You cannot outwork a bad diet, no matter how hard you try.

Nice to see someone else pulling sumo. Good lifts!

Liquor with no calorie mixers (or drink it straight).

I've been using Chuck Taylors for lifting for years and its been pretty great. Anything with a flat sole (no running or cross trainers) will work. Weight lifting shoes can be pretty pricey (I've heard $100) but may hold up better than Chucks.

Mine got so bad I needed several cortisone shots right in the heel. If the stretching and splints don't help you may want to explore that option. I got several months of relief from that before the pain crept back.

Hungry Man frozen dinners.

Get my shoulder rehabbed and no alcohol this month.

Almonds were a big surprise. One small tin I'd eat in a sitting was almost a thousand calories.

How do you sabotage yourself? Do you buy junk when grocery shopping or hit the vending machines at work? If you have a sweet tooth like me, chew gum. It really helps!

I bought shirts and pants from Target, not a Big 'n' Tall store for the first time since 9th grade.

Mentos gum, still there.

While stretches and supports can be very helpful, I needed several cortizone shots to get mine under control. If you work a job that requires being on your feet you may want to consider that. Otherwise, stretching it and doing more swimming or exercise bike work will allow you to keep the cardio without taxing your feet.

My shifts rotate every few months and right now I am on nights. We do 9 hour days 5 on 3 off. I do pretty much what grentea does and plan my meals ahead of time. Snacks are usually a bag of veggies or a pouch of tuna. I drink a lot of water, two cups of coffee and I bring plenty of gum to chew when the sweet cravings hit.…

I'll add glute ham raises and good mornings to the list.

Here is a good explanation as to why you are losing though eating more: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/sclark60.htm As long as you are eating below TDEE you should continue to lose weight, but if you were eating well below TDEE (more than 20% deficit) your weight loss may stall for reasons in the above article. Eating at…

There is an article by Richard Talens fitness called "Taming the Scale". Google it (I can't link it as the shortened version of Richard gets censored) and read it. I think it will help put things in prospective.

I sing and dance... I am not allowed to drink anymore :(

I've been taking two antihistamines to deal with my exercise-indiced hives: cimetidine and desloratadine. Luckily my hives don't itch which is kinda weird.

My advice is twofold: One, get a good pair of running shoes. Don't skimp on this, your joints will thank you. Two, listen to your body and if you have to take a day off here and there, do it. Me? I started running at 350lbs.

Bring a bag to carry around with you as you float from building to building to hold some snacks in between meals. As for exercise, if you work in multi-story buildings, take the stairs up and down as much as you can. Every little bit helps! I am more concerned about your sleep schedule. When I work nights I am lucky to get…

Hungryman XL dinner. Usually fried chicken. I would wash that down with at least one bowl of ice cream with hot fudge. Looking back, I am astonished I only ballooned to 350lbs.

I saw one that had a mother and four kids with the daddy "stick" behind prison bars. Kinda depressing.

I was originally going to post about BMI being nonsense but apparently some places have a maximum BMI for organ donation. You should work and work hard to lose weight, but expecting a drastic weight loss in the amount of time provided will not happen, or if it does will make you too weak to handle the transplant and…
