I personally like dedicated days. You are working out 3 times a week. In my opinion it is better to do it that way. You can give body parts time to rest and recover, and then up the weigh for the next week. I also like to emphasize compound movements (bench press, squat, overhead press, deadlift) in addition to isolation…

You could do what I do and do a 5 day split... Less days without lifting. Makes me happy lol.

I'm sure some foods have them, but most preworkouts have them as well. Things like C4, or Optiumum Nutrition Essential Amino Energy. They also have the added benefit of making for great workouts!

FWIW: I have gone from untrained to novice (and getting decently close to intermediate, but I usually don't try to 1RM, so I have to use the calculator), and I have added mass, not only strength. That of course isn't proof or anything, but I would be doubtful if you could "jump" one level only because of neural adaptation,…

Not... really. Better than sitting? Yes. But you would have to do a decent amount of Wii Boxing to burn any significant amount of calories. You would be better off doing burpees and pushups and stuff.

Can you ask to bring in heavier dumbbells into the room maybe?

I don't count cleaning. I got fat and I cleaned just as much as I do now. I won't get skinny cleaning my apartment. I won't even count mowing the lawn (which I sometimes help my dad with), and that's a rare activity nowadays. If I got fat doing it, I won't count it.

My gym routine is really strange. I know people here will tell me I am probably being dumb, but w/e. This works for me. I do this 6 days a week: Run .5 miles to the gym. Work 1 major muscle group incorporating both compound and isolation exercises, I rotate the days so one body part will be worked twice a week. The major…

I had a bad day yesterday. I gained back all 65 pounds I lost, and my muscle I have been building turned to fat or worse, evaporated. Wat do?

I.... don't find this surprising. People underestimate how many calories they eat a day. Or overestimate how many they burn. Or both. The nutrition research isn't fatally flawed, in my opinion. Most people don't count calories. I know someone who is pretty overweight and who swears up and down that they have never eaten…

Well I dunno about an apple... But I love it on chicken! ETA: C18H27NO3 is Capsaicin, AKA the stuff that makes peppers spicy.

Pick up heavy things. Check out Starting Strength, New Rules of Lifting for Women, or Stronglifts. That will keep you at your approximate weight, but reduce flab. Or it could make you gain weight, but lose flab. Muscle is magic like that.

Bacon can be found at Whole Foods, therefore it is a whole food QED. Or for a different proof: Bacon is food. Bacon comes in strips which are not broken (whole). Therefore, bacon is a whole food. QED.

Shrimp, all the way down.

For me, I measure my workout performances by how many personal records I set during that workout. Did I run farther? Lift heavier? And so on...

Cleaning is my super-secret tech for getting shredded. Barbell squats? Deadlifts? Bench presses? Running? Who needs that crap when I have the might of Swiffer and Dyson behind me! /s Listen, 90% of us are on here cause we are or were fat. If we got fat doing it, what makes you think you will get skinny doing it? If you do…
-
How often will you be doing it? And how long will you have? If you are gonna be lifting 4 days a week, or something, it will be better for you to do a split. If you are only doing it 1-2 days a week, doing a full body routine will be more beneficial.

So is dihydrogen monoxide, very scary indeed! I think we should avoid the stuff at all costs.

I don't use it cause I think it tastes HORRIBLE. I despise the stuff.

NOT YELLING AT ME.

I grunt, I try to keep it a little quiet, but I do grunt. Also, foolsforsarah, it is wary not weary. Sorry, one of my pet peeves. Unless you are saying you are weary of lifting all heavy weights because its hard work. It is, lifting makes me weary and I am always wary of my form.

Feel free to add me! I love new friends!

I certainly wouldn't mind it!

It was actually never stated Eve ate an apple. The closest description we have is in the book of Enoch: "It was like a species of the Tamarind tree, bearing fruit which resembled grapes extremely fine; and its fragrance extended to a considerable distance. I exclaimed, How beautiful is this tree, and how delightful is its…

Pretty good, yeah! I might be a little off on the numbers, but I thought it was 75. I know she got up to 65. Maybe 75 was her second time at the gym... And yeah know, any amount of weight lifting is good. Everyone has to start somewhere. You really can't compare yourself to others.

I am (quite obviously) not a woman. However, I did bring my 5'2", 165 lb wife to the gym to lift weights the other day. She never did a bench press before. She did 2 warmup sets of 45, then 2 work sets of 65, then 2 work sets of 75, if I remember correctly.

Every few days is still a lot. Add a few seconds every day, if anything. Or don't tell yourself "I will only run X time then stop" just run until you can't do any more, then run just to the next telephone pole, then slow down, then see how long you ran.

If running is what you want to do, your plan seems pretty decent (just make sure you don't overexert yourself and get hurt). But on the flipside, if you don't like running, you don't HAVE to do it. I don't like biking as much as I like running, so I don't own a bike. Not everyone enjoys every exercise. The best exercise is…
