I celebrated the 20th anniversary of my 49th birthday this year!! lol This site has been great for me getting my calorie consumption under control. I've been on MFP for over 2 years now. Feel free to add me if you like even tho I'm a couple of years past the 40 mark. :-)

Walden Farms-they have various flavors, ranch, chipolte, etc and they are 0 calories.

I have had the same problem. I am in decent shape but I recently climbed a 14K mountain and about 1/4 of the way up my heart rate jumped to 215 bpm! Scared me. I fast for 24 hours, generally once a week. I return to normal eating after the 24 hour fast, and it works great.

I make a smoothie. 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup steel cut oats, uncooked.

I have started doing 1 to 2 fasts per week. I base it on a book written by Brad Pilon, Eat Stop Eat. You can read about it at eatstopeat.com. His is a 24 hr. fast, no calories. I like it and seems to work really good.

Whole wheat pita works great-split in half and brown in oven first and then whatever toppings you like.

I like the Paleo Diet, lean meats and fruits and vegitables. It has worked for me. I essentially stay away from all dairy, grains, and starchy foods and have had good results.
