  • That was sweet :) I have heard that it's good to occasionally go over on your calories because it tricks your body's metabolism. You have to surprise it every once in a while. Also it keeps you from going crazy and totally overindulging.
  • I don't know I've never tried it but have wanted to. 300 seems pretty good to me, yoga is a lower impact exercise... Does it really get your heart rate up high?
  • It is hard to eat 1200, but if you added even just 100 more a day you would still be losing weight. Eating every couple of hours isn't a bad thing, just try to fill up on high protein and or high fiber foods.
  • I like the weight watchers string cheese. It tastes good and its only 50 cals a stick.
  • Welcome! You will love this site. People are so helpful and friendly. I try to read a few posts each night and I usually get good ideas and inspirations. Good luck!

  • I guess it would depend on how much protein. I know that excess protein can be hard on your kidneys long term... I would research it though, I'm no doctor! Don't be too short on your carbs though, glucose is the only substance that the brain can use! Normal diets should be about 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat, but I…

Read nutrition labels and buy cereals and bread with the least amount of sugar and the most amount of fiber. I have been practicing at eating healthy for ten years now. It does not happen overnight, so…
  • Nuts of any kind (dry roasted). They are high in calories in a small portion, the calories come from fat but its the good fat!
  • Turkey and chicken breast meat (lunchmeat slices are easy on the go), tuna, fat free dairy products (with no sugar added, they already have some carbs) eggs. (hard boiled, good for on the go.) I ran into that problem too, mostly because I wanted convenience foods because I am always on the go, I just had to find easy to…
  • One scrambled egg with two or three egg whites. Add your favorite veggies like tomatoes or spinach or mushrooms and spices. Have a slice of plain toast and jelly on the side. (I love breakfast for dinner!)

  • Weight watchers also has a bread at 45 calories a slice. It is high in fiber too.
  • I think its great that you dance with your kids! I don't have a gym either, but I recently found that hulu.com has free exercise tv where you can find all kinds of workouts, aerobics, yoga, pilates, you name it. all you need is a little space around your computer! I bet your kids would do that with you too! Good…
  • Sara Lee Delightful bread is actually pretty normal tasting. It is 45 cals per slice. It is usually a little more expensive than regular bread, but I think its worth it. As far as tortillas, I'm still looking... They do tast like cardboard! For now I just eat the small soft taco size...
