I was able to wear a peacoat I rescued from my sister a while ago. When I got it it barely buttoned. The last time I put it on it pulled at the top and bottom buttons (hips and boobs lol). Today it fit perfectly with no pulling at all.

Do exercises that build the muscles in your legs and butt (squats are your friend). That said unless you're really overweight it's hard to both lose weight and build muscle.

When I push my sweatshirt sleeves up they no longer stay up past my elbows they keep falling down.

I did not use pi(e) day as an excuse to eat pizza. I had the calories for two slices but since I was home alone tonight I knew I would eat the whole pizza. And I'm halfway through my 30 day challenges. I can do way more squats than I would have thought.

My sister made cookies today and told me they were ready while I was in the middle of my (treadmill) run. So two victories: 1. I finished my run instead of stopping in the middle. 2. She left me three cookies on a plate I only ate one and a half. Also to make my treadmill run more impressive, my treadmill hasn't been…

OP here. Thanks everyone so much for the advice it's much appreciated! In answer to some of the questions: I did go to a running store in August to get fitted for shoes and they had me run on a treadmill and videotaped it. They said my stride was good and that i wasn't over or under pronating but I was tensing my upper…

I am in fact running on a treadmill as I heard that was a little easier on your body (also I listen to music pretty loudly and zone out so it seemed safer than being outside).

i use a heart rate monitor (fitbit blaze, i love it) as trying to track the exact times and mph and then figure out calories burned is why too much work for me.

My grandma gave me a ring for Christmas one year when I was in high school. I could just wear it on my right pinky finger. I saw it a couple weeks ago and it matched my outfit so i though I'd try it. It fit on my left ring finger. Today I was able to wear it on my right middle finger and I could even get it on my left…

I love the kid sized meal thing. I wouldn't have thought of doing that at the movie theater. I love it!

Mini goal: 15lbs by New Years Not So Mini Goals: I've got three weddings coming up in the next year. I want to be 50 lbs lighter by the first in April, 65 by the second in June and 100 by the third next January.

There was a really interesting article in the NYTimes following up with the biggest loser contestants. Many of them had gained weight back and all of them had greatly reduced metabolisms for example one contestant's body burns 800 calories fewer a day than a person at the same weight who had never been fat. One of the…

It's been two hours and I have not gone downstairs to eat a brownie. I have taken a shower and brushed my teeth and now I'm going to do squats until the idea of going downstairs at all is painful. I am not going to eat that damned brownie.

Hi, I'm Erin from Virginia. I've been heavy all my life so everything is sort of new territory for me. I've lost about 20 pounds so far but I've got a long way to go still. I'm hoping that joining this group will help me get through the holidays on track.

I've got two. 1. I ran for twenty minutes today without stopping. Holy $*(% I would not have believed that was possible even a month ago. 2. Despite thinking about it for the last hour, I have not had another pumpkin chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. And I'm about to get ready for bed so I should be safe until tomorrow.

Got my first "have you lost weight" today!

I've always wanted to try horseback riding. And ziplining sounds awesome. Not being afraid to go to amusement parks because I'm worried about not being able to fit on the rides.

Very cool! What of?

I weigh every day. It's hard not to obsess over it but I find it helpful to see the immediate changes. I had a lot of salt now it's up no surprises. It's just interesting to see how quickly diet can reflect in my weight. I do occasionally weigh myself in the evening as well just to remind myself that there are natural…

Definitely see a doc, but when I'm on BC I don't get a period. It really freaked me out at first but my gyno said it was fine. At most I'll see some spotting for a day but that's about it. It comes back if I go off the pill for about two weeks.

Enell. The first sports bra I've ever owned where I don't move at all. It's fantastic.

For me it's forcing myself to keep logging and acknowledging that whatever it was wasn't the healthiest choice I could have made but not using it as an excuse to keep going. Well I already had the cheeseburger for lunch so why not have the pizza and coke for dinner. I'm trying not to look at it as a zero sum game. Maybe I…

To hit 275 for my birthday. It's on the 26th. I'm 280.9 today so I'm not sure if it's realistic (I'll know tomorrow when my TOM water weight should be gone). It would be nice though ;)
-
Congratulations!!! That's wonderful!

Add me! 281 down from 292 and aiming for 150ish.

Always. I hit 240 in the 9th grade. I remember my mom telling me I was going to be fat as a house in middle school. Even then I remember being furious because she was the one buying all of the crap I kept eating. I lived in a house where vegetables were optional and if necessary corn was most likely or creamed corn. Flash…

Oo add me! I'm overweight enough that I'm hoping for 50 but the realistic goal is 40.

I have a few! (I'm so excited) 1. No muffin top on my jeans, no sucking in at all to do them up. They're completely comfortable. 2. I can wear a ring my grandmother gave me in high school on my right ring finger. It used to be tight on my left pinkie. 3. This one's not so great but I'll take it. I'm down a cup size. I'm…

I used Zombies Run. They have a 5k training version that's helpful. It has a story and mission goals that really help distract me from worrying about other people while running. It's kind of silly but fun.
