That is such good news - well done you!!

I wonder whether someone could help me with a ramen noodles dilemma? Calories by packet weight: apparently 143 Calories after cooking: apparently nearly 500! I am missing something very, very obvious here, and if someone could explain what that is, I'd be really grateful xD

Thanks everyone - it was just what I needed when the numbers aren't going down!

I've lost 6lbs over night before now. Your general progress looks very similar to mine - up 2, down 3, up 4, no change, down 1 (and always up 2 after leg exercises)...if it isn't normal, neither am I ;-)
-
Ah, is THIS what I should have been doing all this time? How much can I expect to lose? What if I do both feet?
-
You lost 10lbs in 30 minutes? Have you considered making some money out of this? ;-)
-
No, you're right, you're not the only one - I did it as well :D

Man of Steel. Awful film!

Absolutely disgusting.
-
Yeah - my housemate. Ha!

I think running is just a much bigger impact on the body - it always seems to quite literally 'shift' everything for me!

The crying might be too strenuous for you to begin with. Build up slowly.
-
Wow, you really have done well.

Thanks everyone - I even woke up this morning worrying that I might find an e-mail saying I'd offended her or something...that's only happened a couple of times in my whole life but it only takes it happening once to contaminate your inbox for ever!! Shows how much it got to me. I was lying in bed last night and found…

Just wanted to say thanks to those who replied - I had an unexpected good cry after reading it all! Hopefully this is a positive step and that red number will bet a lot bigger (and maybe there will be some other changes too!!) x

I actually got fitted for running shoes. I know I over-pronate and decided not to risk it, having seen a friend end up with massive kneecap problems. It cost a bit, and running on a treadmill in public is an experience, but it's the best thing I ever did!

Great thread. Wish I'd seen this earlier.
-
You lot have got me in tears here...!
-
Thank you - it's nice to have someone who understands :) To be honest, going out in shorts in public, especially somewhere that I could have met dozens of people that I knew, was a real achievement for me anyway - this town hasn't seen my legs pretty much ever!!!

Yes, totally! My whole body takes on a look I can only describe as 'mottled' (and in some places, 'with divots'!). Happens every time I try to lose weight - I take it as a sign that I'm succeeding. This time around it must be genuine because it's even happening on my forearms, the last place on earth I needed to lose…

I took mine back simply on the grounds that the taste of it was so bad I had to force myself to drink it, after mixing it with any number of other ingredients to make it even remotely palatable. I switched to whey protein (well, actually it's a mix of three kinds of protein) and never looked back.

Excellent! Well done!

The remaining portion of corn chips at the bottom of the bag.

Cardio after lifting for me.

I've lost a cat. There is really no need to go around putting posters on lamp posts.

This will probably be of no real help at all, but I've realised I get like this after exercising. Not always, but enough for it to be a pattern, and it's very unpleasant. It doesn't co-incide with the running, or any changes to your programme, does it?

I just bought some adjustable dumbbells and found exercises on the Internet. Today I've also got two different sets of ankle/wrist weights to add weight to leg raises and so on.
-
There's something about some women with pushchairs. Anyone would think they were training for the 100m-with-kid race :D
-
I've discovered that hardly anyone even notices you're there, to be honest.

I have experience with this to the point of one very large tub and a letter asking for my money back (Holland and Barrett soy isolate powder, in case you're wondering - 'delicious chocolate flavour' my ****!!!!!). I started mixing mine with chai latte powder. Well, to be honest I tried about a dozen other things (including…
