Thanks for everyone taking the time to chime in. I really appreciate it. If no one had said anything, I would have even been more frustrated and just threw in the towel. This gives me more inspiration to stay on track. If one thing to remember is to look at the long tern and not just day to day losses and gains.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who weighs themself every day.

Lots of truth in this. During the bike ride, it was sips of water here and there. Barely ate. Made sure I took an Imodium before biking so I wouldn't have to poop in that 4 hour window. It gets so frustrating bc we talk about calories in vs calories out and I definitely had almost a day's worth of calories out. And, same…

Hey, callsitlikeIseeit! That was a really informative post. I do have a food scale, but I have rarely used it for my own food intake. I do cook for a living, so I've used it for that mostly. I will be referring back to the flowchart you shared. Helpful. Though I will be honest that I've never understood the "eating back…

Even when I think I'm cutting calories, I find that I'm not cutting calories. Meaning, I think I'm making good choices for food, but when I log them, I find out that I am over my calorie goal unless I do a major workout.

No, I haven't been in to a doc in about 3 years. I really should up-to-date on some things.

I can't seem to eat less calories. I even cut out starches from my dinners so that it is only protein and veggies. I have a small portion of dessert bc I'm using still starving from dinner. I'm struggling with what to eat to fulfill me, but not to consumer too many calories. Oh, and my pants are definitely on the tighter…

Yes, I do track calories too.

"I love pukka teas! Not sure if you have it in the US though. As everyone else has said they do nothing for “detoxing” but they do include different herbs and things that could have some health benefits. I like valerian tea at night and have a few other varieties for during the day, mainly ones with licorice." Copied from…

The only "detox" I know that really works is when a drunk gets thrown into jail for the night. Other OTC drinks, foods, pills, powders, etc. are UNSUPPORTED for evidence that they "detox" anything from the body. Good reply. Thanks.

The subject's come up before. More details here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1159755/looking-for-a-detox-cleanse/p1 To AnnPT77- Thanks for sharing this link to the discussion and confirming what I thought to be true even before buying the tea. But, true that I am using it to try to fill in for an…

Could always use more support and friends. Do we still "Friend Request" with an email address? I recall that's how it used to be.

Hello Team Members. My MFP name is Doutri2 and you can see my bike that I used to compete in triathlons with- sprints and minis. I live in IL with my husband and two teens. I run cooking classes and birthday parties for kids, based around cooking and cupcake decorating. I am a former FACS teacher and now a substitute…

The day I stepped on the scale and saw a number I haven't had since being pregnant 14 years ago. Also, when I went to put on a pair of shorts for summer and I couldn't button the button. I knew I had to get back to tracking. I am active, but I need to be more intentional about choosing metabolism revving activities.

Grace, you and I seem to be in similar boats. I noticed today that I first joined in 2011. I was active on MFP here and there, but never a strong commitment. Within the past 3 months of Shelter in Place and no access to a gym or workouts, I'm backing back to the baby weight I had with my 2nd child. Clothes are fitting way…

I am late in joining, but I don't want to miss out on tracking. MFP Original weight was around 123lbs. As of today, I am at 135 lbs. (Thanks, Shelter in Place) I need to get back down to 125lbs, but I am nursing a stress fracture in my foot. So, the weight loss has to be more food related for me. Guess that puts me at a…

I can be accountable when I use MFP to track food and exercise. I am also a Fitbit wearer, but without tracking food, i think I can just eat anything if I hit my 10,000 steps. Wrong! So, I've been putting on weight instead of it coming off. Would love to have more MFP friends for support and accountability. Thanks.

This has been so interesting to read all of the responses and how varied they are. How brave of all of you speak up on such a private, personal matter. But, sharing these experiences hopefully helps someone else. Ever since my 2nd child born(2005), I never know if I'm going to have regular bowel movements or diarrhea from…

I've never classified myself as IBS or tried FODMAP specifically, but I have heard of it and researched it. If you hunt around on the web, you should find some info. For me, I know I cannot digest peanuts/legumes/beans, onion, tomatoes and bell peppers. And possibly zucchini. I'm starting to wonder if some vegetables with…

Thanks for posting. I was wondering what was up yesterday. I think I'm all good today. The site is still running a little slow. But, my app is working just fine. I'm using that as my back-up to logging.

After 3 days on the 40/30/30 diet, I had 4 egg yolks in my fridge. So, I did a quick Google search and found the same topic in an article on Cooking Light's website. Today, I made a Creme Anglaise to pour over fresh fruit. I even used Skim Milk and Fat-Free 1/2 and 1/2. My kids loved it too and licked their bowls clean.

As a hula hoop fitness/ dance instructor, I commend you both for picking up the hula hoop to try it as fitness. It has both physical and emotional benefits in using the hoop as both an expression of fitness and an expression of dance.

Did you purchase your hoop at a discount or big box store? Does it come in pieces and have nubbies on the inside? That might be part of your problem. I would suggest either finding a local hoop maker (FB has directories) or purchasing a hoop from Etsy or Ebay. Most makers ship hoops. My friends who make are Sagitarius…

The size of your hoop matters too. When you place in upright in front of you, it should at least reach your navel. For some adults, especially if you are beginning again, the hoop may have to come up to your upper abs. I would also suggest looking up Beginner Hooping tutorials on YouTube.

I participated in a similar study at the Univ of Illinois at Chicago and they found the same results. However, as an instructor, I know I don't burn as much b/c I am used to it. So, I just plug in the activity as the Wii Hula Hoop fitness activity. Try also turn inside your hoop, but opposite the hoop's path. You will…

Hula Hooping seems to be so popular in Australia, especially with Deanna Love (aka hooplovers) residing in Sydney. Have you heard of her?
