Woo hoo! Yeah! You AREN'T a quitter. You DID it, and you can continue to do it! I don't know you, but I'm very proud of you.

I had to bump it to add: I've lost over 30 pounds as of today! 30.6 as a matter of fact. I don't need to lose anymore, and now I'll start my maintenance. Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive!

I've inspired my husband. He's now running 5Ks with me every Sunday. We have a fun group that gets together to do them and the number of people has increased each week! AND he's ow running every morning before he leaves for work. I'm very proud of him. I never cajoled. He just saw that it was working for me.

I think I love you. In a purely platonic, non-sexual way. Fantastic message.

There is a significant change! I know it's hard to see when you look at yourself every day, but you have done a great job. Keep it up! - from someone who hit 30 pounds lost as of today!
-
Oh pfft, go for it! A 10K is only a little over 6 miles and if you're already doing 5, then it shouldn't be a problem. I realize everyone else has already pretty much said the same thing, but hey, another encouraging voice always helps, right?

You're going to hate what I have to say. Walking! I'll be 50 in 2 months. I was in your shoes. I WAS sick. No, I'm still sick. It isn't fatal, but there is no cure. BUT I wasn't going to let that stop me. So I started walking. A little at a time. First it was on my treadmill in front of the tv. (It was a great way…

I have a Soleus Go! that tracks steps, calories burnt (during any type of workout), sleep, weather. I LOVE it. I've tried several over the past few years, and this is my absolute favorite. It works for me and my needs. I use Runkeeper for miles logged, but always default to my tracker for calories.

I have a bowflex digital which not only weighs you, but measures body fat%, water%, and muscle%. I have a doctor's appointment every month, and get weighed there, as well, and the scale always agrees with my home scale.

I was just talking to my husband about this. I've been a treadmill runner for years. But lately, I've been venturing outside for runs. (I did 8 miles today - something I've never done before!) But I'm slow. Crazzzzzy slow. Sometimes my run is slower than a fast walk. But I keep going. I know how I look. I'm sweaty,…

Yeah ^ that. I'm finding that a small breakfast, small lunch, teeny mid-afternoon snack, and most of my allotted calories at suppertime works for me. I eat back SOME of my exercise calories, but often not, because I'm just not hungry. I'm now eating to fuel myself and not just eating for the sake of eating. Eat to live;…

a-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was hysterical! Love it!

Yeah ^ that! If I'm thirsty, I drink. If I'm not, I'm not going to force myself.

Thank you very much!

Bump. Please!

I'm not a make up person; I wear enough of it on stage. I do wash it, though, in the morning and before bed. And before I go to bed at night, I don't use a moisturizer. Instead, I use Desitin. Yes, that's correct, desitin, the diaper rash cream.

I make quinoa & add black beans, corn, avocado & salsa. Wrap it up in a whole wheat tortilla. Voila! Add a little plain or vanilla Greek yogurt as a sour cream substitute. My problem is that I'll still have a margarita (or 2) with it...

Um, yeah, ^ that! LOL

Mine started in my arm but it's now confined to my hand. I need to wear a compression glove (especially on those damp chilly days), but my swelling is practically gone, and I've been pain-free for the past few months. Because it was in my hand, I've been able to run & walk. Let your niece know that though remission is…

Bumping to add: I'll toss in an Atkins shake with a bunch of ice. If I use enough ice, it almost ends up like ice-cream. Nummy. And under 200 calories! It's an easy mid-afternoon snack.

I also use it for everything: in my hair as a hot oil treatment, on my skin as a moisturizer and natural sunblock, for cooking, it's helped with my pain management both internally and externally... I could go on and on about how great it is.

You look GREAT! Amazing job. Congratulations to you!

Hey, 14 is nothing to sneer at! Good for you! And it's always wonderful to fit into those old clothes, isn't it? It's like having new clothes all over again.

I was diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) in February 2012 (up to that point, no one knew what the hell was wrong with me. They just knew that something was terribly wrong.) Then, with my physiatrists' and occupation & physical therapists okay, I was allowed to exercise. They all agreed that it couldn't…

I'm 5'1" (close enough, I guess.) I was 140 at my heaviest and now I'm at 112 and the healthiest and most fit I've been since I was a kid. My calories are roughly 1200 (sometimes over, sometimes under) and I run every day for at least an hour (outside or on my treadmill). And I'll be 50 in October.
-
Oh, and my husband came running with me! That is a HUGE NSV for me. He's seen what all of my exercise has done for me, and he's jumping on the bandwagon, too.

That's not a big deal. That's a GINORMOUS deal! What a fantastic milestone!
