  • My beauty certainly doesn't lie in my hair. I like my hair, and yes I would be sad if I lost it, but it doesn't make or break me. I also didn't have this surgery to be beautiful. My health was waning and I needed to get things under control. Looking better is simply a bonus. I, for one, appreciate the honesty of that…
  • The stall is expected if you've just begun exercising. You have lost quite a bit of muscle mass over the last 6 months as part of your weight loss, so now that you're exercising, it's building again. Muscle weighs more than fat, so it is very possible you could even see a brief gain. What matters is inches. I would…
  • Sleeved 9/22/14, feel free to add me!
  • It really is impossible to say. When I was in high school I weighed 148 lbs and was a size 10. I am now at 173 and a size 10 is beginning to get a little loose. I guess I carried my weight in different areas then. But being the same height now as I was then, that is a perfect example of sizes being a crap shoot! 25 lbs…
  • I just finished shopping for new tops with my husband. I grabbed all larges ands my husband argued with me that they would be too big. He insisted that I at least try them all on, and guess what? I left the store with mediums, and even some of the mediums I tried on were too big. I just can't wrap my head around it!

  • If you are still trying to lose, go for the protein. High protein is essential for weight loss And health during the process.
  • It may sound silly, but I over fill my plate to avoid cleaning it. When there are just a few bites left, that's when I'm tempted to finish it. If I put enough on my plate that there is a lot left over after I hit my full mark, I am more willing to just stop and put up the left overs.
  • I am 5 1/2 months out and my addiction became exercise. I suppose there could be worse addictions, but it got bad. I would work out hard everyday, but to the point that the workouts were no longer benefiting me. My body wasn't recovering and I hurt all the time. I couldn't let myself slow down, though. For the first time…
  • Love this! I just laughed out loud in a meeting. Oops! Lol
  • I would advice not telling other people what their stomach can and cannot handle. Everyone's surgery is different and comments such as this can just make a person feel needlessly guilty. I am 5 months out but have been able to easily handle 4-5 oz of protein plus an ounce or 2 of sides since the beginning. I've still lost…
  • I am 5 months out and 85 lbs down. When I look in the mirror I still see the 260 lb me, just with some muscle definition. It's when I look at pictures that I see the real difference. A BIG DIFFERENCE. Sometimes I will stand in front of a mirror holding a picture of myself and compare. They are two different people. I don't…
  • At 5 months out I am at 800 cals, but my doc has given me permission to up to 1000 if I find myself getting hungrier. When my day is protein packed, I still have a hard time even getting to 800, though.
  • I also use the premier protein rtd shakes as my creamer. Usually half a shake for my 3-4 cups, then I drink the other half for my breakfast. You can use powder if you mix it with milk first and make a paste out of it, then add it to the coffee. It will blend just find, but it doesn't taste as good to me. Plus it's more…
  • I am 5 months out and eat sushi all the time. First time was about 2 months out and I never had issues with the rice. Of course I can't eat nearly as much as I used to! I had some Saturday, 2 small salmon and half a roll (4 pieces).
  • The way my surgeon explained it is that we can expect to lose about 60% of our excess weight if we do nothing but have the surgery and follow the plan. When we reduce our calories as much as we do, we will lose weight, to a point. If we want to lose more than that, we have to exercise, and exercise hard. Walking is…
  • I'm open about the surgery. When people ask, I don't want to give the false impression that simple diet and exercise is what worked. Fact is, that didn't work and surgery was the best choice for me. That may be the case for someone else, too, and maybe I'll inspire them to move forward. Personally, I don't really care what…
  • ^^^Yes, I highly recommend the isopure. I'm almost 5 months out and I still use it. If it's too strong you can dilute it, but you've seriously gone too long without nutrients. You will feel a million times better once you start getting some protein in.
  • Sleeved 9/22/14, sent you a request. Welcome!
  • I think this entire thread has gone completely off the rails. I do not have a new "plan", nor am I living "off program". I am still logging everything, hitting my macros and exercising daily. I simply felt that I needed, and therfore had, ONE weekend that was free of worry about my weight/weight loss/calorie intake/etc. I…
  • At no point in my post did I suggest that anyone else should think the way I do. I was simply stating that I've seen a lot of people posting lately that they are failures because of a few bad days. My point is that NO ONE is a failure. Regardless of how you choose to "live the plan", we all have horrible days. Those…
  • Yes! There is another thread on here about the same thing. We've lost our insulation! Lol
  • My doc said wine was fine after 3 months. I will occasionally have some, but typically for special occasions/cheat days so I don't really have to worry about the calories. Really though, I get drunk so fast now that is hardly any calories anyways! Lol
  • Rscpjim- I just couldn't stomach the pureed diet, threw up more than I kept down because I thought it was disgusting. So I just made sure to chew soft foods until it was mush and I was just fine. I am 4 months out and I have not once thrown up due to the surgery, nor have I had bowel issues. Everyone is different.
  • I am completely useless without a couple cups of coffee a day. I have slowly weaned myself off sweetening my coffee at all. Now I use a premier protein shake instead of creamer. It has just enough sweetness, and I get my protein in too.
  • I am a special needs teacher and was back to work after week. Other than having to watch out for punches to the gut, I had no issues returning to work that soon.
  • At 2 months I was down 52.2, and at 4 months I am now down 76 lbs. I have a total of 110 to lose, so 35 to goal.
  • I am a little over 4 months post op and I promise it does get better! There were several times during the pre op and post op liquid phase that I said "WHY AM I DOING THIS?!" But you know what? Looking back, that time was like a drop in the bucket. It will be over before you know it and you will be well on your way to a…
  • I am a little over 4 months out as well and I can take normal sips. I cannot chug which I found the hard way. I got heavy into working out one day and started gulping like I used to without thinking. Won't do that again, but now I've learned how to drink steadily and I don't feel like I'm just baby sitting a bottle of…
  • Thanks for the input everyone! I'm going to try upping my calories to 800 a day and see what happens. I did yesterday which gave me just enough room for an afternoon snack, and I was able to get through the evening without feeling hunger for the first time in weeks. Really hope this helps!
