Well, since I could still yell at the kids to get out of kicking range I guess I was ok. :)

I'm glad to see others are getting crazy high burns. I wasn't sure my HRM was actually correct! I'm doing CVX today and I may end up doing most of it without weights since 10lb is all I've got.

I tried P90X when it first came out and I'd try to push through the workouts and end up so sore I didn't keep it up. With two very small children at the time I also didn't have the time for the workouts. I have been doing Les Mills Combat off and on and really enjoy it. It makes me want a heavy bag to beat on for sure.…

I'm trying to eat as much gluten-free as I can since I have an allergy to wheat (not celiac but still doesn't make me feel good). I found a GF granola so I've been having that and almond milk for breakfast. An apple for a snack. Lunch is usually a protein shake, some kind of fruit or veggie for a snack and dinner is…

Total Synergistics was fun! I made it through 20 min of it and laid in a puddle on the floor for about 10 min. :) I'm looking forward to seeing how much I improve next week. AgilityX was also a lot of fun. Again, I only made it through about 20 min but it's going to be better next week! YogaX was a good follow-up for those…

Hi everyone. Glad to see a group on here. I'm Lauren and I'm about as far from the ideal P90X candidate as you can get. I used to be in excellent shape, prior to kids, but now that my youngest is 4 (yikes!) I cannot simply say it's "baby weight" and need to do something about it. I really enjoy these workouts, I wear a…

I enjoyed Agility X. Maybe next time I can finish it! :) I'm not exactly the ideal candidate for this program but it's fun!

I'll check it out!

Mike, I'm from The South ;) (Tennessee) and even I think the doomsday terms used for weather like this is amusing and I totally agree with your movie sequels. Angie, way to go with the 2 workouts in one day. I'm pretty sure I'd be a puddle on the floor after that. So far I haven't made it all the way through any of the…

I'm starting with classic. Lean is too cardio heavy for me right now and I really need the muscle tone back. I'm skipping the Challenge workout and just moving on since I can't do a push-up or pull-up yet but it will come.
-
I'm doing the classic schedule and just trying to eat clean. I've been out of the loop for so long that right now I'm just trying to get through the workouts each day and still walk. :)

I'm starting tomorrow...er...today (my days are a bit mixed up since I work nights). Can't wait!

Not many ideas on specific challenges but I like the idea of small weekly challenges and one overall monthly challenge.

Goals: 1. Get out of plus sized clothing. 2. Lose 1-2 lbs/week 3. Wear my favorite jeans again. 4. Get back into my bikini!! 5. Be able to rock climb again!

Age: 30 Kids: 2 girls (3 & 4) Occupation: Nursing tech/mom/wife Hobbies: photography, reading Weight: 259 First goal: 200 I've been a fair-weather MFP member but something's gotta change - and this weight has got to go. I'm sick of being the fat sister and being ashamed of being in front of the camera rather than just…

I'm in Chattanooga. I'll have to check out the Parkway. I bet it's pretty.

I also found out that I was burning more (usually) then the machines said and this way I can track my distance/calories when I hike and bike as well. Sweet! I found the HRM strap for about $36 on eBay - about $35 for the SpeedTrap for my bike - $10 for the iPhone attachment and $15 for the app that tracks all the above…

Yes...yes...yes...and yessss! I completely agree!

I love almond milk. The vanilla is just too sweet for me so I stick with the original.

I have considered that scale because, like you, I love the gadgets. I might have to make that my "less than 200lbs" reward. I love my iPhone, Digifit app with Digifit adapter, HRM and bicycle speed sensor. Yea for gadgets!

I'm 5'8" and 235 and P90X is a bit extreme for me. I can do it but I feel better if I just do weights and cardio. When I lose a few more lbs and get my endurance up a bit I'll try it again. Some people love it but I'd rather tackle that one when I don't want to shoot myself after every workout.

Question: I just bought http://www.pearlizumi.com/publish/content/pi_2010/us/en/index/products/women/ride/footwear/road_footwear.-productCode-5775.html and am curious what some economical pedal/cleats are for them. I know almost nada about road biking gear so ... I'm a tad lost.

I would fit your requirements! ;0) Just ordered my bike and can't wait! Yea! I'm considering a charity ride in April. There are several brackets - just don't know if I'd be up for a Century ride in 2 months. Yikes! I might do one of the shorter brackets. Although, I would love to do the Bike Across Georgia sometime.

That's awesome - on both accounts. I was in the UK about 7 years ago (can't believe it was that long ago) and did the ferry to Calais. Nice little ride. I'd love to do the Coast to Coast route. I wonder how much it would cost to fly my bike to the UK with me. Talk about a dream vacation.
-
Just got back from the bike shop where I ordered my bike. Can't wait till Thursday! Also ordered a Road ID. Never heard of them but what a terrific idea! Thanks for the tip!

You're right on about it being an outlet. It's like flying away from my stress. I'm a stay-at-home-mom and being able to ride is such a helpful stress outlet. There are probably bike clubs around but the bike shop I'm using has a weekly ride every Thursday that I'll try to go on.

The ride from London to Paris - which ferry do you take across? How far is the ride? I'd love to bike across the UK. Was it an event or just something you decided to do?

Thanks for the tip! I'll check them out for sure. This is one of the few times I'm glad I don't live in the north. The biking "season" is pretty much year round if you have the right (windproof) clothing.
