Fit 50 year old

Hi, I'm basically a fit 50 year old that does not want to give up. I do not like giving in to the aches and pains that seem to take over.
I am very motivated, but can always learn new things and just BE BETTER...looking for others that feel the samel

50 year olds can do this too. I will be 56 on Friday and have lost 43 pounds since July 12. Eating better and walking 4 to 8 miles a day. Feel much better. Come on in and join the fun.

I'm new to the site, 52 years old. Is there a particular message board you post on? I have approximately 100 lbs to lose and really committed to losing the weight. I'm looking for support.

You know, 50 is young!!!! I'm 58 and feel awesome. I've been able to keep my weight under control for the last 2.5 years. I exercise a lot. But I wasn't that way in my early 50's. I discovered yoga and recommited to Weight Watchers and I think I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. I now practice yoga at least 3 times per week and go to the gym almost every day plus work with a trainer once a week. Best of everything to you. And if you'd like to add me, please do - I enjoy the support of MFP friends as well as encouraging others.

I'm a fairly fit 50 year old as well, but I am trying to lose some weight and get fitter yet. I've been on this site since early Sept. and have found it very helpful. Add me as a friend, if you'd like. So far all of my friends are a lot younger than I am. I guess it's about time I also had some my own age

I rode the COG to the top of Pikes Peak last month. What an accomplishment for you to HIKE all the way to the top! WAY TO GO my. Friend! And what a beautiful state you live in!
  • I am 54 and just signed up last week. I cover the fit part rather well, I do the treadmill in the winter months & bicycle in the summer, as well as a weekly yoga class. I do however need to get my diet back under control and just the last 5 days have been eye opening. I am always open to more support and sharing ideas.
  • Your situation sounds just like mine. Hang in there. You are taking action and making strides toward your goal. You can do it!

I'm a 56 YO who live in pain every day, I retired from the military over 7 yrs ago and because of DDD in my back was unable or will to run. But I didn't want to continue going to VA, taking shots, Med's and watching myself get bigger and blood pressure go higher; I'd seen my wife use this site and had so much success I gave it a try and dropped weight, BP and ran my 2nd Army Ten Miler this past Sunday. The site works & the support is super you just have to commit & keep moving forward! :)
