don't feel deprived at all.

30 is young. And lots of guys find a perfectly round head attractive!
-
Take small steps. Maybe swap out carbonated drinks for water--something along those lines. When you start to see results, the motivation will increase.
-
The first step is always the hardest. Do that first workout and things will likely fall in place after that.

I have found that the healthier I eat the less I desire junk food. When I do try something unhealthy, it usually doesn't taste as good as I thought it would.

You have a choice of GPs. If she will not support a complete wellness approach then find someone who will. It's your body and you deserve health and happiness.
-
Just say I can lose weight but what are you planning to do about that face?
-
I just want to say that I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your best friend.
-
Most definitely there is a difference. Keep going!

Damn skippy!
