  • STRETCH OFF BEFORE AND WARM DOWN AFTER!!! People often forget that wii is still exercise! Remember to stretch properly before you play!
  • Thats awesome! I've found a website www.beginnertriathlete.com that has a great forum! Not joined it, but am reading into techniques for the training! Brick training is a killer at first! Good luck Stahl, and well done on the weight loss! Thats fantastic! Keep it up!
  • Good luck to you all! 5k is deceptively long distance! but its easy to attain. Worked my way there in 4 weeks! Sign uo for a free parkrun in your local area. They're run by nike, and totally free events. So gets you in the mood nicely and gives you something to aim for! Remember, walk first. Then try 1 min jog 1 min walk…
  • I can echo pawprint! This is all about a lifestyle change, NOT a diet! If you diet, you will ALWAYS put the weight back on, because you finish the diet and go back to your old ways! This is all about learning about food and realising you can still have takeout! Just less regularly, and knowing you've earned it at the gym!…
  • I just hit the half way mark! And feel great! Honestly, you will find this is the best community! Never cheat on your food diary, even if you go over! The first few days you will wonder where all the sodium comes from! Remember, you can bank the calories burned through exercise for the first few weeks, but then you need to…
  • When the T-shirt you got from DJ Jaguar Skills finally fits!!!
  • Yup. its about on par with the uk suggested max of 6.4g of salt. which is literally 2500mg of sodium. Seems to be worldwide accepted limit!
  • you can last for about 4-6 weeks eating 1200 calories and banking the calories burned at the gym. But then you have to eat to lose weight! Your body has to feel its not being starved! so 2000 calories eaten and 800 burned at the gym makes the body feel it is working correctly, and doesnt notice you're stealing the…
  • simple. train for a longer distance and sprint some short distances! So run 7km at a nice pace one day. then rest, then run 3km fast, then rest. then 6km at a nice oace again, maybe rest and 2km sprint. Just mix it up. and you will find some speed. But 2mins is a big ask! tho if you're taking 40 mins to do it, it'll be…
  • Work... sadly. building new VOIP for work, and not going well! Not even hitting 1200 calories this week,a nd need to hit 1600!!! And havent had time for the gym! a real test of the spirit now to get to the gym tomorrow!
  • I like the weight watchers yogurhts. I also have a bowl of cereal as a snack at night. helps get my fibre up too.
  • What i did was have 3 cadbury's miniature heroes.. once i saw that was 153 calories, and it would take 15 mins on the rowing machine to burn off, i stopped eating chocolate!! Now i haven't eaten any sweets or chocolate for 2 weeks!
  • WOW!!! Just checked your profile for before and after pics! You look stunning!!! Well done!!!
  • Nope, none at all! to lose weight you have to EAT!!! convince your body that it is always getting food, so it no longer stores fat! Eat a good 300-400 cal breakfast to start the day off and your metabolism will go into motion. dont eat anything, and it simply lays dormant!! Try to eat all the calories you've been told to,…

  • it certainly can! i have a few friends signed up, and it helps that my girlfirend is signed up for the journey too! If nothing else it helps to moticate each other and tell each other off for eating badly!
  • hahahaha! Love it! It explains everything! definately worthy as a fringe episode!
  • honestly, calibrate it first. if the scales are dragged out to use, then they will need to recalibrate! It will take 20 seconds tops. and then you will see if its busted!
  • Yup! i live in manchester city centre! Welcome to the site! good luck with your new food routine! There's loads of help on the forum if you need it! And above all, enjoy yourself!
  • We bought a glass weight watchers one. you have to calibrate it every time you move it. So i would recommend you step on it, then off and let it record a weight of 0.0. thyen try again. If it still doesnt track right, take it back!
  • I can echo chulie's comments! I ran a 10k back in 2007, having never done anything like it before. I lost 2 stone doing it, and felt great about myself! If running interests you, then sign up to an event 6 months away. I've signed up for the manchester 10k run. that will give me a target. Then look for smaller goals on teh…
  • accountant_boi, thats brilliant! More power to you son for getting off your bum and doing something about it! I think my diet was the same as yours! the binge on crap diet. But i'm discovering that healthy food can be tasty! Tho sadly not found the creamy death by chocolate thats 200 calories... And a shout out to Roni…
  • Haha! i think another wave of congrats will be coming through today! Absolute inspiration to us all! I guess it shows the 2 pinnacles in weight loss. the picture that makes you think "am i really that big?" and the one where you fall in love with yourself again. Lets hope we can all follow your example!
  • Have you ever thought of letting go of the caps button? i had to check your profile to make sure you were over 18! :) You will always lose weight starving yourself. there's no dispute on that. Its basic maths. you're eating 1000 and your body is automatically burning 1400+. But when your body doesnt have enough energy, it…
  • I maybe be the only mancunian here! Manchester, England! Fantastic city! its just a shame about the people who live in it!
  • Officially eating less than 800 per day is classed as anorexia. So be careful boys and guys. Sometimes we're so busy trying to get the low cal low fat option, we fail to eat enough! And your body will go into starvation mode. and the last thing you want your body to do is store all the fat it can and eat all the muscle!…
  • thats perfect lina!! thats exactly how your body wants it! I'm really bad. need to improve. have 150cal for breakfast, 300 for lunch, 600 for dinner, and then struggle to make up the other 700 odd!! I need to get a better breakfast, bulk up lunch, and find healhty snacks!! Well done on the weight loss too!!
  • I miss breakfast! sometimes hitting 1pm and forgetting to eat! So i try to have a special k bar and a weight watchers yoghurt sometime mid morning. Not ideal by any stretch of the imagination! But i'm never up for a full bowl of ceral at 7am!!
  • Dont worry if you mess up 1 day. its going to happen, to everyone! I did it with sodium cooking with a bit of soya sauce. blew my sodium limit in 2 tsbp!! I'm doing an extreme 6 weeks first to kick start the diet. try to hit all my food targets, and bank anything i burn. the downside of that is i only had net 600 calories…
  • I just like the weight watchers yoghurts here! The toffee and vanilla ones are nice. But i love the desert ones! and they're 60 something calories each. So my trouble now is REACHING the number of calories in a day!! (check my diary if you dont believe me! )

  • Good luck fellow Brit! 35 might be a bit too ambitious by summer? but a good 20-25 should be doable if you're strict with the food! Fingers crossed for you!
