Maybe instead of cutting out the snacks, you can come up with snacks that are less calorie dense or figure out what you can cut out of your meals to allow yourself the calories for snacking? I make sure that my meals are smaller so I can have an afternoon and evening snack (and occasionally a morning snack, as well). For…

It certainly helps keep me motivated and up moving. I would encourage it, personally, but like it's been said before, it's entirely up to you.

I did the same thing when I originally began weighing my food a couple years ago. Then I realized there had to be a better way to measure condiments.

So true.

Wine. Hands down, wine.

In the same boat. Shooting to lose the last of the weight I gained during the most recent pregnancy and trying to be patient. No real advice, just a little support.
-
I just had a baby last month and a good portion of the ladies on BabyCenter were planning on doing it. I looked at it for about three seconds and realized it sounds awful. No thank you.

I set mine at what I weighed after my second child, before the third. It is an appropriate weight for my age and is considered "healthy" by BMI standards.

Once a week - Sunday morning, first thing.

Just keep in mind the goal. For me, it's getting back into my pre-pregnancy clothes, so I just try to remind myself that eating more calories might feel good right now, but not being able to wear my clothes when I go back to work after maternity leave is going to feel really bad for much longer.

I could probably afford to encourage my family to be more healthy (married, have a 3 week old, 2 year old and a 7 year old). At this point, my diet really is about portion control, more than healthy eating (I'll work my way up to that), so their diet has remained largely the same, I just prepare mine separately. I so…

Yep. All of this.

Yep - exactly the same here. Sunday morning, first thing. I know myself - I couldn't deal with the day-to-day fluctuations that are inevitable.

This seems to be what I do - it totally works for me. In the afternoon, I pair this with distraction. Sometimes I will remind myself all afternoon that I can snack at 3:30 - then 3:30 rolls around and I either forget all about it or I'm not interested in snacking after all.

I had a lot of stuff leftover from when I was pregnant (not too much, mind you - I only gained 27 pounds) so I let myself eat it after I gave birth, but refused to replace it with like-kind snacks. What I replaced it with was healthier alternatives and low-calorie snacks. It took me about five weeks to get to where the…

11 weeks postpartum - please feel free to send me an invite!

No number for me either - although if I were a guy, it would be ranked #729.

Amazing - congratulations!!

I have a ten-week-old and a five-year-old. I do lots of lean meats and lentils/beans, often salads for lunch and protein bars for snacks in between. Small breakfasts of oatmeal or a bowl of cereal. I don't do a lot of carbs, because I would rather use the calories to smother something in cheese than serve it with a…

Oh geez...how did that happen?!
-
Also, they've posted the names of those who passed - you can find it on the Prescott Courier's homepage.

I agree. My heartfelt condolences go out to all of the families. I grew up in Prescott. My family is all still there, though we live about 90 miles south in Scottsdale. The area has just been gutted by it. In a town that small, it seems like everyone either knew someone on the crew, or knew someone who did.
-
That would make sense. I've never looked into it either - it sounds horrible.
-
Then why all the hype with bikram yoga?
-
I take weekly - yes, weekly - pictures. (My profile picture.) It helps me.

It's so true...

Ugh...isn't the heat a killer? I live in Scottsdale (Phoenix, Arizona) and it's about the same temperature-wise here. I get done with those walks and just feel drained (but accomplished, all the same). Congrats on getting through it!
-
I agree with everyone saying they like your dress - it's super cute! (And congratulations!)

I've had one day where I went about 300 calories over...other than that, no. No cheat days.
