  • I want to change my second number on the scale. It's getting harder to do. That is 6 more pounds. I want to survive my husbands knee surgery and losing my exercise partner. Eat healthier. Make good choices.
  • Today I did a lower body workout. 50 minutes. Too many squats! Burned 624 calories though! Yeah!
  • @FromHereOnOut I don't speak Greek except for pi, but I do speak math (hs math teacher) :) Today I did a Total Body workout. It went ok. Not as much calorie burn as I would have liked (or needed) Taking a brown and black belt TKD class tonight so I will get more workout then. Working hard tonight as I am helping my husband…
  • Got up this morning and did a medicine ball workout. I love that too! It makes me feel like I am really working on my abs. 2 meals and 4 hours in the car :ohwell: But good time with friends and family. Just wish I could get a good workout in the car - good use of time. Wish everyone a safe day spending time with…
  • Here it is after 9pm. I got some stuff ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I'm going to go and do a short workout and then make broccoli casserole. (too many calories, but I made a lower calorie cheesy potato - with pureed cauliflower) Just finished exercising it's 10. Did another round of kettle bell - love it! My abs and…
  • Today shoulder is a bit sore. I did a workout called Lethal Legs - pretty good, but not as good as yesterdays calorie burn, but then I did a Tae Kwon Do class. so so amount of cardio had to help teach. Room was cold so we ran laps around the room and did some jumping jacks too.
  • Monday - I did Tactical Cardio - really good. Strained my shoulder a bit doing floor work. Burnt a good number of calories though. : )
  • I too am taking a little bit of a break on exercise. Trying to convince husband to just work out this evening, but he is interested in taking a walk. It will below 23 degrees. BRRRRRRRR! But will most likely cave in and go with him. Hopefully we will warm up during our 2 mile walk. Have a great evening.
  • Today - did some yoga. Had terrible leg (thigh) cramps last night. I could see the muscle contract. Did some sobbing and lots of breathing before I could massage it out. Thought I should cut back and just stretch today. I love mobility yoga. I feel a little better. I will drink more water today to see if it will help.
  • My NSV - we measured ourselves today and I have lost a total of 39 inches. I only counted one arm and one thigh measurements. I'm excited because now I am in size 12 clothes instead of the 18/20 that I was in. I just ordered a school (teacher) shirt in ladies fit size large. Hope it fits (and is appropriate to wear to…
  • Today was a two hour delay for school (I'm a teacher). So I used my time wisely and I got up and did Lean Abs 35 minutes. Tonight was Brown and Black Belt Tae Kwon Do class for an hour. Pretty good. Got a good sweat going lots of kicking tonight. Good workout. Little bit of sparring.
  • Today I did a Kettle bell swing circuit. I really love that. I can't believe how much my heart rate gets going - pretty pleased. Burned about 471 calories for a 40 minute workout.
  • Today I did Strength Pull for 35 minutes and Blast and Burn for 15 minutes burned a total of 450 calories. I also did TKD class - decent workout for about 15 minutes, but then had to help hold boards and teach a new white belt.
  • Ok - best thing ever for sore bum - a foam roller. It is God's give to a cramping hip and but muscles! Love IT! Today had a bit of a headache but I know exercise usually takes care of it. Medicine ball work out from Daily Burn it was nice. Not sure if we are going for a walk - husband is at TKD. Headache is much better…
  • I have the fitbit one as well - and I love it. I have to remember everything in moderation, that includes information too. I'm not too hung up on worrying about car rides, and the exact accuracy of the fitbit. What I am tracking are my tendencies. The best advice I have every gotten is that if it is working for you keep at…
  • @SD67 I use a racket ball to massage my foot. It has a little give and the exercise video I was watching also suggested a tennis ball. I had issues with my feet and had to stop doing some exercise for a while. My chiropractor in town fitted me with some kind of plastic orthodics (sorry for spelling) and it has made all the…
  • Today I did Daily Burns Intense Abs burned 474 calories. We also had a nice TKD workout for about 60 minutes. I am just tracking using my fitbit. Tomorrow is going to busy day. I need to decide if I want to get up early on a Saturday to get a work out it. I have meetings tomorrow and expect to be sitting most of the day :…
  • OOps this should have been on Nov 15. Today I did Daily Burns Intense Abs burned 474 calories. We also had a nice TKD workout for about 60 minutes. I am just tracking using my fitbit. Tomorrow is going to busy day. I need to decide if I want to get up early on a Saturday to get a work out it. I have meetings tomorrow and…
  • November 14 Today I worked out to Daily Burn Kickboxing Interval Training. Burned 467 calories! Couldn't make it to TKD had two meetings, but planning on going for a walk a little later. Have a great day!
  • Yesterday a mild Tae Kwon Do work out. Today I did Cardio Strength from Daily Burn and my husband and walked 1.7 miles in the cold dark night. It was nice, but chilly 40 degrees. I only think about running, I used to say that is why I do martial arts so that if someone is chasing me I will just stop and defend myself…
  • November 8 - 1 hour brown and black belt Tae Kwon Do class. Good workout. I can really tell I am getting in better shape. November 9 - 42 minute medicine ball workout on the Daily Burn November 10 - a 1.7 mile walk with husband outside nice night. Should have worked out on Sunday but still under my calories so all is good.
  • Hi I'm Jen from Iowa. I'm 42. We (my husband and I) started MFP in late May. It has changed our lives. We needed it. I am working on almost 60 llbs. I am a high school math teacher in our small town. I love it. I am also a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. It is an important part of my family's life. My husband and…
  • I have found the using MFP has made a huge difference. My husband and I are fairly active people, we are black belts in tae kwon do. We even did P90x a couple of times. We toned ourselves up, but never really lost the weight that we were suppose to because we didn't watch what we ate. I never really ate large portions -…
  • I need volume sometimes. When I need to feed my face with two hands and completely wipe out a container of something just to feel sane (I know it doesn't sound sane) I will air pop a bowl of popcorn use low cal spray butter and have at it. I haven't done that in a while so I'm hoping that I weaning myself of that habit. I…

  • Speaking of facebook - I have all these bigger pictures of myself on facebook and I'm ok with that but yet I haven't posted a single picture of myself after 50 lbs lost. I'm a little nervous to. Not sure if I feel vulnerable or just not time to or what. I too do not like looking at pictures of myself. Although I feel good…
  • Forms are my favorite because I like the steady breathing, it calms me down after all the kicks and basic movements. At my black belt test I was glad we got to our forms, it let us get into our rhythm of things - we had 12 of us from the same area testing and we did a great job of staying together. You could really tell we…
  • My school is a nonprofit. Black belt instructors volunteer their time. We are a traditional family styled TKD. I feel we embrace all martial arts but enjoy the discipline and respect the traditional method gives us. We practice self-defense techniques, forms and board-breaking. I know that some of our students have black…

  • I'm impressed with everyone's background in this group - maybe a little intimidated, but I enjoy reading about everyone's journey and that is what martial arts is really about. I am currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt in TKD. We study both WTF and ITF forms. I love TKD - it has helped me become a stronger person in all…
  • I loved your collar bone comment. Me too. Sometimes I catch myself feeling my collar bone - because it's there! Silly me.
